Melvyn Bragg will no longer be hosting In Our Time.
If you've never listened to an episode, give it a shot. It's a panel show with three different academics each week covering topics from math, history, science, literature, and everything in between.
The school I teach at has a growing Nepalese population. I met several of the moms at open house this year and they were all smoke shows. I just feel like the board needs to know about my new Nepalese fetish and this seems like the best thread to mention it.
I do not understand why you kick the XP there. Down by 15 late in the game, go for the two-point conversion now. If you make it, you're only down one score. If you miss it, you know you need two scores to win the game and you can plan around that.
Edit: just saw the fumble. Holy Shit!
One other thought on Trump at the US Open. The camera cut to him right after Alcaraz won. The crowd is going crazy, Alcaraz is hugging his coach, and Trump is just standing there with a scowl on his face. He is so fucking narcissistic that he can't even find joy in someone else's happiness. He just watched the culmination of an amazing two-week run by Alcaraz. Seriously, the man lost one set total in the tournament and just destroyed his biggest rival. Everyone is amazed and Trump can only think about himself. Clearly, it's not his worst trait, but it is infuriating.
Need some help from the surly hivemind: we're doing a family trip to Rome in December. My parents (in their 70s), my son (17 years old), and I want to go to a Roma match at Stadio Olimpico. Is there anything I need to know before going? I see some good seats on stubhub. Is it just as easy as buying them and downloading the tickets like I would for an American sporting event? My parents are still very spry and active. They go to every LSU home football game (and several away games) so they're used to stadium walks, stairs, big crowds, etc. Is there anything I should be concerned about with them and accessibility?
