  1. Ya think? A handful of posters a few pages back were chalking it up to maturity issues and had Campbell penciled in the portal already. The well-known ability of this board to create a narrative out of absolutely nothing remains breathtaking, but not more so than the proclivity of certain troglodytes infesting these parts for responding to posts while missing the point entirely.
  2. That may be true, but why is he really missing the spring game?
  3. The last ~40 pages have largely consisted of people posting some variation of exactly what you just posted. You haven't added a single new insight or any new information, just one more post in this thread, which is...the very thing you are complaining about. Well done.
  4. I showed up to that Rose Bowl early in the morning with $1,000 in my pocket for one ticket, walked around the grounds for hours, asked every bus load of passengers that disembarked, and found not one ticket for sale at any price the entire day. Still have great memories of watching that game on your big TV. We might not have been inside the stadium, but we could hear and feel the roar of the crowd with every play. On 4th and 5, it felt like we had seats on the goal line and when VY scored, everyone was hugging each other in jubilation. Truly an unforgettable experience. Cheers.
  5. That gig didn't work out. He kept dropping clients' coverage.
  6. That was the peak of Malcolm Epps' Texas career on the onside kick. "And what might've been turns into 'What?' here in Lubbock."
  7. Satyanash reading this thread the past few days:
  8. Did someone say Nebraska?
  9. Texas isn't going to get moneywhipped, but also isn't interested in an old school bidding war. I understand what you're getting at, but can you fill in between the lines on the difference in approach?
  10. So Ewers feels like this about his decision? Might have to retire this soon if he makes the right choice this time.
  11. Yes, but how did Louisiana do against Iowa State last year? If only someone around here could give us the answer that question. It holds the key to everything.
  12. First game my wife attended in person. She must've asked me a hundred times if Texas was going to win. I kept telling her, "I don't know, but I like our chances." When tOSU scored with two minutes left to take the lead, she asked again if Texas was going to win. I said, "I don't know, but I like our chances," and when Quan Cosby dove across the goal line with 16 seconds left, she decided then and there that this Texas football thing is pretty great. Yes, dear, yes it is.
  13. You would think, but media speculation and a huge chunk of the discussion in this thread would suggest otherwise. Pods make no sense, imo, when two divisions is so clean.
  14. While I realize that traipsing through copious volumes of preposterously erroneous speculation is a good bit of what we do here, the tripe about pods really needs to go, imo. I've seen proposals with Tennessee, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Kentucky in one pod and Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia in another and that scheme doesn't stand out as remarkably worse than dozens of others floated in this thread. Aside from being too esoteric to effectively market, when a conference (pending any further additions) breaks down into two divisions of eight, providing both regional and competitive balance as well as preserving nearly all historically significant rivalries, a pod system simply isn't necessary or beneficial. It’s been said before, but a breakdown like this would work very nicely. Texas Oklahoma LSU Missouri Arkansas Texas A&M Ole Miss Miss State Alabama Georgia Florida Auburn Tennessee Kentucky South Carolina Vanderbilt
