  1. FYI, @ Richmond will be a good one. They're 9-1, only loss is by 2 points, and beat Oklahoma State. That's a tricky game on the road.
  2. Different timeline but I'm seeing the potential for a Venables situation here. Going from an easy schedule to a tough schedule is going to change the perception a lot with Elko.
  3. Their defense and special teams are really good. If Michigan had a top-40 offense, they would be a playoff team. Also, if we could just get the Ewers from the Michigan game we would win the national title.
  4. Yeah, Mafah has been banged up for like a month which is why you've seen a huge dip in production. Feels like their run game will have to be Klubnik. He had 24 carries combined in the last 2 games because Clemson needed it. I never want a player injured but Texas should be ready to light him up to send him a message.
  5. I don't think there's a very good comp. The best way I could break it down is Clemson is one of the best offenses we've played this season. It's a middle-of-the-pack defense compared to other teams we've played. It's one of the worst special teams we've played. That's how you end up with a team that lost 3 games and probably should have lost 4 or 5 when you look at win expectancy. When you have just an OK defense and a terrible special teams your offense better be elite and Clemson's offense isn't elite.
  6. Also if Clemson's top 2 RBs are healthy. Seems like that's up in the air.
  7. Georgia might have 3 first-rounders on their D (Starks, Walker, and Williams) and Everette is going to be a borderline 1st but probably early to mid 2nd rounder dependent on how he tests. Clemson has nobody that's going that early on D. The fact you think Georgia is a good comparison point (especially on D) for talent is hilarious.
  8. Clemson's D is not good. The only reason the advanced metrics kind of like their D is because they do force a lot of turnovers. That's the only redeeming part of their D. They suck at everything else. From what I've seen, they take a lot of risks on defense trying to force turnovers because they know their D isn't good. It leads to turnovers but also a lot of big plays.
  9. Hope the SMU kicker rumors are true.
  10. We got the most desirable draw possible for our offense. At least the first 2 rounds.
  11. The big problem with Clemson's D is they're #123 in explosive plays. The way to stop our offense is to limit big plays and force us into long drives. Clemson has been incapable of doing that all year.
  12. Also, for some reason people think Clemson's defense is good. For perspective, all these teams on our schedule have a better D than Clemson per FEI: Oklahoma, Georgia X2, Texas A&M, and Michigan. I also think Kentucky's D is better but just had issues on offense that limited the effectiveness of their D. Half our schedule was against better defenses.
  13. Brad Crawford at 247 picked us to win it all and his reasoning is we might not have to play an elite D until the title game. We will avoid the elite Ds in the bracket if Oregon beats Tennessee or Ohio State. There are some other elite Ds on the other side of the bracket. I don't think it's terrible reasoning. If we can score 25 points we have a shot to beat anybody.
  14. The thing that stands out with Clemson is they've only played 3 top 30 offenses per FEI. Georgia (34 points and 447 yards) Louisville (33 points and 336 yards) SMU (31 points and 458 yards) Their defense is not good.
  15. I know we do this every year but their schedule is also a lot more difficult next year. Their away games of @ ND, @ Arkansas (no longer a neutral field), @ LSU, @ Missouri, @ Texas are brutal. Then South Carolina and Florida should both be decent next year assuming Lagway doesn't bounce.
  16. What's considered crazy? They signed one of the top portal classes last year based purely on numbers. I expect something similar. A huge portal class with a bunch of jags and a couple decent to good transfers like Scouton.
  17. There aren't enough of those type players in the portal.
  18. It's crazy Clemson is even in this position. This Pitt vs Clemson game was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. Legit cost Pitt 10-14 points in a 4 point loss. Same shit happened in this game where Pittsburgh fans went insane after a missed call and the refs overturned it (not this play but another one). I thought Pitt fans were going to attack the refs in this one.
  19. Clemson was dominated by Georgia, lost to a good but not great South Carolina team, lost to an unranked Louisville team, probably should have lost to SMU with only a 30.1% win expectancy, and barely beat unranked Pitt by 4 points mainly due from a few terrible calls by the refs. You can spin however you want. This team is mediocre at best. They weren't even going to sniff the playoffs had they not backed their way into the ACC championship. This is a 3 to 5 loss type team that you're comparing to '23 Washington, '23 Bama, and '24 Georgia. Please get a grip.
  20. Bro, this Clemson team is nowhere near as good as '23 Alabama, '23 Washington, and '24 Georgia. Jesus. Clemson wasn't even going to make the playoffs had Miami not choked in the final regular season game of the ACC.
  21. The fact people think this Clemson team is comparable to last year's Alabama/Washington and this year's Georgia is how you know they are clueless. They are not in the same stratosphere.
  22. I also think Ohio State is going to beat Oregon. Ohio State has flaws but their defense is still nasty. Oregon's defense is just OK. I don't see Oregon's offense scoring 32 again on Ohio State's D. I predict Ohio State winning a 23 to 20 type game.
  23. yeah, because we got a favorable draw in the quarters. Having to play ASU is a much easier draw than having to play Tennessee or Ohio State.
  24. yeah, because we are playing 2 of the weakest teams in the first 2 rounds.
