  1. With the SEC going to 9 games they should should institute two rules to be eligible for a 5th home SEC game in any given year. If not have fun going to Athens or Austin every other year. No FCS after September One road P4 game every 2-3 years.
  2. Missed Illinois, Michigan State, Duke, Florida State, and Cincy.
  3. Not in favor of canceling but my list of P4 teams we should schedule. These are the only Power schools we have never defeated, would like to see that in my lifetime just to say we did it. North Carolina State Syracuse Virginia Tech Minnesota Northwestern In the SEC all we lack is South Carolina but we will get them soon.
  4. So the top 4 get a double bye?
  5. Guess which of one our esteemed writers has us as the 13th best team in the AP poll 2 spots behind Virginia?
  6. I worded incorrectly. I'd have the committee giving viewing their resume better.
  7. This likely means PSU is now about to go official with theirs. Chesney was 2nd in odds to get the PSU job the last 24 hours or so
  8. Precedent will likely be set this year in one way or another as Bama can be the first 3 loss at large. Our best hope here is when debating setting the precedent of a 3 loss at large they compare the fullness of the Bama/Texas Resumes. I would still have money on their resume over ours but the FSU loss evens it out some.
  9. Taking out Miami and aggy to start the year and that drops to 40-62. But without ND the networks only have tOSU to draw eyeballs in that section of the US.
  10. The committee starts by nominating 6 and the top 4 are ranked and the two remaining are locked into the next round with 4 new teams nominated. This happens 4 times to get the top 16 teams. Any optimism for Texas getting near the 10 spot comes in round 3 this week as we were obviously at the back end of round 4 last week. Round 1 tOSU, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Oregon, Ole Miss/a&m Ranked 1. tOSU 2. Indiana 3. Georgia 4. Tech Round 2 Oregon, Ole Miss, a&m, OU, Notre Dame, Alabama Ranked 5. Oregon 6. Ole Miss/a&m 7. Ole Miss/a&m 8. Oklahoma Round 3- Notre Dame, Alabama, BYU with Miami/Utah/Vandy/Texas fighting over the final 3 nominations. 9. Notre Dame 10. Alabama 11. BYU 12. Miami/Utah/Vandy/Texas Round 4. Miami, Utah, Vandy, Texas, USC, Michigan 13-15 Three of Miami/Utah/Vandy/Texas 16. USC The remainder of the top 25 will be ranked in groups of 3 in rounds 5-7. Source
  11. Yeah let's create a system that pits Minnesota against Kentucky in a first round game. That'll do wonders for TV ratings. The ACC is down and still rating well with their big brands. The big 12 is rating well this year due to Techs resurgence. Notre Dame is never joining a conference so let's miss on those views as well. Solid plan.
  12. BYUs coach is the betting favorite for PSU cheer for that and Tech to happen this week and it won't be an issue.
  13. 8 is perfect. And bowl games are going to getting better than the 4 team era
  14. In your scenario we don't have a osu loss to lean on. Alabama would be ranked above us with no plausible path for them to drop
  15. If the SCar result held they'd have been out of the playoffs this year just behind us. There wasnt enough chaos this year in the top 15
  16. Alabama has a Georgia win, similar resume, is playing for the SEC championship and is stuck at #10. Beating Purdue isn't doing much for this year's squad.
  17. The amount of people back tracking from their iron clad Predictions that we'll jump 10 spots this week is astonishing
  18. The whole year was chalk outside of Texas and Alabama dropping games to bad Florida based teams. The top 9 only lost to other top 25ish teams. Not much chaos this year
  19. I like highest ranked from 4-5 conferences. Conference championships matter a little less but can still be a final differentiator 2024- SMU gets in over Clemson. 2025- Miami over Duke/uva
  20. Nobody that matters wants a big and sec only championship. The sport would die as we know it in 5 years. Miami fsu and Clemson historically can pull enough talent to win big. Eliminating those markets is about the dumbest thing I've seen in this thread which is saying a ton.
  21. You're right 11-1 Texas with a loss to Florida would have been a lock for the playoffs
  22. That's not how things work "my man"
