  1. Watch international test-level rugby. The rules were changed to minimize any contact with a call-carrier’s head. Head contact has been substantially reduced, and players are still able to make tackles.
  2. When a right-footed punter mishits it, which he obviously did, you can have a fair amount of right to left movement, which is why it came back toward the sideline where it landed despite going out much closer to the line of scrimmage.
  3. Take the touchback? Nah, I think we’ll start at the 7 instead.
  4. How do our playoff chances look at 7-5?
  5. I don’t want to see a train wreck of MY team!
  6. After more than a decade of mediocre basketball, I’d rather just watch a train wreck.
  7. Quoting myself. Looks like the answer was that this deal only works with the big dogs on board.
  8. Probably should just turn it off now.
  9. I saw the same thing you did live, then the replay showed it was just an incredible play by the defender. Credit to him.
  10. The triplerooski!
  11. Holy no-call Batman.
  12. Dong!
  13. That’s the beauty of sovereign immunity my friend.
  14. Mikal’s definitely a Democrat (although his wife is not). I wouldn’t be surprised he’s spoken at a FedSoc event. Sometimes they invite a speaker to take the liberal position, or the pro-tort-plaintiff position.
  15. I know Mikal pretty well—well enough that he and I were texting last night—but his motivations can be a mystery. My working theory has been he knew the Eastlands either because he lives on a ranch in Mountain Home and/or from church.
  16. He said he was doing it pro bono.
  17. Yetter Coleman is counsel on their own petition for several families. They might be too smart on some matters, but that’s why Lanier is such a good counterpart.
  18. Lanier is the best trial lawyer in the country. Yetter Coleman is one of the best boutique law firms in the country. Along with Breen, that’s about as good a group as you could get.
  19. Sure, but don’t they usually transfer in that situation? I seem to recall lots of authority that plaintiff’s choice of forum means jack shit in tort cases.
  20. I get why they don’t want to file in Kerr County, but how do you keep venue in Travis County?
  21. Louisiana, where W&C has little to no cachet, especially when compared with the Louisiana executive.
  22. It would be interesting to see how the deal docs account for opt outs by big programs like USC and Michigan. Is there a set step-down of the deal price? How much? Does anything just kill the deal altogether?
