  1. This thread belongs in DT. (j/k--it really doesn't but it does not actually belong in the CR per se either) Most of the threads in DT don't belong in DT once a day or two has passed--the topic changes into something that is ideological and does not remain a relevant evolving discussion/situation related to a current event. Not sure why more topics don't get moved that way. This board was created by people with academic know-how.
  2. Oh come on, guys. You/We can stand here and draw lines in the sand all day and see who can piss the greatest distance if you want but nothing happens, ever unless the TEAM somehow manages to beat the other TEAM. I'm not talking about this thread or even this board in that regard. Hillary outed George (senior) for his affair with his secretary that began when he was working in China, then here we go whoopsies here's the affair that Bill had with Gennifer Flowers, Lewensky; Trump and his harem, and on and on. None of this is okay--not because of adults, but because of the power difference. Male or female doesn't matter. The pedophilia ramps it up to another level but it is still a matter of don't ask don't tell with the powerful protecting their own while trying to gain advantage, letting the victims dangle and get exoriated all while we choose apparent sides and bicker. How stupid are we? Wait don't answer that.
  3. I haven't been in tune with media reliability/sources lately, but let's be honest here: Newsweek can point out the math but the kicker is: can the committee actually perform the mathematical operation? Pretty certain, given the difficulties with addition regarding a certain election that fractions are going to be problematic.
  4. From the Mueller, She Wrote tweet on pg 66 (of this thread), tweeter displays a document discussing "Dershowitz (along with other members of Epstein's defense team)" and the secret immunity provided when reaching the deal in Florida. Ken Starr, deader than a doornail now, was one of those 'others' on the defense team and, as low of an opinion I have of him, when he died a lot of secrets died with him. They could talk to Starr's former deputy, Brett Kavanaugh (not directly involved AFAIK with Epstein's defense as I think he was a sitting judge at the time), but yeah, ha, like he would say anything when asked, enrobed egoist asshole that he is--he's smart enough to know better. He's got his gig and he ain't losing it now. Ironically, the right leaning media outlets roasted what they perceived to be the cossetted treatment of Epstein as compared to what they believed to be the persecution of Kavanaugh during his confirmation. Well, yes right leaning media outlets you got the cossetted treatment of Epstein correct but you're missing the big picture per usual. Edit to add: The power players (mostly men, some females, and grasping enablers) swing their boy (or girl) bits around seeking gratification without concern for political parties until it is erm exposed and the information weaponized. But it's a mirror to our society that we do not honor the meek nor protect the victims or disable the structures that permit the atrocities perpetrated against the powerless. Sucks to our assmar I guess.
  5. Corpse Reviver #2, Necromancer, and a Skeleton Key and I'm feeling fiesty. It's a new year and a new theme so why not?!
  6. Good Lord, I'm three sheets to the wind due to making cocktails for spouse's rough work day and I'm not so delusional to see what the fuck all that graphic has to do with anything relevant. Do these people actually watch the games?
  7. Some of the recent headlines discussed how there has been outflow of residents from 'blue' to 'red' states, but less discussed were the headlines that mentioned that life expectancy was longer in 'blue' states vs 'red' states. Come to conservative states to reach heaven sooner is the motto you know. Or hell while alive. You'd think women would be leaving as soon as they could scrape together enough to do so but that kind of mobility for many women is difficult and always has been.
  8. It's the dismal tide pod of dudes that say and signify nothing. They should take take Anton's challenge and flip a coin. Then let Carla Jean decide.
  9. I don't know what his plans are in the coming year and don't care but if I had that kind of folding money I'd be sitting in Ellen's Pub in Ballyconnell with a fat smile on my face and a pint in my belly with no plans to return stateside for quite some time.
  10. The offseason should be interesting. Maybe they'll make a promo video with all the highlights you listed! This was several years and one month ago:
  11. Sorry you're feeling poorly. It's amazing how much fp is caused by salad and other greens. I love to make salad but it's getting to where those oysters your family grilled over the weekend were probably safer.
  12. Yeah, your reasoning for not doing it makes sense. Houston and its metro, Austin etc I see the cars that can't follow the curve of the road and a good percentage of the time they're on their phone. Worst one I saw this past year was 290 eastbound near Cypress and the guy was driving his truck with no hands on the steering wheel--he was holding his phone and typing something (lol, probably on a message board having to get the last word). Hit the pedal and got as far away as I could.
  13. No lecture from me. Closest I've ever been to a bingo card is the fake ones on here. I am, however, a little more in favor of keeping the casinos in benefit of the indigenous owners simply because it seems like they've been able to reverse some population declines on tribal lands and increase employment. It's had its negative impacts as well though. Admittedly I don't know enough about it beyond that.
  14. With many fathers this is a great age (adolescence) to step up and be a dad to daughters in one of the more emotionally rewarding (and challenging!) ways. I was very thankful for having someone who could absorb some of the pent up teen angst and energy and redirect it in positive ways, who could role model male behavior that was constructive and fair-minded, who encouraged w/o belittling feminine thought and behavior, who was a sounding board for the (pardon) dumb things boys sometimes do or say, and so on. It can forge a stronger relationship that progresses from teen to adulthood and for those of you that have daughters, count your blessings even when you want to yell at the clouds because they'll always have your heart and you theirs.
  15. FIFM. Houston is not the only city I've almost been thankful I was second in line at the traffic light. I don't drive daily in Houston but I'm there frequently along with the Austin and Dallas metro areas as well. I eventually got used to lane splitting (with motorcycles) driving in LA traffic but sure has given me a startle when it's happened here in Texas. The last time it happened I was certain I was going to see a brain stain on the pavement because that rider was not only helmet-less, he did it in the stupidest way possible. ( I know it isn't supposed to happen here but it do, it sure sure do)
  16. Couple of SCOTUS names would be interesting even if a judge felt they did nothing wrong. He really really should've just stuck with, Hey! Hey! DISCOUNT DAWBLECHECK!!!!
  17. Thanks and rep for giving me the info.
  18. If Nebraska ever got enough wins to be eligible, their fans would be paying premium even if it was the HimandHermiroids Bowl
  19. I said this before, but I'm still puzzled about why they or really any of the coaching vacancies never really looked at Steve Spurrier Jr. He's worked with some good head coaches and had some success but is there something about him of which I'm unaware? Off field shenanigans? Attitude? Spurrier coaches at TU as the OC/QB coach but he was the WR coach under his dad at South Carolina and had several players go NFL, among other successes. Some of his movement has been leaving jobs to go work for his father (including NFL) which I guess I can kind of see the good and bad but he's also worked with Bob Stoops, Lincoln Riley, and Mike Leach with Leach bringing him from WSU to Mississippi State until Leach's untimely passing. Spurrier took over the playing calling in their bowl game (which they won) and then left to be OC at the University of Tulsa. It's one of those things where I'm curious if he's the real deal or it's a nepo thing or if he's being hamstrung by the nepo thing or something else completely. Sorry for the derail. I just don't see his name crop up but I also don't follow some of the vacancies as closely as I could and I like to see who the JV coaches are and who has potential to replace some of the older guys.
  20. Oh, if you can please do. It's an amazing event. Parade and all. Noting that I've not been there for the actual day but those that I know that have loved it. I don't know how difficult it is to purchase a year out, I do recall reading that the stadium is set to host one of the playoff games this fall?? But if you want the actual Rose Bowl on Jan 1, 2025 with the parade and hoopla then not sure if the ticket agencies have that but they might. Wouldn't surprise me if groups have bought if so.
  21. I rather like the comment about pay boards because paying a premium for a safe space does sound very genius and Elon worthy. I think this poster should pay a large sum just to have that special space with the caveat that the free boards are off limits to users with that designation. Win-win!!
  22. That might work. However, I wonder if coming up with something that is say Trump *adjacent might sell even better. The MAGA crowd really enjoyed the ingroup participation in the FJB mantra which was just plain lucky on the part of the GOP when that happened. A sign with some large logo that uses a picture of the symbolic red hat with the blondie swoop and has a code word or little anacronym displayed on the front of the hat so that the folks who feel somewhat shy about shouting it out nowadays but still lean that way will spend the $$ and it's visible from the road or wherever. What am I even saying here? Stop, I don't want to help them, I want to grift them. Never mind Trump signs in the ten dollar range. *(sorry I've been using this word a lot lately, it's the new 'transformative' so I'm going to overuse it to force its demise)
  23. Rich, racist, misogynist, deceptive dick is misunderstood when he does rich, racist, sexist, and deceptive things. Geez, never heard of that excuse before. Ho-hum.
  24. Whoopi Goldberg laid a *curse down on Danny Glover in The Color Purple that wormed its way into his conscience so I'd say every little bit helps.... *Until you do right by me everything you think about is going to crumble.
  25. Well, you don't have to watch it because the good conservatives at Aggy have and they're happy to interpret it for you: Here's the regular law-adjacent poster (spoilered below) letting you know the score. One point in her favor is that she notes that the Capitol police were unprepared. However, the entire thread dissolves into the timestamp stuff regarding Trump's twitter and goes on for quite awhile. I was simultaneously disgusted and laughing because we are several years out from this and it's just a SMH scenario. Anyway, here is the link to the four page (for now) thread: https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3435544/1 and behind the cut are some selected posts for a quick read if you want the gist of their thoughts. There's a rebuttal or two in there but Ag gonna Ag.
