  1. JJ, the Arvada Guitar Center has a used 3 piece Gretsch Renown set in natural. They just got it in, so it’s up for sale but can’t be “sold” for a few more days. Not listed on the website yet. I can get it to DFW if you decide you are interested. I can go back for pics and price.
  2. I’ll confess to picking up the ‘Bird. I agree that AUTF was simply awesome to deal with. He was kind enough to ship to Colorado since I am up here dropping the boy off at college. The temps are sane here so just an overnight sleep in the shipping box.
  3. Not sure if this is a good price, but GC in Mesquite has a used 5 piece set of Gretsch Brooklyn available. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Gretsch-Drums/Brooklyn-Series-5pc-Drum-Kit.gc
  4. Could it be stolen? It seems like a weird guitar to try and make a counterfeit. 250 limited edition Elvis model is pretty niche. Have you talked with the guy. Can he show that he is the rightful owner?
  5. That's a lot of money for a tarted up Jeep. You should go put a duck on the hood if you see her again.
  6. This is what has me a little concerned about both the LC and the 4R moving to a hybrid platform. I love the idea of better fuel economy since the 16 mpg I get in the Tacoma sucks balls. However, the Sequoia rear packaging is terrible due to the hybrid battery placement. Hopefully, the LC/4R will have a more elegant solution.
  7. I am probably one of those cannibalized sales. My last 4R was a Limited. It offered some interior features that made roadtrips a lot more tolerable and the full time AWD was nicer when driving in intermittent snowy conditions. The base LC now appears to offer all that and more at a similar enough price point. It will be interesting watching Toyota try and thread the needle with the new 4R though. Also, what is this in the background of the LC reveal? I assume it is a CUV of some sort? Toyota has quite a few compelling products coming out.
  8. Vinteras are back on sale 36% off MSRP and free shipping on Fender’s site. My Mustang should tomorrow.
  9. Good eye. Seven different colors will be available including Black, Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Underground, Meteor Shower, Trail Dust, and Heritage Blue. Customers can also get a two-tone exterior that features either Trail Dust or Heritage Blue paired with a Grayscape roof
  10. Base model. Cloth seats. Round head lights. Yes please.
  11. Well, I don't know if that was a flash sale over the weekend, but the price is back up. Price on a Mustang bass was MSRP $1150, 20% off sale $920 and then this weekend price dropped to $735. At that price, I picked one up. Hopefully Fender doesn't send me an email and claim a computer glitch of an accidental 20% off the prior 20%. NBD if the sale goes through....
  12. Great choice. Prices are finally dropping back to more sane levels. With the 2024 coming out, maybe you can score a decent deal on a 3rd gen. Keep us posted on the hunt.
  13. PSA: Fender is blowing out their current Vintera line to make room for the Vintera II series. https://www.fender.com/en-US/electric-series/vintera/

  15. I’ll pass on the actual vehicle, but the juvenile in me is happy to see decals coming back.
  16. No surprise after the minor penalty last year. If you asked me to guess what teams would be most likely to test the limits of going over the cap, that would be my top 3. If it is Haas, Gene will just pay the fine out of Guenther’s “swear jar” fund.
  17. The new Fender Vintera II line has leaked. Looks like they are ditching Pau Ferro and going back to Rosewood. I have been eyeing the JMJ Mustang bass for a while, but this may be the new leader in the clubhouse. https://www.txirula.com search vintera ii for the full guitar and bass line up.
  18. That’s the crazy part. We took them on an Alaskan cruise right before COVID happened. We did an extended glacier tour and they were discussing glacier retreat etc. My wife and I came away from the tour horrified. My in laws were all “this is just the natural ebb and flow of the planet”. We all hear through filters, but I’m like “Dude. You are a math and facts/scientific method guy. Seriously?” News entertainment channels broke them.
  19. This is where my FIL is right now. Went from years of climate denial to this is natural and God’s way. Super smart engineer too….
  20. It was cool and overcast this afternoon. I ran across this guy trying to warm up by the creek.
  21. I had one for a while. I am definitely not a tech, but I found the build quality to be fantastic. They are super light weight and the neck was rock solid. It basically never went out of tune and I never had to touch the truss rod (it was set up and shipped to me from California). It would handle the lack of humidity that you have up there easily. It was also really bright and clear. Lots of sustain. If your budget is up for a $2k hiking guitar, you should not be disappointed. Just know that it will not be super warm. Also, I think they all have electronics if you are concerned about those getting wet. I ended up selling it to a guy that wanted to keep it on his boat in Florida.
  22. I'm running the Garden of the Gods 10 mile in a few weeks. A little altitude test for me as I prep for the Pikes Peak Marathon this Fall. At least it will be better than running in Texas heat and humidity.
