  1. Probably is our Golden replacement. Not huge speed but hands seem to be really good when contested. He obviously had the huge drop against us that was going to be a TD but from what i could tell that what only his 3rd drop of the year.
  2. He coached under Dean Smith for a decade at UNC where they won a championship and rarely missed the s16 or better. Played under Bob Knight for 4 years and won the NIT while it was still a big deal. Also coached under him for a season and won a championship at Indiana as the assistant. Dan Hurley's father is one of the greatest HS basketball coaches of all time. Also Rhode Island had not made a tournament or won a game in almost 20 years up to that point. McCollum may be the guy going forward but playing under Steve Tappmeyer and coaching with Doig Moe doesn't bring much confidence. He needs a few more years at the D1 level to get a high major job.
  3. With all eyes on August and a rematch with Ohio State let's look at how Texas has fared against the reigning National Champions. The 3 selectors used were the AP, Coaches, and FWAA final polls. Overall Record: 9-7-1 Regular Season Record: 5-6-1 Postseason Record: 4-1 Home Record: 2-0 Road Record: 2-1 Neutral Record: 5-6-1 1939 - H TCU W 25-19 1940 - H Texas A&M W 7-0 1951- N Oklahoma W 9-7 1952- N Tennessee W 16-0 Cotton Bowl 1956 -N Oklahoma L 0-45 1957 - N Oklahoma L 7-21 1961 -N Ole Miss W 12-7 Cotton Bowl (FWAA) 1965 - A Arkansas- L 24-27 (FWAA) 1975 - N Oklahoma L 17-14 1976 - N Oklahoma T 6-6 1986- N Oklahoma L 12-47 1990 - N Miami L 3-46 Cotton Bowl 1996 - N Nebraska W 37-27 Big 12 Title 1998 - A Nebraska W 20-16 (Coaches Poll) 2001 - N Oklahoma L 3-14 2005 - N USC W 41-38 BCS National Championship 2024- A Michigan W 31-21 2025- A Ohio State ???? Honorable Mention- Alabama was named the 1964 Champions pre bowl but lost in the 1965 Orange bowl to Texas 21-17.
  4. It will likely be tOSU in a multi score win but if history continues the last two national championship runner ups both beat Texas in a close game some point during the year. 2022- TCU beats Texas 17-10 2023- Washing Beats Texas 37-31 2024- tOSU beats Texas 28-14 (effectively another 1 score game outside of the fumble) This is unrelated to actual matchup but its a quirky stat that should give ND fans some hope.
  5. Ryan Grubb from Washington is available after the Seahawks let him go. Red Zone Success- Rankings of TD% in Red Zone 2022 Washington - 43rd Nationally 2023 Washington- 29th nationally 2023 Texas- 120th nationally 2024 Texas- 54th nationally
  6. Been thinking this. We ran sweep with a RB that was incapable of running down a DL over 90 yards
  7. Yep. Day got Kelly to do the same. Who's a great play caller but terrible HC we can hire?
  8. Crazy what a run game does for a team. Huge nads by Quinn to setup the 4th down conversion
  9. Sark and Quinn show up big tonight for all 4 quarters. Texas wins 31-20 and leaves everyone still wondering what the fuck is a buckeye?
  10. Quinn's Resume Pre Cotton Bowl 1 Big 12 Championship 1 Sec Championship Appearance (Bert owes him for this one) Wins @ Michigan and Alabama 27-8 Record Top 3 in TDs and yards in Texas History 2 Top 4 finishes guaranteed 2-1 vs Oklahoma If Texas were to go runner runner and win a championship he would add the following. 1 National Championship. The 5th QB is team history to achieve this 4 playoff wins. This will hopefully be passed by a future Texas QB Wins against Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Oklahoma with a chance of Notre Dame. Not sure how many if any QBs could claim wins over 5/8 of the blue bloods. Where would a championship put him? My gut would say a soft #2 but it would likely appreciate very well over the next decade.
  11. And since coming to the FBS level in 2009 he's been apart of one conference championship and two 10 win seasons. What a resume he's got going there
  12. Also beating ND for a championship would perfectly book end the Texas is back curse.
  13. I think we see Sark fully unload the bag for this game as this is game will likely be the one that crowns the champion. The other side of the bracket should not scare anyone playing/coaching in this game.
  14. Matt Ishbia owns the Phoenix Suns and is a grad of MSU.
  15. This may have been talked about up thread but wanted to chime in after hearing some confusion on OTF about it. The NCAA is heavily involved on in stadium experience for home games in the post season. I worked a few games at the FCS level and they limit everything from music on 3rd downs to how the PA announcer can do their job amongst other home game staples. Be prepared for a stale environment that will be completely dependent on the crowd to produce noise.
  16. Not sure that holds up if Stockton has to play a full game.
  17. Going to 12 was the biggest gaffe they made. 8 was a better number but this will lead to us going to 16 with no byes and straight seeding. Top 8 get home games and you can still get 5 autobids. Also protects the 1/2 seeds from bad draws in round 2
  18. Great break for us. It'll be more against ASU as well
  19. The only team that will feel like they got screwed today is ND getting 6/7 from not being in a conference. Though I do think an ulterior motive for the powers that be is to force their hand into joining a conference. An Indiana/Georgia matchuo will accelerate their decision makers into making that decision
