I think if confidence gets waylaid by quirky then it’s Sara. From the first episode. It was apparent she had great creativity and skills but confidence was a factor in her dishes that weren’t as well received or that got her sent to LCK and ultimately allowed Byron to bento box her. Last week should have been a double elimination. The talent gap comments are correct as it pertains to Maria and Jamie. They both knew they were DMW in that whole competition. To just throw a side on their dish that sucked showed me they both had sort of given up. “I’m not on Gabe and Dawn’s level so I’m just not going to go out swinging.” It do

Judges panel was like no Jamie you can’t give Maria your spot. Suck it up and get it eliminated next week OR go out swinging and one of the favorites will fuck up. Maria just felt like she was done. Maybe that’s confidence BUT to not just go out swinging with your best possible take on the family care package I don’t understand. Even the awesome ones can fuck up. Make your best dish. Don’t give up. Jeez.

Push comes to shove I doubt Jamie would've given it to her.  I'd bet a lot of money that they actually had it worked out beforehand.  If Jamie had been cut, Maria would've done the same.  Being on a show like this isn't just about winning, it's about getting famous.  Jamie has made some decent dishes, but her last dish looked like a tv dinner salisbury steak and rice or some shit.  She messed up rice.  Sorry, I just feel like Jamie's fake, I know I've said that a lot.

That may have been Maria's best effort.  She wasn't throwing the match, that was her best.

Watched it last night.  I cheered when Maria was gone.  Then I screamed in anguish when I thought Jamie was going to scheme her back in.  Pretty much agree with what everyone has stated in the past few posts.  Especially this...

This somewhat new phenomenon where people blame their shortcomings/losses on their own feelings or lack of confidence is really annoying.  It's also self-serving.  If I was trying out for a team and lost, I would just assume the others were better than me not that I was lacking the confidence to be as good as them.

Self serving is a good way to describe all of them, but especially Jaime and Maria.  Chota to a lesser extent, but homeboy got the chops.  Gabe and Dawn are really great chefs.  Maria is clearly out of her league and I think Tom keeps certain people around more because of story line than talent.

In all walks of life, a lot of people feign lack of confidence because they want others to say "oh no mija, you got it going on."  Nope, close the talent gap.

Top247 RB Kaytron Allen closing in on a decision with more visits coming
    ANDREW IVINS

BRADENTON, Fla. – Top247 running back Kaytron Allen is getting closer and closer to making a decision. The Virginia native told 247Sports at Under Armour’s Future 50 event on Saturday that he could make a commitment in two or three weeks.

“I don’t know yet, but I want to say July 4th,” Allen said when pressed for a timeline. “I got to let my mom know, but probably after these visits.”

Allen took his first official visit of the recruiting process last weekend to Penn State.

“They set the bar,” Allen admitted. “It’s more than what I expected, most definitely. I’m glad I took a visit there.”

It won’t be long before Florida gets a chance to entertain Allen as he’s set to take a midweek official visit to UF starting early Monday.

“I’m just looking for a great time. I want to see how the coaches are and stuff like that,” Allens said.

After Allen spends some time in Gainsville, he will make his way to Georgia on Friday for another official visit.

“Basically the same thing,” Allen said when asked what he wants to see in Athens. "Just see how the players are with each other and the bond and all that. When I went to Penn State, they all had great bonds and all that. Great coaches. Everybody was together.”

While Allen has always spoken highly of the Nittany Lions, Gators and Bulldogs, a fourth school is giving him something to think about and that’s Texas. Allen doesn’t know much about the Longhorns, but is planning to be in Austin the weekend of June 25 for an official visit.

“They are new,” Allen said. “It’s just the relationships, really. I knew some of the coaches when they were at Alabama.”

Allen is coming off a junior season at IMG Academy in which he ran for 515 yards and nine touchdowns while splitting carries with UGA signee Lovesea Carroll. He is listed at 5-foot-11, 220 pounds and is currently the nation’s No. 10-ranked running back per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

When an old man is asking you if “you want it” while in in a fighting stance, it may be time to reassess who you are fucking with. Guaranteed that dude kicked his fair share of ass over the years.

Reminds me of the Sooner bathroom brawl with the wrestlers.

  5. Finally watched the entire episode:

Agree with above, this challenge was bullcrap as Brooke is a rockstar who knows how to play the game.

Maria and Jaime's family totally screwed them over.  They wanted to be cute or emotional whereas the other three's families set them up to win.  Though, the other three are just that much better.  There's a talent gap.

Jaime offering her spot at the end to Maria was total self-serving, play to the camera bullshit.  Sorry I just am not a fan of her as I see right through her.

Did you guys know Maria is from Mexico?

SDG gets it. It’s hotter than f*** on the tarmac in Houston. You want to spend as little time as possible on the ground.

I think United’s boarding policy is a little better, but they get very cute, very early with the overhead bins.  Especially on week day, early morning business flights.

Air travel by its very nature is terrible. If you’re not flying private or first class, you might as well find the cheapest, fastest flight available. I’ll get flamed, but it’s for this reason that I like Spirit.

Nothing beats an early morning business flight to get sloshed on.  "yep,  I know, was supposed to land at 11 but dang it, we're delayed.

Excuse me sir, I specifically said the BACK ROOM at the Catalina Wine Mixer. You don't think a storage closet at the FCWM has barrels of wine?

IDK which damn mixer you go to, but I assure you, the ones I go to do not have barrels of wine.  The barrels and bright gaudy sign is all Nashville.  Those look like whiskey barrels.

Ok, have seen a couple of wineries that use barrels as tables, but usually with some sort of accutrement on top.

I don't mind Southwest in the sense of you at least get a boarding number and know what place in line you should stand. It's better than the old group boarding they did where it was just a mass of people jammed at the gate. Yeah, you'll get the obliviate that doesn't notice they actually need to stand where their number is and not just stand where they feel like it. I typically only do Southwest if I'm flying alone so it's easier just to grab an aisle seat somewhere. If it's a family flight, we opt for American and dedicated seats. I miss Virgin America. That was such an enjoyable flight experience. I do enjoy Southwest out of Burbank where you can go to the back of the plane as well as the front.

The mass of people just hovering at the gate is part of my issue with flying American. Yeah, you get a seat but unless you're higher than Group 4, sometimes you're not going to get an overhead space next to your seat. We're Group 5 thanks to our Citi card and that can be iffy at times. They also sometimes call both Groups 5 & 6 after 4 has gone through. A larger problem I have with American is not policing the number of overhead spaces being used by a person and letting passengers from the back half of the plane put stuff in the middle to front of the plane. Put the bag over your space.

I'm in OC and this middle aged lady is like "why does the sign say A's and B's?  I said they haven't called the B's go sit down.  And yet, she just can't accept that?  Sit down, let the A's board and then they'll get to you

Idk, even with assigned seatings there are assholes wanting to board early.  Unassigned seating just accentuates it.  The overhead stuff can certainly be annoying, especially those that feel the need to put their damn coat up there.
