  1. 99% of viewers will be watching the women games on their tvs. Those tvs will be talking about Texas men's and women's basketball during the game. That's a good thing for both programs.
  2. OTF dropping a 10 minute video the second the news drops is objectively funny.
  3. If it's a massive name it's gonna go down today while the bigger men's games are going on. If Miller then tomorrow so the news can lead into the women's game and work to boost that game.
  4. I've seen plenty of people say Miller would get out coached by the likes of Bruce Pearl and Oats. Here's how many times each has been to the S16 or better. Miller: 8 total. 5 at Arizona and 3 at Xavier Pearl: 4 at Tennessee and 2 at Auburn. Oats: 3 at Bama and a 4th if they win again. Also regarding his lack of championships and F4s at Arizona. There hasn't been a NC won by a school west of Waco Texas since 1997. He'll raise the floor of where the program has been since the late 2000s.
  5. Drunken thoughts here. Self will be the coach at the university of Texas next season.
  6. If you squint hard enough Sean Miller is a solid floor setting hire that should be considerably cheaper than the no brainers. Went on a run at Arizona where they went to the S16 five of seven years and won the conference five of eight years. I'm at least curious what he'd do in the NIL era at Texas.
  7. I completely agree in a normal year but man the crop of coaches that are realistic makes Lloyd look like Coach K.
  8. Fastest coach to 50 wins and either a conference tournament or regular season championship in the first 3 years if his career. Also add 2 sweet 16s so far. Thats better than most we have talked about.
  9. Nico would like a word with you /s
  10. Damn I'm getting old
  11. Happy we're in but this bloated bracket really kills the importance of playing regular season games. I'll never get worked up about losing to a team like South Carolina ever again
  12. And I'm not comparing our crowd to Kansas for the record. But his old boss Mark Few would likely have good reviews about the new environment at Moody.
  13. Heres Lloyd calling out his fan base after the kansas game yesterday. Maybe it's not too far fetched for him to leave for a job like Texas.. surlyx.com/PHNX_Wildcats/status/1898576979902738709?t=TOlh3W2uGZoFTy67uSUCow&s=19
  14. Beards history has made him a no go for Indiana. Its gonna take him a few more cycles to get the bigger jobs he's wanting.
  15. Miller would be fine with the current state of the program/cbb as a whole but the biggest negative is his age. Too young to be a 5-7 year stop gap and will be good enough to make an E8 in year 2 and not get fired until he's in his mid 60s. Also our fans will always know him as the guy who lost to RT forced us to hire him in the first place.
  16. The answer is Luka.
  17. The 2022 team wasn't perfect but we got boned in that Purdue game. Then we would have had a S16 game against #15 St Peters to worry about.
  18. The Shaka love is wild to me. He has only gotten out of the first weekend once since his Final Four run in 2011 and proceeded to lose to NC State in the S16 last year. He has also only won his conference regular season once. He underperforms in the regular season and in the tournament but apparently we were all wrong in wanting him gone.
  19. This sets us up for Arch at #1 next year so that's neat
  20. Damn was halfway through my dream staff with him.
  21. Probably is our Golden replacement. Not huge speed but hands seem to be really good when contested. He obviously had the huge drop against us that was going to be a TD but from what i could tell that what only his 3rd drop of the year.
  22. That's awesome. Love those stories
  23. He coached under Dean Smith for a decade at UNC where they won a championship and rarely missed the s16 or better. Played under Bob Knight for 4 years and won the NIT while it was still a big deal. Also coached under him for a season and won a championship at Indiana as the assistant. Dan Hurley's father is one of the greatest HS basketball coaches of all time. Also Rhode Island had not made a tournament or won a game in almost 20 years up to that point. McCollum may be the guy going forward but playing under Steve Tappmeyer and coaching with Doig Moe doesn't bring much confidence. He needs a few more years at the D1 level to get a high major job.
  24. With all eyes on August and a rematch with Ohio State let's look at how Texas has fared against the reigning National Champions. The 3 selectors used were the AP, Coaches, and FWAA final polls.
