  1. Arch has a reason to get a Mulligan, Sark does not. This wasn't his first rodeo against a highly talented team. "After thinking about it I would've xxxxxx" is not good coaching.
  2. I wasn't as pissed at Sark for going for it as the play call. Arch may be bigger and stronger than Quinn, but he's not going to plow through 2 LB's set up behind the DT's. When is the last time Texas had an OL that could move a good DL off the ball when they can see what's coming? I certainly can't remember. You have to spread it out and hit the open gap. There will be a gap if you spread it out like OSU did, even if it's a small gap. Baxter can get 1 yard in a small gap. And analytics are stupid ass when what you do well against what the opponent does well aren't part of the formula.
  3. I'm going to speculate that Quinn and Arch have a similar psychological makeup. They want to do well so bad the pressure overwhelms them causing them to freeze up, and just the opposite happens because their body is shaking. Some people have issues developed as children that 15-20 years to overcome even with counseling. It takes time and I don't blame Sark for that, IF it is an issue. A precision game requires total relaxation, just like golfing. Playing QB not like playing OL where you just just go all out physically and try to knock the other guy on his ass. Something is amiss because we know Arch has the arm talent, he's shown it. I think once Arch has some success and gains confidence he will be fine. And, as Sark said, he does better after he's been hit. Getting hit definitely knocks off some nerves.
  4. There are plenty of rankings and so called experts that were saying Texas has more talent than OSU. And the ESPN power index had Texas at 53%, and that's on the road. It would've been nearly 60% at home. How many people posting here picked OSU? I think myself and about 2 others, that's it. In fact someone posted that something like 98% of Texas fans picked Texas, but only 90% of OSU fans so that means Texas has the better chance to win. To be honest, I'm not sure at this point if I could pick who has the most talent, but I'm pretty damn sure who has the better coaching staff. Thank God at least we have coach K.
  5. I don't like Trailer either, but I loved the way he used misdirection, redirection, momentum, creating space to take advantage of an aggressive defense and get them out of position. Despite not much talent, UTSA was fun to watch. There was absolutely none of that from Sark. It was like watching GDGD again. It's absurd our OC get's schooled by coaches making 1/10 as much.
  6. It's possible Texas could lose to both OSU and GA twice this year. There's one thing I do know, Sark will never outcoach Day or Smart. He's too stubborn. I guess we can dream Lacey or Bell will be the next VY.
  7. Great start to the season beating racist Creighton in a sweep and getting some revenge. The Freshmen played like, well not like Freshmen. I thought everyone played well except Bunton. Which is ironic given she was the starter. Harvey played better than Bunton. If you're not ready for the dump over against a tall setter you're not playing smart VB.
  8. Lacey may be QB2 by the3 time SEC play rolls around. And that most certainly will be a good thing. You don't have to go out on a limb to suggest he has a much higher upside than Caldwell. Hopefully nothing happens to Arch, BUT. Too bad it's not working out for Owens, but another stud is coming in next year. Texas looking good even if Arch leaves early.
  9. I don't know who Dan Hope is, but at least he can make an honest assessment unlike your shit for brains fans. Most think our new starters at OL and DL are a bunch of Freshmen. "Overall, Texas has a few more players who are already proven in starting roles than Ohio State'". I'm floored anyone associated with the Fuckeyes typed that. At least he raises the average IQ of the Fuckeye fan base by about 20 points. These teams are really close, but I'll be honest too and give the advantage to the home team.
  10. I sure as hell wish we had a fanbase as ecstatic about the 1st game as Maryland and Tulane. They're so fucking hyped the only tickets left are so damn expensive only a millionaire can afford one.
  11. Hell if I know. The only thing I know about him is he's a RB from Cal and he's had some pre-season injury issues.
  12. I don't think it makes players tougher. I've never seen proof of that, only opinions. It definitely takes a toll on the body. Either they get injured or their bodies are worn out by the end of the season, or both.
  13. Took 15 min for the idiots to ask. Bullshit like, do you think you'll have the team ready to play I guess is more important.
  14. Unless you like listening to the EOT 18x you haven't missed anything, YET!
  15. If Venables plays Ott against Ill St. he's even dumber than I thought.
  16. We can thank Charlie and Mensa for that, and a guy named Patterson.
  17. Look out Louvre, Okoye is gonna come in and destroy the statue of Venus de Milo.
  18. That all sounds nice, but also a little too optimistic. The one thing that stands out to me are the comments about Wisner. Sark better be a helluva lot more concerned about winning football games than having a 1000 yard rusher. Provided the RB's stay healthy, there will be 2-3 more guys getting carries this year that had 0 carries last year. One of those guys may even prove to be better than Wisner.
  19. If you're going to quote me quote my comments. That statement is from an IT article someone posted. It has nothing to do with me and I'd say Arch is pretty damn fast for a QB.
  20. Dennis Weaver was such a pussy. If Clint Eastwood or Robert Mitchum had been driving that Plymouth that truck driver woulda been dead before they got 5 miles down the road.
  21. That's really interesting since Williams was the starter until he went down with injury. The real question is will he be back to his pre-injury ability, and how soon.
  22. It also helps when you have a WR block like Whittington. Damn he inflicted some pain.
  23. FSU will suck again so they don't have to get up for that one. Miami won't have Ward. I don't know about most hated, but I'm sure it's the game they want to win the most. And Texas just joining the SEC put us near the top of every SEC teams hate list. And it's certainly not like the ref's are going to do us any favors either.
  24. They were flat out embarrassed. Which certainly means we'll see a different UF this year. They certainly have it circled as the #1 most important game on their schedule. Even more so if Texas goes in #1. And it's not like we don't know we're every teams Super Bowl. I don't think Texas goes in lacking focusness, but every team plays better at home than on the road. When that plane lands in Gainesville, our players better have veins full of piss and vinegar.
