  1. Sure, but without NIL and especially coaching turnover, it's most likely yet another "close but no cigar" ending for both Banks and Williams.
  2. Serious question, where do we think he ends up? I have doubts as to even his base level athleticism, much less football IQ and mental toughness. When the career fan highlight is a teed up hit on a wr that didn't even result in a turnover, rather a penalty and an ejection... That's just a sad sad career at a school like Texas. I'm glad no one is masochistic enough yet to make a career lowlights vid because that sucker would be at least a half hour long

  4. Yeah.... Might need to be a bit more specific there
  5. I'll take a gander. Helga Lovekaty
  6. So what if it's A&M? Then we'll go all in on Weigman. They're 1a 1b players in the state for 2021/2 and there's no fucking way both of them stick around long with the other in the same room. What we don't want is Ewers going to UGA or some place like that
  7. Surly Let's Discuss! Episode 2: Defensive End Takes Daniel Carson Rob "Max" Cummings Marqez Bimage Michael Williams Myron Warren Peter Mpagi ... Thank God for Ossai
  8. None of us really know whether proper due diligence on Johnson was done or not... And yes he was "ranked highly" with many offers etc. etc.... What I recall though is he was quite an easy bag for where he was ranked. Texas didn't really fight anyone for his commitment and seeing as how many of his higher end offers have serious bag game and we didnt/don't then we can fill in some blanks. Herman probably did know about the lack of passion but probably took him anyway because 1) makes the class look good, and 2) thought he and Yancy could force *ahem* corch him up to be a good player.
  9. Just as an fyi, some posts up stream mentioning BJ are in reference to Brian Jones.
  10. Rising went to Utah knowing full well he would have to wait a couple of years and then perform to start, same as here at UT. Our coaches could have put their efforts into securing one and not the other, rather they went with the "try to keep both" approach while not seeing the Thompson play for what it was, a fucking play. Like you said, Thompson didn't have the pick of a better situation, Rising had more variety of options. Assuring him of a post-Ehlinger future and letting Thompson go and maybe even calling the bluff was something they could have done, but for whatever reason, didn't execute on it. QB room management is one of the most important things in football, and now we're left with 2 shitty QBs competing for losses and mediocrity with the more tenured guy emptying lockers, threatening portal action and generally just throwing shit fits when he doesn't get his way . Beating OU probably was the thing ol' Chucky and Casey wanted most, and I'm not surprised the offense and rest of the team have been in freefall since the choke job. Now they're in all out fuck it mode and we're left with race card bullshit accusations involving donors, coaches and team "leaders" during a 6/7ish losing streak Card seems to have his own stans with some influence lurking around too, not that it fucking matters now. It's all a shit show
  11. Rising and C Thompson entered the portal within a week of each other, and one of them rescinded after the other took off. There was plenty of staff interaction during that time and if you think the coaches didn't have some sway on the end result then there's another dull knife in the drawer
  12. Casey and his dad treating the entirety of the college athletics experience like Game of fucking Thrones has been such a beating. Allowing this guy to play politics with the QB room over the years is inexplicable ineptitude. Grateful Sark has the balls that Herman never had to cut bait on them both, although I suspect things will only get uglier from here before he's fully kicked out. Out of Rising, Jackson, and Thompson, we let the better ones go for a locker room cancer that is nowhere near good enough on the field to outweigh the trouble. Being a self absorbed little bitch is what brings out the race baiting, not that there's any specific truth to it. Losers that start to struggle will go to any lengths to save some face. Stooping that low out of self interest has to have a damaging effect on the rest of the team, especially those that have deeper connections with the guy... Several upperclassmen come to mind
  13. Yes To'oto'o is leagues better and was the real prize in the portal last cycle, doesn't matter though because we never had a chance there
  14. He's slow but then again, we're using Brockermeyer. Would you like Brockermeyer or Gaoteote?
  15. I don't know anything from anyone in the know, but isn't this what most thought? we the fans wanted Herman gone for football reasons but I always believed the University did the canning pretty much solely due to the negative PR from all that mess. Largely the same group of players that became apparently really invested in off the field advocacy is now being expected to forget it all and focus on football? Their give a fuck meter is just so low, I would be curious to know what else you heard
  16. Right, if we're not careful the transfer portal will worsen the state of affairs and render us a permanent early retirement school with nice weather and good food
  17. We seem to be agreeing on many points. There's no reason why a coaching staff at Texas can't evaluate for love of the game and resiliency on top of whether they also run track or not. Herman's recruiting office pushed life after football and JMBLYA concerts harder than any serious football school has any business doing. National consensus about the team being soft now is a really fucking obvious consequence of self selecting for anything other than excellence in football. Yes the AD probably looves taking a few kids from St Louis and Louisiana every year that they can turn into feel good stories like a benevolent charitable social worker, whose parents will tweet out to the ether about how their kids were saved by the University. Our rivals are selling SEC and NFL, it makes little surprise the filtering for softness occurs before the guys even get on campus.
  18. Yeah the veiled CR is just personal bias on your part. Austin has tons of things to do, and things that young people want to do for fun. Texas PR and coaches in the past regime spent a hell of a lot of time and effort selling Austin as an adventurous fun-loving city, rather than anything at all to do with football. Cue Carrington tweet and his celebrity attire on the sidelines. What type of guy do you think responded to the pitch? Austin didn't corrupt anyone, we've been recruiting guys to come here and have fun
  19. Not trying to dog your idea because it's just a fun thought, but where do you see the blocking coming from while Roschon processes all of these pretty difficult decisions? Brewer? Wiley? C Jones? If we can't play straight up on basic plays let's just forget the fancy stuff
  20. I go back and forth between WR and LB. Safety 3rd worst
  21. Brian Hartline
  22. Blippi exploring museums, how things are made, and showcasing all kinds of machinery and vehicles beats the pants off of cocomelon or the inane Paw Patrol type animation shows. Bluey is on another level though, has a ton of heart and really explores healthy family dynamics
