  1. Thanks guys. That makes some sense. I used an iPhone as my main phone years ago until it died. And looking at my profile on the current iPhone, it still had my email, full name, etc. I've deleted all that stuff now.
  2. Ok, so some of you that know iOS better can maybe answer this. I mainly use an Android phone, but I have a second phone using a free line we had that is an iPhone. I used it to access email at my old firm that I was still consulting firm. They had all this security stuff required and I didn't want that stuff messing with my main business. Anyway, I have NEVER given that phone number out. I don't even know what it is. I do have an Apple ID that has all my info. So a couple weeks ago, a friend I haven't heard from in years texted me and it went to the iPhone. I asked him how he got that number and he never responded. He worked at Apple at one point, so I figured maybe he still does and was able to find it via the data they collect or something. Well a couple days ago, a guy I know from my daughter's cub scout pack texted me on that phone. I've checked the pack roster, the only numbers there are my regular cell phone and home phone. I only just noticed it because I basically never use that phone anymore (I still use it for tethering if my main line runs out of high speed data). He's out of town now, so I'll ask him when he gets back, but I'm freaked out. How the fuck did these guys find this number? I've now gone and deleted all my personal info out of my AppleID and turned Siri off for everything, but will that do it?
  3. So, I posted about this on another threat about a year ago, but my 7yo tested as ridiculously smart in most categories, but also borderline ADD. They said normally this wouldn't be an issue, but due to her intelligence, it is. Was recommended some ADHD coaching/therapy. Left this in charge of my soon to be ex and we ended up at a place call the Peak Performance Institute. They did a Quantitative EEG analysis that showed that basically her brain kind of misfires. I researched it some and this thing seems largely legit. The place that did her testing last year confirmed its legit. It was also suggested we do Heart Rate Variability Training. Again, original place said its a good idea. Sooooo, they don't take insurance. I've found one other place, Austin Biofeedback, that does this, but also doesn't take insurance. We can file after the fact with insurance (BCBS for us), but the insurance wants to pre-approve and they've dragged their heals. The new thing is they say they need something from Peak Performance Institute (which those people say they never have had to provide before). Total cost of the therapy if we can't get anything covered is between $10k and $17k. So, anyone do this before? I'm no doctor, but what they've said makes sense and I haven't found anyone calling total bullshit on it.
  4. There's some monks up in Upstate NY that train GSD for this exact purpose. It's expensive, but I've met one of these dogs with its family before. I've been around dogs my whole life, lots of GSD, and that dog, while not unfriendly or aggressive, was fucking intimidating. Whatever you decide to do, if you do get a big dog like that for protection, make sure you get it very, very well trained. It needs to respond to EVERYONE in the family.
  5. Because Americans are lazy and cost too much I do not like OU
  6. Working on a business venture that will have an immigration component for some employees. We got any immigration lawyers here who could provide me some insight to see if I should pursue this? Thanks I do not like OU
  7. Hopefully Fenves won't be a pantywaist about it I do not like OU
  8. On another note, for my actual reading, I'm on the second book of Sanderson's first Mistborn trilogy. The first book it took me a while to get into it. The last third or so if it, I really liked it. So I'm on book two, Well of Ascension. I'm about 1/3 through and it's enjoyable but once again, not loving it. I find the world interesting but I think the issue is that I don't feel any real attachment to most of the characters. In the first book, it was the same deal, with the exception of one or two. I do not like OU
  9. Thanks I'll put it on my list! I'm on Book 7 of Academy, Starhawk. I don't hate it but it's a bit weird for two reasons. First, instead of focusing on some specific event, like the other books, it's really just about how Hutch got started it seems. Second, it's a different narrator and I swear she makes every character sounds like they're willing. I do not like OU
  10. And you're wrong. After the years, we had as many holes or more in our depth chart as when he started and a team full of guys that had no idea if how to win or even an expectation of it. Literally, these guys had never experienced a winning college football season. That losing attitude is harder to fix than lack of talent. The guys Mack left at least had a winning attitude. I do not like OU
  11. Hahahahaha Have the government helping us?!? Shit with friends like that, who needs enemies? There government could barely be hindering us more if they tried! They already add between$25k and $50k in costs per project with a ridiculous number of fees, inspections, etc. Then they make it so that at most you can build a duplex on most lits, and not even that on many, so there's no way to reduce land cost per unit. I do not like OU
  12. Yup. Hopefully, we'll get some elected officials that are open to the idea, even if they aren't campaigning on it. My new rep, Vikki Goodwin is like that. She won't say it outright, but read between the lines and its there. Of course, we'll just get fucked most likely and have a state income tax AND high property taxes.
  13. It's not a popular opinion, but we really need to just scrap the entire property tax scheme and implement an income tax. People freak out at that, but most people would likely benefit from it. As an example of how screwed our system is: My best year in NYC, I made about 50% more than my best year I've had since moving back. I paid less in combined state income taxes, city income taxes and property taxes that year than I have paid in property taxes each of the three years I've been back. And New York is considered a 'high' income tax state. Just look at how fucked up it is. Live in something like Circle C, and you have a house in the half million dollar range and pay about $10k in property taxes per year, even if you only make $100k. That's literally a 10% tax rate. Conversely, someone who lives in a different part of the state, where property values are lower and harder to get accurate estimate due to lower turnover and you may have a property on the tax rolls at $150k and only pay $3k in property taxes, even if you make $250k, $500k, etc. Obviously most people aren't making $250k, $500k, etc., but it illustrates how the system is upside down. The middle class basically gets screwed in our system.
  14. The argument that seniors are getting pushed out due to property taxes is basically a lie. Most of the taxes freeze at what you paid at 65.
  15. Developers don't do any of that. Demand does that and we don't control that. Don't be an idiot. God I'd love if I could manufacture demand I do not like OU
  16. It's more that she went from eccentric to BATSHIT with an intention of fucking with the dumbass 'developers'. I'm in general a fan of eccentric, but if someone ever installed neon pink lighting to intentionally shine into one of my projects... well, it would quite a coincidence that some guys showed up in the middle of the night smashed/stole all the neighbors 'art'.
  17. Of course I watch HGTV. Laughing at those dumbasses is very entertaining! Pintrest though? Hmm, not so much.
  18. That's not a problem to find. They just didn't build something that actually would still for that. This is what happens in hot markets. People think they can do this for after watching HGTV and looking at Pinterest. That said the neighbor is kind of an asshole. I do not like OU
  19. Sure it's different. That's why it's a bullshit argument. It isn't like this is their only chance to earn a living, just maybe to hit a home run. I doubt any of them would be have trouble getting a job, maybe not a cushy job, but they will be able to no provide just fine I do not like OU
  20. They'll be able to provide for their families regardless. No Texas ex player is every going to have trouble finding a job if they are at least reasonably competent. I do not like OU
  21. Just had another thought. Maybe this selfishness is a good thing. It makes the non CFP bowl games, even the new years 6, devalued. Playing a game with your stars is a joke and is bad for college football so maybe this will pay the NCAA to get rid of all the bowls and expand the CFP to 16, 20, 24 teams. Probably not, but we can hope I do not like OU
  22. The chances of having a career ending injury are small, even the chances of having an injury that hurts your draft spot are small. It can happen, but it's small. I see no difference in sitting out a bowl game vs sitting out there end of the season. If their future rearming potential is the only thing that matters, then why not sit out as soon as your team is eliminated from CFP contention, or conference championship contention? Winning the sugar bowl this year is readily as important to our program as winning the Big12 title would have been, but by your logic, all these guys should have started sitting out after the WVU loss as we were eliminated from the CFP by that point and most, if not all, haven't changed their draft position significantly since. College Athletics is not just a minor league for the NFL. If we're going to start treating it as such, then we should just start paying these guys and eliminate any academic requirements for them. I do not like OU
  23. He didn't sit it the NCAA tournament. Granted different than s non cfp bowl game. I'm not a fan of players leaving early, especially after freshman year but you at least complete your season I do not like OU
  24. Any player that sits out the bowl game because they are going pro should never be welcome on campus again I do not like OU
