  1. Cleat got caught in the field as he went down.
  2. One thing I will call out that we screwed up with our oldest is planning starts in 8th with foreign language. If your kid is set on UT, make sure they're taking a foreign language in 8th that they can continue in Advanced/Honors and then AP. If they don't, they're out of the running of top 6% before they even enter highschool This
  3. I'm guessing that UT GPA is unweighted while the other two are weighted (+.5 for advanced and +1.0 for AP). My daughter has a weighted GPA of 4.8 and is barely in the top 1/4 of her class.
  4. UTSA has a great comp sci - security program. The NSA down there hires a lot of folks directly as well.
  5. Boots and shorts follow up - https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxjMK_Pp-EZ/?igshid=MWZjMTM2ODFkZg== If anyone knows how to download Insta Reels LMK how and I'll post it.
  6. Max is a statue. He's going to get beat to death behind that line. Hate to see a kid get hurt like that, I really hope there are no long term complications for him. That said, he needs to look into just playing baseball. If you didn't already know, Nurses gossip 🙂
  7. I'm so glad we're never going to have to play in that dangerous stadium again.
  8. From what I remember is around 2002 we had 51K undergrads and we were the second largest university in the nation. They intentionally pulled back enrollments after that
  9. The talus has low blood flow and typically heals much more slowly, correct?
  10. I started at UT right when they deregulated the tuition. My costs doubled over the course of 4 years if I remember correctly and they were still a LOT less than this. This goes back to my trade school argument. There are not a lot of professions that would support taking on $200K in student cost/debt over 4 years. It's something as a parent you should at least consider.
  11. YouTube pays just a little under $0.02 per view. They're not making enough from YouTube revenue to support themselves. Their highest viewed video is 5K views ($100), but most are < 1K. They do have a bunch of sponsors in their streams, so I have no idea how much those folks are paying.
  12. Is CA somewhat like Texas schools where you can play the resident game and then start getting in-state tuition?
  13. UDub is a great school, I don't know much about Oregon. I loved that area in the summer.
  14. Only $2K more than UT out of state, but yeah that out of state tax is heavy
  15. Same with UC - Davis and Cal Poly. In fact UC - Davis finished higher than UT in the latest US News & World rankings
  16. If she's from there she'll be fine. It's no worse than what you get in Seattle proper. A little more exposed so the fronts blowing in can be a little more extreme, but we're not talking North Dakota. Being from TX and used to 300+ days of sun, Jan and Feb were really tough. Def had to invest in sun lamps/etc.
  17. Also, college isn't for everyone. If my kids were different I'd be pushing them towards a trade. Become an electrician and then eventually build out your own company. AI isn't going to replace a breaker or run a new line of romex. Hot, sweaty, hard work, but it is only going to be more and more in demand. Any thoughts around GCU?
