  1. What's funny about Elko "understanding what it takes" is that he's won 1 conference championship in 16 years as a FBS coach. That was a MAC championship in 2013.
  2. Just rewatched the offense and while Arch missed reads and could have played better on the day. Hero ball won't week in and week out but lets take a look at the situation going into his two INTs in the 4th quarter. The fact we were in the game late and this was not a blow out should give us a modicum of hope that the season is not yet over. 2 and 19 after two consecutive false starts on the O Line. Earlier on this drive he ran for a 1st down on 2nd and 20 after the O Line backed them up as well as a throw I will highlight at the end. 1st and 20 after another hold on the O Line. The previous set of downs he and Moore converted t on 3rd and 12 after two sacks nearly killed the drive before it started. Here are a couple of throw missed early that should have been either huge gains or a touch down. On an early 3 and out he had two of three passes face significant pressure off the jump. On the first play the only critiques are Endries is open the whole play or to dump to the RB earlier when pressure is felt. Here Mosley beats his man but Arch could not get a clean throw without getting pummeled after Mcclain gets let loose and not picked back up. A quicker throw here may have been completed but WR did his job and the QB made the right read/throw. I could go one for about 20 more of these that were either completed or not but the highlight of the day and the biggest takeaway from Arch's improvement was this pass being being on time and accurate to Moore for a 1st down. I was the biggest Quinn defender here but this would have been a sack last year. If the O Line is going to be a clown show for the rest of the year then this should give us some hope that he can win us some games with this kind of Grit.
  3. Taking into account yesterdays events while stealing Terry and Brooks last year, it remains laughable how many national talking heads said that Georgia was a better job than Texas.
  4. The Sun Belt going to Tripling down on the state of Louisiana is just lazy. Western Kentucky may be a good add in a new market but losing the Texas market as a whole is silly when Sam Houston is right there. Would add a solid FB and baseball member on Day 1
  5. I don't have it down to a verifiable science but I like to play the name game this early in the process. Without any context my initial thought on a guy named Lamar Brown was LSU or aggy, it just sounds like a dude who's been there for years already.
  6. My buddy is a fluid transfer specialist but went to Texas State. Not a good sign for us
  7. I watched it this afternoon. They're gonna be luke warm dog poop at QB and the O line is a turnstile. 8 wins would be a miracle for them.
  8. Lot of faith in a guy with no track record
  9. Anybody have this? Curious what the $$ looked like. https://www.on3.com/teams/ole-miss-rebels/news/will-texas-am-pull-chris-beard-away-from-ole-miss/
  10. From an Ole Miss mod Getting a high major program interested and willing to sweep your skeletons in the closest is a big step for Beards image. This likely sets the tone for one of the Blue Bloods to hire him the next time they come open.
  11. Beard's buyout for leaving for another job. Article from August '24 https://www.clarionledger.com/story/sports/college/ole-miss/2024/08/21/chris-beard-contract-ole-miss-basketball-salary-texas/74853744007/
  12. He was coming the second we fired pierce regardless of that incident. From pre tournament last year.
  13. 99% of viewers will be watching the women games on their tvs. Those tvs will be talking about Texas men's and women's basketball during the game. That's a good thing for both programs.
  14. OTF dropping a 10 minute video the second the news drops is objectively funny.
  15. If it's a massive name it's gonna go down today while the bigger men's games are going on. If Miller then tomorrow so the news can lead into the women's game and work to boost that game.
  16. I've seen plenty of people say Miller would get out coached by the likes of Bruce Pearl and Oats. Here's how many times each has been to the S16 or better. Miller: 8 total. 5 at Arizona and 3 at Xavier Pearl: 4 at Tennessee and 2 at Auburn. Oats: 3 at Bama and a 4th if they win again. Also regarding his lack of championships and F4s at Arizona. There hasn't been a NC won by a school west of Waco Texas since 1997. He'll raise the floor of where the program has been since the late 2000s.
  17. Drunken thoughts here. Self will be the coach at the university of Texas next season.
  18. If you squint hard enough Sean Miller is a solid floor setting hire that should be considerably cheaper than the no brainers. Went on a run at Arizona where they went to the S16 five of seven years and won the conference five of eight years. I'm at least curious what he'd do in the NIL era at Texas.
  19. I completely agree in a normal year but man the crop of coaches that are realistic makes Lloyd look like Coach K.
