  1. I have it muted so I couldn't hear the refs announcement. Was it disallowed because the lineman was too far downfield when the ball was passed? I didn't think it would be illegal touching since the receiver touched the ball first.
  2. Yep. I saw an ad for a weight loss pill scam ("as seen on Shark Tank!") at least ten times today even after trying to block it. Ridiculous.
  3. Utah still has the most fucked up liquor laws. I went to a nice beer bar in downtown Salt Lake. Got there and noticed they didn't have many taps, but had a ton of different beers in bottles. Because in Utah, beer on tap can only be 3%, but bottled beer can be full strength. One of the people I was with asked the bartender, "What are your happy hour specials?" The bartender said, "There are no happy hours in Utah." I laughed thinking that he was joking, but apparently it's illegal to offer discounts on alcohol.
  4. I made it about 15 minutes into the latest episode before I bailed. I'm done with this show. Y'all let me know if it gets any better.
  5. So you're argument is that her response is not "business as usual", but it is a "tale as old as time"? Fuck off, troll.
  6. You're a little late with that idea. Fox News already exists.
  7. But what happens to the anal beads when the bathtub defecation ... nevermind, I don't need to know.
  8. "So far" being the key words here. But trying to use a NY Post article to argue "Gee, young people these days focus on feelings more than statistics and evidence" as if this is some sort of new phenomenon is so utterly ridiculously stupid. I still can't decide if he is truly that stupid or just a bad troll. I could be convinced either way.
  9. Y'all need to start an "Optometrist recs?" thread in the help board.
  10. I'll do the summary, but I'm going to just write it like I did book reports in high school. "In conclusion, the author is correct. Power tool batteries truly are the best of times, but also the worst of times."
  11. Find a good ear doctor and have them test you. Everyone's hearing loss is a little different and they can go through all the different types that would work for you. If you're in the North Austin/Round Rock area, PM me for a great recommendation. Your insurance should cover most or all of the cost. I have pretty shitty insurance and mine covered a nice pair of mid-quality aides. The aides I have play white noise in the background. You get used to it pretty quick and it masks the tinnitus sound. Tinnitus is basically your brain coping with the fact that there is no sound of certain frequencies. It's why most people's tinnitus gets worse in quiet areas. The white noise gives your ears some noise to process.
  12. Same here. All hearing aids will help some with tinnitus, but there are certain brands that will mask it nearly completely. Talk to your doctor for a referral to a specialist and they can help pick out a good type for you.
  13. Did you eat a meal with him? Did you crumble any crackers in your soup?
  14. I'm not going to read that list, because fuck 'em for the click bait. But if The Americans and The Leftovers aren't in the top ten, the list is bullshit.
  15. I am happy to report that the story has a happy ending. The young child's mother was able to get a ride from Fort Myers to Orlando with the Kenosha Kickers.
  16. Good luck, Maalik. I will always root for you and your new school. Well, except in March.
  17. We now have exclusive footage from the ACC security cameras of the FSU lawyers trying to view the contract.
  18. Is this one of those inside jokes that I don't know about or is this a real thing?
  19. Saw it this afternoon. I'm not a wrestling fan at all and the only thing I knew about the story was that the family had some tragedies. I quickly realized that "had some tragedies" was a massive understatement. Fantastic movie. Depressing, but Lily James made me feel better.
