  1. The likelihood is that Fisher is getting more pressure from John King to start Haynes than Sark is getting from our boosters to start Quinn.
  2. Here's how I see the QB battle going: King wins the job mostly due to system experience. King throws picks and loses a game early Johnson takes over and keeps the Bama game within 21 points They win a game against LSU or Florida and Johnson finishes the year on a high note 2023 is proclaimed as the year and Weigman/Johnson battle it out after King leaves The Spring loser transfers and the winner is the QB savior; natty confirmed 2023 ends 9-3 or worse and then rinse and repeat
  3. I thought about reducing to 4-5 but SCar, App State, and probably Auburn just wont be competitive imo this year.
  4. So the aggies are supposed to be favorites after losing the following: Top 5 DC that was very well liked and replaced him with a downgrade (coaching and recruiting) and known psycho Respected OL coach and replaced him with a with a downgrade (coaching and recruiting) and known psycho Leading receiver (Wydemer) and rusher who was allegedly the best in the country according to them. The QB who pushed King for a starting role and won the biggest game in their history and replaced him LSUs sloppy seconds Their best DL (will still be good there) and best OL on a mediocre squad without any elite replacements and no current players are stepping up. And fall practice they have: Had no separation in QB room that is the envy of no one Moved their QB coach to WR and WR coach to QB in mid august the most pivotal development year for King/Johnson Had their best returning WR get arrested and narrowly miss a suspension They will win 7 games guaranteed due to a joke of a schedule but what they are not prepared for what is their first ever season as the hunted (2013 they were the darling with Manziel). Every year Texas, Bama (in the Saban era), ND, tOSU, and USC have a target on their back because a win against would make that teams season, see Kansas and Texas A&M in 2021. They may narrowly escape an early season Miami team that will be rolling by November but Bama will do their thing but Ole Miss, Florida, LSU, Miss State and Arkansas want nothing more to do than beat the "best recruiting class" of all time so they can use that as recruiting fodder of their own this off season.
  5. Karen Key Lago feeding Looch the good intel
  6. Never bad to have nba stars in the building. Not sure why or who he is there still neat
  7. Shoutout to Card though. He seems to love the school and has worked his tail off to try and be the starting QB. From what we know there has been no portal threats or locker clean outs like another QB we wont talk about. If all goes to plan he will graduate with the best business degree around and hopefully get the chance to start and win games at a power 5 next year. And lets all be thankful that we were not sweating the battle between Haynes King and Max Johnson.
  8. This should not have come as a surprise. Darius Terrell reported the other day, confirmed by the open practice, that they were running different sets for Ewers in the 11 on 11 portion. That says a lot about Card that they only trusted him to run 3 step drops and nothing else.
  9. So even though Card knows the playbook in and out he's still throwing just as many picks as Ewers (and 4 fumbles in the scrimmage)? Sounds like Card is a bad fit for the scheme if he still can't execute. As for Quinn I'm gonna continue to beat yall down with my Mahomes comparison. Here's an article from 2020 talking about his lack of skill in reading the defense. Some guys are just gamers and can just go out and perform. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2879589-chiefs-qb-patrick-mahomes-says-he-didnt-learn-to-read-defenses-until-last-year.amp.html
  10. If Hudson does start for whatever reason then it will be closer to what we saw last year where Casey came in pretty early with meat still on the bone. If Ewers does start then I dont think we see Card until it is 42-10 or more and he comes in for the last quarter or so. No reason to waste two full games of experience by letting Card get run around by Bama when Quinn can get all of the kinks out of his system before we reach conference play.
  11. That's what I got out of it. The 7 on 7 drills they ran allows the DBs to cheat routes since they are 4 on 3 and know what side it goes to. Card still cant keep from throwing fastballs to players 8 yards away. On the flip Ewers relies on touch a tick to much but the more reps he gets over the next two weeks the better.
  12. Boyd wrote up a report on the practice video and said in favor of Card that the "the results here were really quite one-sided" and the "battle really isn't close"
  13. He was gonna be 3rd string in his 6th year. Retiring now is a non factor for Kelly or LSU
  14. Seems like all of Quinns positive reports included throwing Neyor the deep ball. Wonder if him being out forced Quinn to not rely on the big bomb and be more thorough in his reads.
  15. We have not started the year unranked since Charlie was here when we started, and finished, unranked in all 3 seasons. In total we have started unranked in 5 seasons (1990, 2011, 2014-2016) and only finished ranked once in 1990 coming in at #12. https://www.collegepollarchive.com/football/ap/appearances-preseason-team.cfm?teamid=66

  17. Curious what your fantasy/pick 'em league loser punishments look like? A group of friends and I have started punishments this year for our pick 'em league. We are going with the Waffle House challenge but instead of 24 hours we are shortening that to 12 hours and each waffle consumed cuts an hour off.
  18. The UTSA game sets up well for us. I do think they take a step back but it is early enough in the year that if we win convincingly then people will call it a quality win regardless of how the rest of their season goes.
  19. He tried that last year with Thompson in the Louisiana game and it felt cheap that Card didn't get to put the nail in the coffin of his first start. QBs need confidence and rhythm especially when they're young and imo that's why Card struggled last year cause he never got a full game from start to finish to get going.
  20. Card obviously had his issues last year but Sark did him no favors by never letting him get back in a rhythm. Not to be a Card homer but I think he would have developed nicely with more game reps. That being said I think this competition is over and the closed practices are just Sark trying to be Saban like and not show his hand ala Tua/Hurts a few years back.
  21. The aggies started to claim financial superiority in 2018 when Forbes published a report saying they were the most valuable team even though the list was based om revenue and not actual value. They always fail to mention that they passed us up solely due to contributions for the Kyle field renovation and Fisher contract. From the article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2018/09/11/college-footballs-most-valuable-teams/
