Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
Oh God, I hadn't thought about the "SEC ready" reports that are coming.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
That's his way of shitting down his leg. It's cowardice and mental freezing, and vs Arky he would have taken as many or more sacks. I'm not saying Card had anything defensible of his performance, but shit, Quinn isn't an "unflappable" guy, he's a fake it till you make it type that sees his first pass broken up and nearly picked and then every pass afterward is an abomination downstream of his scared shitless reaction. The overthrows, throwaways, and off balance deliveries happen because he's fucking scared

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Imagine if it had been Quinn last year starting on the road vs Arky with that crowd and energy holy fucking shit. If any fan of college football is wondering what a QB actively shitting down both legs looks like, we're seeing it with Ewers this season.

It's not like Jordan Whittington is a twitchy burner, especially after the injuries and bulking. Greathouse will be a good replacement for him, perhaps an upgrade if we're honest. A smaller guy I thought would be a great slot prospect in LV Bunkley Shelton hasn't done shit, including now at OU, just one example but there's no reason not to like the mismatch approach to evaluation- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

Great win for the horns, but, holy shit Oklahoma's luck with head coaches is officially confirmed over. Venables is so, so bad- Texas D-Line Talk
Best set of highlights all season just absolutely brutalized by slack jawed Tim Brando As for DL talk, Byron Murphy is easily our best interior guy now- Game Week West Virginia
I think the safeties played poorly, not what I would characterize as "safe". In particular, Jerrin Thompson on the first, and arguably most important, of their numerous 4th down conversions displayed an outstanding lack of football iq and playmaking ability. 4th and 7, Tech was desperate to respond to our early td and McGuire really needed it to fire up his team and send a message. Had it failed, and it should have been at least reviewed but whatever, Tech simply crumbles within the first quarter. We would have taken a lightning quick 14-0 lead and more importantly the defense would have gotten some juice from the turnover. Tech motions their receiver, with the obvious back and forth tell, "we're trying to free him up for the throw" action. Thompson picks him up and keeps a deep cushion, and fucking BAILS well past the first down marker as the Tech guy simply stops and waits for the pass. 4th and fucking 7 and you don't protect the sticks... Not even a particularly well anticipated pass mind you. Thompson gets back just in time for the courteous push after ball is secured and both feet are down. Shortly after, 7-7 and Tech is feeling self assured about never punting again- Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
Compare Sanders on our last offensive play vs Cupp on the next play.- Anyone else out of fucks to give?
I expected more from Jeff Banks. Sanders is ass my dude right now and needs more time in the incubator. He's a real negative in inline blocking or pulling situations and as a coach you have to realize when you can afford to give nascent potential freedom to fuck up and improve, and when you fucking can't afford it. Helm? Davis? And if there isn't anyone else you know won't whiff on critical blocks, go out and get your transfer yesterday (billingsley lmao). I realize there are myriad other obvious things to bitch about, but he was supposed to be standout as a coach. Maybe he's spread too thin on responsibilities, but shit man. Disappointing- Texas vs tech - 2:30pm on ESPN

I would expect the average 15 year old to have more innate sense than this. Texags stinks of half a century plus of brainwashing- Texas DB & LB Talk
Well that's about as nice a way of saying Bush should not be on the field in a competitive game environment. What is it with coaches and making obvious statements lmao... Jamison deserves major credit for responding to one of his biggest weaknesses and something UTSA was obviously attacking, his technique on in swinging slants. If not for compensating his game and cutting off at least two critical completions against well thrown balls we give up another possibly 11 points. Ford is bad at tackling in space, and he doesn't have much ceiling left to improve in that regard, he and DTD are still superior to what we had going most of last year though, I won't complain too much. Giving the safeties the generic, had a nice game, isn't doing anyone any favors. They were nowhere to be seen on deep attempts and any half decent passing attack will notice they don't have the range to help out watts or the other cbs, none of whom are truly capable of playing lockdown coverage. The success of the defense depends on every unit playing at least solid, there is zero leeway for any guy to be out of sync, there is no athletic beast on the defense that can compensate. Improvement from last year is massive, but don't expect to see many repeats of the Bama effort imo- Roadkill vs trampling longhorns LHN 7 PM
Card better not give us another Kansas pick 6- Roadkill vs trampling longhorns LHN 7 PM
Bijan mailing it in, Sanders deserves absolutely zero hype as of yet, and Immamac is the dumbest poster I've seen maybe ever- Texas O-line talk

I tend to like your posts, but... The recruiting rankings aren't wrong? In what way? Are they "right" then? The rankings are the least scientific part of recruiting, which already has less certainty than Hellen Keller dead-reckoning the Santa María in an Atlantic squall to find India. What I have observed with Texas recruiting over the last decade is we've been incredibly lucky just to get our #1 targets to commit, and those that did, the best ended up never making it on campus and then tearing it up elsewhere. The amount of secondary, tertiary, quaternary backup plans that have been pursued has been too damn high and I don't give a damn if the services grant them mid 4 star status, the recruiting effort has been mediocre at best. When we see consistent wins at our clear #1 targets at more than a few positions, i.e. recently with Banks, Campbell, Mitchell, Ewers, Manning, Johntay... then we're cooking with gas. I don't have my mind made up about Sark yet, at all.. but if he had gone 7-5 last year it's still not up to my personal standard, and 5-7 makes no difference to me. First guy to 10 wins gets my vote, but no one is doing that with some of the clowns starting last year- 2022 Fall Camp: Drippin'
