  1. These are all true. But not really the worst. The worst is the complete dehumanization
  2. I'm not sure. It was that way at the shag I think. I dunno. I've slept since then
  3. I thought we weren't supposed to link to threads there? @immamac?
  4. That's not what I'm saying at all. My opinion is my opinion. That's it and that's all. I get you disagree and that's fine. We don't have to agree.
  5. Yeah, I get the negs, I really do. But people in a traumatic situation go into shock, while people adjacent to it go into hysteria. She is making statements that are just not real. The fear is real, but the claims are not Yes, that's true. But her statements are over the top. I'm not saying it's not a severely traumatizing event for those students and teachers there. I wish we had better gun policy in the United States. I would never want my kids to go through that. But she's still pouring it on thick I'm not a woman. But I've been in several situations That are stressful like that and traumatic. But it's always the people that weren't there that make these claims... it bothers me because they blast it to 20 and make these statements. Her husband's classroom wasn't a crime scene. Yes it was harrowing for her husband and for those kids. Yes it's really something that should never happen. Yes it's horrible, and yes we need to solve it. But no, her husband's classroom was not a crime scene. I just get tired of the dramatics of those not even involved. It's cheap, and it takes away from the trauma of those who were there.
  6. Well, if you read it, he has a fucking point. Our political system is fucked. Completely.
  7. Well, she seems a bit histrionic, considering her husband's classroom isn't part of a fucking crime scene, unless the person shot through the fucking floor. Everyone is a fucking attention whore when they are crime scene adjacent. Not taking anything away from the students and that teacher who supposedly heard it all, but for fucks sake with the fucking drama
  8. Yeah, but ffl's queries are to the FBI/ATF who take days to verify the request and the information. How would we have everybody's information on gun rights accessible to the public? Instant information is most likely damaging to people's privacy. Could one access that information on someone who didn't even apply, just so they could know the status on individuals? If someone could easily access the ability for someone to own a gun what else would it take for anyone to just access that information?
  9. And what do you think about the privacy of people's personal information? You think anyone could set up a public use database for private gun sales that would be secure enough to work? Hell, our credit reporting companies can't even secure that data. There would have to be some real considerations of how people accessed that information.
  10. Funnily enough, I used to know a biker that he rode with back in the late 70's. He wanted to get a patch really badly. He got busted in a deal with drugs and guns and turned snitch. Now he's made his fortune doing the same thing, but he had to do it in Hawaii for the longest because, and these aren't my words, but if he did it in the continental u.s. because he'd have been killed. I think he finally outlived all the people that wanted him dead
  11. Appraisal license. The one where they want you to actually know a few things
  12. How is that 'canceling' Lee Greenwood? Is not like he's actually doing anything on the arts council.
  13. Here is the article. http://federalsafetynet.com/entitlement-spending.html This is the source for that graphic. The main dilemma of calling this group of programs 'entitlements" is that conservatives have turned that term into a dog whistle that means 'the poor that are sucking you dry." When we break out the list of entitlements, we see actual social programs that most of the rubes think of just welfare and probably school lunch and say to themselves 'we should cut those programs.' Then they rally against social security and Medicare cuts. But I digress. The problem isn't that we have any defense spending, the problem is that we have a defense lobby that helps shift policy and that has taken every chance they can to help get us into a 2t boondoggle that made us look like complete and utter morons to the world. These lobbies (looking at you as well, green energy) take things that are good for the country and turn them into programs that fail their intent. Look at the prison lobby and the war on drugs. It's a disgusting as the defense lobby. The military industrial complex has failed our country. But it hasn't failed the companies. In 2020, the CEOs of the Top 5 — Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Boeing — made more than $150 million. When expanded to other top company officers required to disclose their earnings, that number goes up to an astonishing $276 million.May 5, 2021
  14. It is disgusting. I wonder what program gave us more technology. Defense? Or NASA?
  15. You think the defense industry and the government are separate? The defense industry permeates the government with its lobby. Why do the defense industry even lobby the government? Why do they spend the money in order to affect policy? The funny thing is that you're bringing up a red herring about entitlements. Let's take a look. Break it down by program. Social security? Medicare? Medicaid? Sure, let's cut all those. But when you refer to entitlements you're trying to give us this thought of welfare queens, or welfare. That's why you use the word 'entitlements.' At least the 'entitlements' help people. Sure, the military is somewhat a jobs program. But the real question is why is there a defense lobby? Why do they spend shitloads of money trying to affect policy? Is there some sort of vested interest in war? I mean, gosh, who would even do such a thing? Quit being either naive or disingenuous. I can't tell which one it is, but it's shit nonetheless.
  16. I don't dislike the military. I dislike this country shoveling billions of dollars in cash into a military industrial complex that is definitely a net negative. Trillions of dollars in military spending and thousands of lives lost because your 'industry needed to justify all the spending and flex the 'were the most powerful military in the world' just to lose two wars to rock chucking terrorists. All while defense contractors con this budget out of congress with the fear lobby and get rich. Yup. That's a net negative, for sure. You fucking idiots think you're so eBay just because you conned the absolute dumbest people while paying off greedy politicians. Fucking bunch if grifting pencildick pussies
  17. Sure. I don't have very much inside knowledge, but I do know that industry is a net negative, and a big ol waste for us as a country. Congratulations on being a part of that for so long
  18. So, what you're telling us is that you've been a part of the industry that has sucked the largest amount of our government's budget for a long, long, time. And in that time, you've remained there, suckling the government's teat to little or no benefit to us all. And during that time, all while the defense lobby and the contractors made ungodly sums of money, while providing very limited good to your country, and while your whole industry benefited from massive artificial price floors, that makes you an expert in massive, artificial price floors. Makes sense
  19. Ok. Thanks for this suggestion. We email bombed the shit out of these addresses. Subject lines we used were along the lines of seeking prospectus for possible investment, among others. Also email bombed all their job ads with transcripts of our conversations and etc... 2 days later, refund achieved. Thanks to all for the suggestions Chalk one up for our team
  20. So she wasn't always ugly as sin? Damn. Best me to it. I think you missed the meth and the steroids, though. She has the trifecta.
  21. he'd roll over on his mom (yes, probably both ways) if he thought it'd give him 10 more minutes to live
