  1. Watched this and Casey's as well to compare. I am still of the opinion that if Card would have continued to start he would have developed nicely by the end of the year. The only difference was maybe we don't go up by 20 on OU but had he started the whole season we could not have lost any more games than we did. That being said this is obviously Quinn's job to lose and he will make a lot of the plays those two couldn't that would have blown open and won those games these two lost. Replacing Washington and Dixon with Neyor and Hall alone would have gotten us to 7 or 8 wins last year. Add in some uber talent OL freshmen and this team will be hard to stop by conference play.
  2. He also got benched cause he stunk up 7 on 7. Dropping manning was purely clickbait
  3. Had a dream the other day that the so few people showed up to the aggie pool party that Jimbo rolled up to Alabama's to hang out with Saban.
  4. If the Big 12 goes west then my next purely fun hypothetical would be the ACC grabbing Kansas and Kstate to continue their Bball dominance and help expand their footprint. WVU and UCF would also be candidates that would also be perfect fits if they were trying to get to 20+
  5. Happened when the Baylor guys started saying they were a lock for Hookfin. At least that was the story that they went with
  6. Mpst of the Tech fans I know want to see the whole thing die after not inviting them last year. Leaving the Cal schools out and killing the Pac in one swoop would probably suffice for those that were left out to dry last year
  7. I think we have the perfect QBs coming in the right order. Quinn will better at keeping plays alive and throwing on the run. He reminds me a lot of Mahomes with his arm angles and gunslinger mentality. Then once we have a team full of elite talent then Manning can come in and be a traditional pocket QB who has all day to throw and not have to force anything to make things happen. His comp is obviously his two uncles who all have the same motion and mannerisms on the field
  8. If I was good at photoshop I would move Fisher to the corner and replace him with Candi. All you computer whizzes' have at it.
  9. Best part of this update is that Jackson Arnold fell 29 spots to #48 after OU fans cried foul on Manning's ranking for the last week.
  10. So he just outran the #2 receiver who has elite elite speed from last class and cooked 5 stars all weekend and still dropped?
  11. The funniest part of this was Daly tagged two fake accounts for Cooper and Peyton and has zero idea
  12. You've got to have commitments to have decommitments.
  13. Went back and looked to see which #1 class had the worst follow up class. Since 2002 only two schools dropped into the double digits ( '03 Texas ranked #15 and '11 Florida ranked #11 after taking less than 20 kids) the rest all were able to stay in the top 5 year over year and most of them stayed in the top 2 or 3. If a&m (#60 currently) doesn't turn it on then they will be looking at blowing this record out of the water.
  14. If a name got you 5 stars automatically then these guys sure got screwed.
  15. I'm from ETX I know/work with/live by way too many but this was mostly satire. But i bet they could do the mental gymnastics to get there if the school branded it like this. 1. With the addition of the Cali schools amd ND they would make more money (at least at first) per year than Texas. 2. Being an AAU exclusive conference they would sell it as a move that proves they are in the intellectual elite now. 3. They'd be the only Big 10 school in the state. Something the big bad SEC broke their promise on. 4. Then they'd say the SEC and Alabama/Texas had it out for them and the Big 10 was always a better fit for their university.
  16. Tin foil hat time. The TCU bit was leaked to let a&m know the Big 10 was interested in the Texas market and have them get fomo. The aggies could then pass it off as a win because they'll be making more money and the will be only Big 10 school in Texas.
  17. Since we may be on the verge of the P5 being reworked into a 3 or 4 team model I wanted to see which conferences were the most and least successful at bring home national championships in the big 3 revenue sports. For the cutoff date I used 1998 when the BCS was introduced because that was the starting point to all the madness we have today. What I found them most surprising is that the BIG 10 was the least proficient at winning national championships despite being the 2nd most valuable conference. And the Big 12 who has the 3rd most eyeballs is 2nd to last in championships won. This really all means nothing because we know that brand size is often not related to recent championships (see Texas, USC, UCLA, OU) but interesting non the less that the Big 10 will get $100 million per school and has hardly made a dent in the SEC's championship domination. SEC National Championships: ACC National Championships: Pac 12 National Championships: Big 12 National Championships: Big 10 National Championships:
  18. Yes the SEC is going to ask 3 of their original members to leave including their academic bell cow. Now their two most recent additions on the other hand..
  19. What is yalls relatively realistic dream scenario? Mine is the aggies see the Big 10s new deal netting them more than the SEC and they try to jump ship. Then the SEC adds Miami, FSU, Clemson, and Duke/UNC. Far from likely and just me wish casting what would bring me the most joy
  20. That was off the table once USC/UCLA left. Legislatively guaranteed playoff spots wont be needed when there are 3 or 4 major conferences. Even if the stay at 4 the Big 10 and SEC will get 3 of those spots and 7 or more with a 12+ team playoff.
  21. In my opinion this is a race to 20 for the power 5 leagues with the Big 10 and SEC already at 14+2 on the way. SEC- If they can get ND to say yes (highly unlikely) then adding Clemson, FSU, and Miami would be the best case scenario. When the Big 10 finally takes ND then adding those 3 and a back fill of the biggest remaining brand would still be a net positive. Big 10- Once ND joins they'll have 17 committed and could either add the two Virginias and BC/Syracuse/Pitt or take Stanford and Cal and a wild card. ACC- If they have enough members after getting poached by the Big 10 and SEC they could look to add WVU and make a run at the Kansas schools when the Big 12 adds half the Pac. The ACC will have to fight to stay alive but they're are enough decent G5 names they can add to stay in the 15ish member range Big 12- If they add those Pac schools I would count WVU as the biggest flight risk to the ACC so lets say they are sitting on 17 schools. Adding SMU, Memphis, and a team like Boise would get them to 20 assuming the Kansas schools stay put. PAC 12/MWC- After the Big 10/12 run through the PAC it looks like there are 4 schools remaining without a home, Stanford, Cal, Oregon State, and Washington State. If the PAC 12 wants to stay alive then they will have to merge with the MWC and finally get to use the Pac 16 name.
  22. If the BIG 10 wanted Stanford and Cal they would have gotten calls already. Stanford will have to go to the big 12 or go independent to stay out of the MWC consuming all of the Cali/PNW schools that are on the Pac 12 back burners
  23. Wonder if they came fir them and a&m hard hence the light recruiting results so far for both.
