I'm around but rarely. Workload steadily increased post pandemic and balancing that with other daily events meant less time to scroll the feeds. Check in now and then, like today when I saw the Ag football coach was announced. Have caught the Horn games and love how those guys are having a great season. Took some patience, but slow and steady improvement is such a buzz. Doing fine. Can't help but wonder if you're confusing me with someone else? The author of the original post in the CR started to avoid political discussion in DT surrounding something called COVID? Hope your surgery recovery is complete and everyone here is doing well. Every time another announcement or "leak" breaks from College Station, I keep thinking of the marvelous Thujone art and how I could never have predicted such a spectacular Roller Coaster this year.

Something fucky or something phucky?

To see and hear what, exactly? In some respects, the silence is deafening and in others I'd say the cacophony is loud and clear and smacking everyone in the face. The first rule of parenting is to never use love as a weapon. That is only masquerading as love. The man crucified for loving others made that quite clear. So clear that one need only look to see it. I'm out, y'all have a good day.

That was brought up on page three of this thread, but didn't get too far. I think @BevoAbyss has brought this up, but one need only read the history (while we're still allowed) of the historical treatment of indigenous peoples in America with respect to their own beliefs, perspectives, and very existence versus the Eurocentric-minded government and settlers and how they are viewed today to see parallels across societies. Most on here understand that, I think. However, there were tribes in the Americas wherein females had much more agency until the colonies were created. Many most religions simply will not tolerate that. Any that claim otherwise typically confine that 'freedom' to specific roles that have no true authority over the male gender, but the opposite is not true. I've pretty much given up hope that the collision course upon which our nation is set will end without a massive toll. That's the ledge for you, hard to see humanity as any other than ants.

Polio cases in Africa linked to new oral vaccine
Mrs Whiggins replied to Parliament's topic in Daily Texan
No! It makes perfect sense. I mean, if you want to depopulate the planet, you have to eradicate polio by vaccinating the countries where it remains most prevalent, even though the birth rates in those countries has not shown a *marked drop-off and the number of polio cases is still <800 per 600 million doses administered (per the article) The 5th richest fella in the world is attempting to prove that he, too, makes bad and inefficient business decisions like the 2nd richest fella in the world, Elon Musk. Bill Gates is doing a remarkable job of depopulation per **ElonMetrics. Do the research man! *Birth rates for the continent of Africa have shown a ~1% decrease, a combination of factors being: war, economic instability, pandemic, food insecurity, etc. **patent pending on the brand. -
It matters not that you are a man, you (and I mean you) seem to have been willing to look to the future with your spirituality and see it beyond a small-minded framework (God is big!) while being mindful of the past. The danger to this country is coming in the form of the Janus-mouthed that would say to your daughters: 'you have autonomy....within the roles to which you are assigned because you are female.' That religion is traditionally patriarchal, that our society is historically patriarchal does not mean all men support it but that, similar to but not the same way as with racism, there is a lot of baggage to overcome as American society grapples with the backlash of whether we collectively are going to move forward with respect to those topics such as race, gender, sexuality, and so on or are we going to stop the clock so to speak. It would be wonderful if citizens of all faiths or no faiths or some faiths supported the separation between the government and religions and supported the rights of all as you apparently do. But my faith in that is weakening as the day grows long. Especially if men get gruntled when women bring up issues that they themselves have not had to consider (where have we grappled with that in the recent past?). Where our eyes should see the small things about ourselves, those things such as *kindness to others, the many types of love, compassion, generousity, and grow them outward to become larger in our communities...for some reason we don't do that: we take the infinite love and glory of the universe, the potential of humans to grow and hope and expand beyond their horizons no matter the circumstances of their birth or their gender.. we take that and we shrink it down into a tiny box and in our hubris we place others inside so we can feel control and feel comfortable about ourselves. We simultaneously are comforted by and afraid of those boxes. *...what is essential , is invisible to the eye. One of Mr. Rogers' favorite quotes and has likewise been one of mine. Peace.

Youth Minister's (and other pervs) Thread of Shame
Mrs Whiggins replied to tx 3 putt's topic in Daily Texan
Sad to say this but there are too many cases where the call is coming from within the house and the church elders just hang up, place on indefinite hold or the inevitable "sorry, wrong number." -
Our oldest got some offers to return to Texas after graduation and she has turned them all down. She is unwilling to risk her health. We support that decision wholeheartedly. It's her life and we'd rather she lived it somewhere it is valued as more than a vessel.

Beg to differ. IMO one of the best attributes of Shaggy/Surly has always been not the original thought but the unique responses to that thought and in those I have found much amusement. And amusement is a not unworthy quality of a message board. (Note: I seldom post in the football forum because that is much more serious bidness).

There's more than one way to not respond or even respond online or off. Sometimes you gotta go with your mood:

One can call it complementarianism or whatever term men in the Catholic church and or People of Praise adherents decided to call it, but following this belief the man is still the head of the household and men do not serve under female leadership in roles of the church. That stays within the boundaries of the home and church and secular laws are followed? Well, do your thing. But we have one such person sitting on the Supreme Court and that court has been rather activist of late so pardon my skepticism. I have watched in three generations rights been given and taken away. How long before I watch my daughter suffer the way my mother did because someone believes women should stay at home and endure pain and infertility and no mental health counseling due to lack of healthcare or that women be unable to vote? Amy is fine to take advantage of her position, but she is not unlike Clarence Thomas if she thinks that is going to last and maybe that is what she wants. But what she wants and what I want are apparently two different things. What I want is the equity in the illustration with the baseball game and the three fans standing on different sized boxes but according to many faiths, females shouldn't be watching the game at all. Men make the rules, men write the laws, women are supposed to be complimentary (pun intended). I'm not even going to delve into being allowed to play. If it seems I am slamming my hand on the table for feminism, I am referring to anyone (including women) whom the Founding Fathers deemed irrelevant.

A patriarchal-based faith as most faiths today are.... All men are created equal...man came first and then woman, woman was created from man, and so on. While there are matriarchal societies there are few, if any, matriarchal religions (save perhaps the Goddess type movements). Some faiths (Unitarian, et al) promote a more individual approach, but even the Unitarians didn't elect a woman to the post of the UUA until 2017. Quite a few faiths restrict female participation to specific roles. Expanding that outward, as goes the religion so goes the secular laws and restrictions. Youth Minister's (and other pervs) Thread of Shame

I believe the horse is expected to testify for the prosecution: -
FIFY Women...they love me and so do the gays. I mean you gotta protect your family from the gays, but I love them and I love women too. Look at my beautiful wife, Melania, I mean who wouldn't love her? Men would love to be with my wife. But golf? Melania can't play golf well, most women and gays are not good at sports. They love that I am such a good golfer. None of them can play golf like I can. I'm a great golfer and I hit the ball real far. You have to be strong and fit like I am to be a golfer...I had this one gay friend, I don't know if he was actually gay or a he or a she but he came up to me with tears in his eyes. "Sir, sir," he said, "How do you hit the ball from the men's tee so far?" I mean, I wouldn't share lunch and have a burger at Doral with this guy, but he knew I am a great golfer. They love me.

Youth Minister's (and other pervs) Thread of Shame
Mrs Whiggins replied to tx 3 putt's topic in Daily Texan
Here are two more; the first example actually occurred in Germany where the age of consent is lower--14 years. Also: in the US there is a movement to return to younger age of consent and *consent to marry laws. Apparently, being that it is young women and girls it is somehow acceptable to groom them because it's females and their lives are of no consequence. Germany: (sorry for the cut-off tweet, the tweeter took a screenshot of the pastor's instagram post which is now private.) Here's some background: the youth pastor posted an insta of his girlfriend (now wife) when she turned 18 with the caption--"I can't describe with words what you mean to me and what kind of person you are. You have been my best friend for 4 years, my girlfriend that I love....." Second one in Indiana; only have a link: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/court-docs-youth-pastor-groomed-teenager-took-her-away-from-home/ar-AA13FxZY *Example: https://www.newsweek.com/tennessee-bill-proposes-eliminating-marriage-age-requirements-1695209 -
Now. Having written that nice little essay in which I bolded a few of your very gems, go back and reread this below and then ask yourself, which outcome do you see most likely occurring in twenty plus years for the tiptop golfer in this way off the path derailed thread? The one below or the scenario you described? Hint: I'm not talking about DDD Dad.

The burger only bears a distant relationship to the driving range, however. The tiny hands and watch, well, you know how that works out on the course when it comes to the state of play.
-
It was a distraction so you wouldn't inquire about tiny hands and an overly tight ladies watch. I think that's a GOP requirement now.
