  1. I say go for it. But I grew up in South Louisiana, so you should take that into account when weighing my advice.
  2. The first episode was bad-ass, especially the ,and hooked me in. The other episodes have been solid, but nothing amazing. European landscapes and car chases on cobblestone streets are enough to keep me entertained.
  3. What do y'all use to carry water on long runs? I got a belt that holds a couple of bottles, but it's constantly sagging down as I run. I need something new.
  4. Way to be an example of Christ's love, deacon.
  5. My wife has the Goodwill bag in the trunk of her car that she is going to take "during lunch one day this week". Poor thing hasn't had a proper lunch break in five months, apparently.
  6. It'll be 8:30 if we're lucky. Probably closer to 8:45 or 9.
  7. Stolen from bluesky: Gaetz is withdrawing so he can spend more time with someone else's kids.
  8. Exactly. As a public school teacher, if I was able to indoctrinate your kids and make them do anything I wanted, I would start by making them DO THEIR FUCKING HOMEWORK AND BRING A PENCIL TO CLASS!
  9. At this point, I would take Wilson the Neighbor. Come to think of it, Wilson the Neighbor is about as good as we're going to get.
  10. If Nelson Mandela had braces, why didn't he just chew threw the jail bars and escape?
  11. OK, that's just silly. Give the MAGA followers a little bit of credit. At least they know that he went to the moon after his dad, Han Solo.
  12. Federer's tribute to Nadal. If anyone needs me, I'll be over here letting the dust in my house get to me. "As you get ready to graduate from tennis, I've got a few things to share before I maybe get emotional. Let's start with the obvious: you beat me -- a lot. More than I managed to beat you. You challenged me in ways no one else could. On clay, it felt like I was stepping into your backyard, and you made me work harder than I ever thought I could just to hold my ground. "You made me reimagine my game -- even going so far as to change the size of my racquet head, hoping for any edge. I'm not a very superstitious person, but you took it to the next level. Your whole process. All those rituals. "Assembling your water bottles like toy soldiers in formation, fixing your hair, adjusting your underwear... All of it with the highest intensity. Secretly, I kind of loved the whole thing. Because it was so unique -- it was so you. "And you know what, Rafa, you made me enjoy the game even more. OK, maybe not at first. After the 2004 Australian Open, I achieved the No. 1 ranking for the first time. I thought I was on top of the world. And I was -- until two months later, when you walked on the court in Miami in your red sleeveless shirt, showing off those biceps, and you beat me convincingly. All that buzz I'd been hearing about you -- about this amazing young player from Mallorca, a generational talent, probably going to win a major someday -- it wasn't just hype. "We were both at the start of our journey and it's one we ended up taking together. Twenty years later, Rafa, I have to say: What an incredible run you've had. Including 14 French Opens -- historic! You made Spain proud ... you made the whole tennis world proud. "My final match. It meant everything to me that you were there by my side -- not as my rival but as my doubles partner. Sharing the court with you that night, and sharing those tears, will forever be one of the most special moments of my career. "Rafa, I know you're focused on the last stretch of your epic career. We will talk when it's done. For now, I just want to congratulate your family and team, who all played a massive role in your success. And I want you to know that your old friend is always cheering for you, and will be cheering just as loud for everything you do next."
  13. I'm getting "Trump makes Romney dine with him" vibes. Seriously, dinner is his way of making people bend the knee, right?
  14. Is there an option on bluesky to see the first unread post when I refresh instead of the newest post? This shit is driving me nuts.
  15. If this guy is the new hire you're training at the "pharmacy", you've got bigger problems than just a job.
  16. Yeah, my wife has the same problem and always says she's too tired for the hole thing.
  17. I guess I'm in the minority, because I really didn't like the series. There was one fantastic episode and that's about it. I finished it because I was already pot committed, but I found myself getting distracted during the finale and really didn't care what happened in the end. It didn't work as a superhero show, because there was no mention of any superhero (until the last minute of the last episode). It didn't work as a gangster show, because it was too silly and campy and it just ripped off The Sopranos (everything with his mother), The Godfather (terrible attempt at the Baptism Scene in the last episode), and Goodfellas (flashbacks where he's fawning over gangsters) without adding anything original.
  18. What able-bodied, adult male needs help spraying a wasp nest? I'm glad Colt is getting some airtime, but that's stupid.
