  1. The big thing with Mark essentially running point is he just has more size/physicality than both Pope and Larry. 18 FTs in the 2 SEC tournament games for Mark. Pope lives off jumpers and Larry just looks to create for others. With Mark, he has the intent of getting to the rim and creating contact. That FT number should be more like 25 over 2 games because aggy fouled Mark several times to the rim on no-calls.
  2. The only bad part of our resume is the 6-12 SEC record but the NCAA committee has never used that to justify leaving teams out if the conference is loaded. Especially for WBB and softball in the SEC. For example, aggy made a regional in softball with a 6-18 SEC record in 2022.
  3. Their last coach was more successful. Kennedy made 2 Sweet 16s and all Buzz has to his name right now is 1 NCAA tournament win over a program that's never won a NCAA tournament game (Nebraska). Yet to be determined what happens this year in the tournament but Buzz has done almost nothing in the NCAA tournament so far in year 6 at aggy.
  4. If the quadrant system matters we should absolutely be in the tournament. Not just Q1 wins but we also don't have any bad losses (I.e. Q3 and Q4 losses). Here are the number of Q3 and Q4 losses of the bubble teams. Texas 0 UNC 1 Xavier 0 OU 1 Indiana 0 Baylor 1 West Virginia 0 San Diego State 1 Utah State 0 Ohio State 0 Boise State 2 Colorado State 2 Not only do we have the most Q1 wins of the bubble teams we also don't have any bad losses (I.e. Q3 or Q4). Several of the bubble teams have bad losses.
  5. I think we're in. Here are all the bubble teams and Q1 wins. Texas 7 UNC 1 Xavier 2 Indiana 4 OU 7 Baylor 5 West Virginia 6 San Diego State 3 Utah State 2 Ohio State 6 Boise State 2 Colorado State 1 You can't constantly talk about the quadrant system and then exclude Texas when they have this many Q1 wins (compared to the bubble).
  6. Next year could be special. I consider the only real loss to be Taylor Jones. Not hating on Holle because she's been a great Longhorn and contributor but I think we will upgrade giving those minutes to a different player. Then we add a top 5 recruit in Crump and maybe the overall #1 recruit in Chavez? Plus, year 2 jump for Lee/Preston/Carlton. Get Rori back and add a decent big in the portal.
  7. It shouldn't. As @Js1 said above next year is going to be our best chance at a national title in a long time. We should go all in.
  8. I don't know if it's because of injuries but it's like RT has finally realized that our best offense is when Mark dictates things. I don't know why it took until the SEC tournament to figure this out.
  9. Craziest stat in this one was Jordan Pope being our leading rebounder with 8 rebounds. He averages 1.8 rebounds a game on the year.
  10. I see no way they keep Tre Johnson out of the tournament.
  11. That's pretty much the aggy offense. Put your head down and pray the refs call a foul.
  12. The toughest we've played all season because aggy was unusually lucky from 3. I would have figured we had no shot in this game if aggy shot like that from 3.
  13. It's going to be like in Austin. South Carolina's bigs are going to wear down dealing with Jones and Oldacre because they're simply too big for them. Keep feeding them.
  14. Guards doing too much. Force feed the post. That's now 5 quarters in a row that South Carolina had no answer for our bigs.
  15. They cannot stop our bigs. This is so simple.
  16. All 3 scores inside. Stop shooting jumpers and force feed the post.
  17. They are so soft inside. Keep going inside.
  18. Both baskets inside with Jones and Jak. Get the ball inside.
  19. The problem is the committee doesn't care about true seed lines. They prioritize juicy match-ups. It's why we always played aggy in the postseason prior to the SEC move. I'll be pretty shocked if we don't get at least 2 regional "rivals" in that second weekend because it's not too difficult to justify.
  20. Our bracket has too many juicy potential matchups that I can already see how this is going to go. Texas 1 seed, LSU 2 seed, TCU 3 seed, Baylor 4 seed. I'm already expecting something like this.
  21. I hope Carlton sticks things out because she's an insanely good rebounder. Carlton at the 4 with Jak plus Oldacre at the 5 could potentially be an even better offensive rebounding team next year. Carlton and Oldacre is going to be hard to handle inside once Carlton figures out what she's doing.
  22. This was a weird game. It was obvious Mulkey knew they couldn't guard Jones and Oldacre inside so early in the game she was sending 3 players at them. Then the gameplan completely adjusted once Mulkey realized the refs were allowing LSU's bigs to foul.
  23. Ugly shooting but like Mulkey said this type of game is actually how Vic wants to play. I think this team is much more likely to lose in a shootout against a team like ND that dropped 80 on us than a grind it out affair like tonight. The uglier the better for us.
  24. Get the ball inside like in Austin. South Carolina's weakness is size inside. The good news is with all our foul trouble our bigs should actually be pretty fresh.
  25. Terrible officiating the last 2 games. Just flat-out bad. All 3 of our frontcourt players were in foul trouble while they were hacked the entire game with no calls. Fucking terrible.
