  1. So, how does it sound? It looks aces.
  2. He has a book out about the history of bass and his collection.- Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass. I'm about half way through it right now. Lots of great photos and nerdy details about the instruments.
  3. They say you can never go back. But in this case..... https://www.toneshopguitars.com/collections/used-gear/products/used-rickenbacker-360-12-fireglow-w-case-tsu6687
  4. My local shop has this coming in. They are pretty awesome to deal with and can always find a way to save you a buck or three if you drop in to say hi. If you are considering Gretsch, you may want to give them a call. https://www.toneshopguitars.com/collections/gretsch/products/grestch-g6131t-my-malcolm-young-signature-jet-ebony-fingerboard-natural https://www.toneshopguitars.com/collections/gretsch/products/gretsch-g6120t-players-edition-nashville-w-string-thru-bigsby-filtertron-pickups-orange-stain-w-case
  5. Songsterr doesn't have as much of that for sure. They focus on having one accurate tab per song. Your options seem more based on style of play. Here are the options for Stairway:
  6. There is a limited free version to try out. The tabs feel a bit more accurate. I don't have as much "that doesn't sound right" moments. I have not tried UG in a while, it may have improved, but I find the entire interface on Songsterr much more user friendly for me. Filtering songs based on tuning or difficulty is nice. My kid's drum instructor turned him onto it, then I got into it for bass. It has made it an easy way for us to pick songs and play together.
  7. If you are considering Ultimate Guitar, check out Songsterr. I personally find it more accurate and easier to use. Totally worth the cost for me. In addition to guitar and bass, they have drum tabs as well.
  8. No dogs in the guitar room? Sounds pretty damn un-American to me comrade.
  9. Let us know when you get the tracking number.
  10. At least Quiet Riot is wearing a mask.
  11. Bet you can get them down pretty close to your price. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ES3500SCNH--gibson-es-335-sixties-cherry?cond=ES3500SCNHd1
  12. Couch guitar straps is having a 25% off site wide sale through Sunday with the code: RockMyLivingRoomAndOneDayTheStage I grabbed a drumstick bag for my kid and a padded bass strap made of 80's VW GTI seat fabric for me.
  13. I am generally not a fan of the relic'ed guitars. This one, however, I find myself strangely attracted to. The flamed maple peeking through is an interesting spin on the over the top "heavy aged" guitars and basses that Nash and the Fender Custom Shop are pumping out.
  14. Lord, i hate cyclops. Wish i could grind it off my Rolex. Otherwise love the watch even if i haven't had a reason to wear it in a few months. I used to hate them too. The date window is useless to me without it now. Sigh.
  15. Forgot the pic earlier. Sapphire crystal. Seiko automatic movement. Waffle dial has a lot of depth in person. Cyclops is big, but I’m older now so I appreciate it.
  16. I had a Panerai Sub for a while. It's not a bad watch, but I agree with 52-80. It's basically multiple variations of the same 2 models. It makes the Porsche 911 design team look radical by comparison. I will say that the ease of strap changes and the huge array of aftermarket straps can let you change things up pretty often. A new strap is always cheaper than a new watch when you get tired of the old look. Regarding green watches with green straps, take a look at the Seiko King Turtle if you don't mind a dive watch.
  17. Why has this information been held back from me until now? I can't even....
  18. How much are you (or the parents) looking to spend? Sweetwater has this demo. I bet they will drop it down a bit more. Capri Orange may not be the best Strat color, but the HSS configuration is always great. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratPHSSPCO--fender-player-series-stratocaster-hss-capri-orange?cond=StratPHSSPCOd1
  19. This is well built and will cover a lot of tonal ground. Very underpriced for what you get. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BB435BL--yamaha-bb435-5-string-black
  20. I am a 4 string guy, so no personal experience. The guys over at Talkbass really like the SUB series (especially for the value you get). I think the string spacing on the 5 is possibly a bit tight at the nut, but as a guitar guy, that probably won't matter as much for you.
  21. Honey, this is NOT a guitar. This is a bass. It's totally different.
  22. It actually sounds really good. Passive pickups with two volume knobs and the master tone is a push pull to split the coils. I am still playing around with different combinations. Neck at 10 with the tone rolled back sounds great as does splitting the coils and running both PUPS and the tone pushed up a bit. It can be "P-ish" but isn't 100% there and sorta Jazz with the split coils, but really it has it's own thing going. The neck is thin and fast, which I guess should be expected from an 80's product. It is super lightweight and balances unexpectedly well. The biggest issue is the headless aspect. I keep going to the 2nd fret expecting it to be the 1st fret because my visual references are off. I bought it on a whim and expected it to be a toy, but I actually really like it.
