  1. Yes. I met him a few weeks back and he had a tight Nike shirt on.
  2. Final check-in and quick summary of Purdue-Nebraska. Final score Nebraska 28, Purdue 10 Purdue had a total of 224 yards of offense: 55 on the first drive of the 2nd half (FG) and 75 yards for a TD to bring the game to 28-10. Before the final drive, they had more penalty yards than offense yards. Both teams stink. Purdue stinks more. I *think* Hudson Card is now the first ex-Longhorn QB with a losing record to Nebraska and he's now 0-2 (at Purdue). EDIT to add: Card has not improved at all since he left Texas. Still uses the same spin moves to try to get away from sacks. Still holds the ball too long. Still thinks he's faster than everyone else. Pros: Weather was awesome. 73 degrees and overcast during first half; sunny in 2nd half when I was in the shade. Alumni band + entire band halftime show was great. Matt Rhule got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty Ticket cost $10.29 including $5.43 of fees. Purdue blocked 2 FGs in first half. 3rd quarter took 28 minutes, 11 of which was commercial timeout Cons: Low level of play all around. Glimpse of hope for Purdue in 2nd half Purdue is slow and small Nebraska fans travel well Got poured on as I walked back to where I was staying.
  3. After two penalties for 25 yards on the same play against Nebraska, Nebraska completes a 27 yard screen pass on second and 28. Purdue proceeds to get a facemask penalty. Nebraska scores a couple plays later. Purdue offense: 149 yards. Penalties: 165 pick 6 by Card. 28-3. Both teams really suck.
  4. Nebraska TD to go up 14-3. Might be enough.
  5. Purdue: Card sacked on 3rd and 4.
  6. Nebraska up 7-3 over Purdue. Purdue has 144 yards of offense and 135 penalty yards. Brutal.
  7. Purdue leads 3-0 after a 8:18 drive to start 3rd.
  8. Trust me, it’s almost as bad in person. Alumni band was great at halftime.
  9. I am at the Nebraska- Purdue game. They both suck. 0-0 at half. Purdue has 89 yards of offense and 90 penalty yards. Blocked 2 NU kicks so far.
  10. This. Listen to @immamac
  11. For the uninitiated
  12. Had a great call with @troph this morning. The people are what is so great about this community.
  13. Just saw the postgame was sponsored by JC Penney, so it makes a little more sense.
  14. I cannot believe the spouses of these halftime commenter guys let them out of the house dressed like clowns.
  15. That's offensive to dumpster fires.
  16. My son and I saw, in person, 2-29 Detroit at 24-6 Boston, in Boston, on Dec 28. It was 2 really shitty games packed into 1. Detroit led 66-47 at half. Boston tied it by the end of the 3rd Q and ultimately won in OT. Depending on perspective that was either 2 really shitty games or 2 transcendent games all packed into 1. It was entertaining, though
  17. Thx! I will DM @troph
  18. This thread is a little old, but I figured I'd bump it... I have a specific question for an employment attorney (rather not post details here) and am curious if @troph or @TwiceHorn are still the go-to? Or @Ghost of LL
  19. No one in here is confused about the level of play. No one is asserting that WNBA is "must watch" for everyone. Some of us enjoy watching it sometimes, esp. when Clark is playing. In the late 80s and early 90s, Conradt had her teams practice against a men's team composed of former HS Varsity players who were playing/winning the men's intramural leagues. Yes, the men won most of the time and it is not surprising. Asserting that a HS JV Boys team could beat a WNBA team is absurd. I enjoy the missed layup highlights as much as the next guy, but don't comprehend the insistence of some to watch it, hate it, comment on it, argue with those who say "stop watching" and then watch more. If it sucks, turn it off. Perhaps a "WNBA is total garbage" thread would be more appropriate for some of you.
  20. Regardless of outcome, they are going back to Indiana, but I know what you mean. Step it up!
  21. Fify.
  22. Several of you already mentioned some of this, but I will summarize: Caleb Williams was a 5* QB with a 99 rating from 247. Plus, he had coaching from the likes of Riley and Cale Gundy. And he was the #2 QB prospect behind Ewers. #8 overall. Hawkins is a 3-4* QB with an 82 rating from 247. #20 QB and #297 overall. And he jumped from #35 to #20 late in the recuiting cycle it appears. He's coached by Littrell and Joe Jon Finley. HUGE advantage: WIlliams. The similarities between Williams and Hawkins are superficial, as indicated in many of your posts.
  23. IMO, you do that to keep your credibility. And to manage the locker room. Arnold clearly stinks. Hawkins gave them a spark. If we can see it, the players can see it. Hawkins needs all the snaps with the 1st team this week. That said, this could also be fool's gold in that they both could suck. Hawkins entered the game with 1:40 left in the 2nd, down 19-3. OU did nothing meaningful on offense until mid-Q4. Drives of 6, 5, 21, and 5 yards preceded the first meaningful drive of 68 yards (TD) that completed at 8:30 left in Q4. For reference, OU had 222 yards of total offense. 63% of that came in Q4, when Tennessee's 2nd and 3rd team defense was likely in the game.
