  1. I'm so glad we're never going to have to play in that dangerous stadium again.
  2. From what I remember is around 2002 we had 51K undergrads and we were the second largest university in the nation. They intentionally pulled back enrollments after that
  3. The talus has low blood flow and typically heals much more slowly, correct?
  4. Ummm, who's gonna tell him
  5. I started at UT right when they deregulated the tuition. My costs doubled over the course of 4 years if I remember correctly and they were still a LOT less than this. This goes back to my trade school argument. There are not a lot of professions that would support taking on $200K in student cost/debt over 4 years. It's something as a parent you should at least consider.
  6. YouTube pays just a little under $0.02 per view. They're not making enough from YouTube revenue to support themselves. Their highest viewed video is 5K views ($100), but most are < 1K. They do have a bunch of sponsors in their streams, so I have no idea how much those folks are paying.
  7. Is CA somewhat like Texas schools where you can play the resident game and then start getting in-state tuition?
  8. UDub is a great school, I don't know much about Oregon. I loved that area in the summer.
  9. Only $2K more than UT out of state, but yeah that out of state tax is heavy
  10. Same with UC - Davis and Cal Poly. In fact UC - Davis finished higher than UT in the latest US News & World rankings
  11. If she's from there she'll be fine. It's no worse than what you get in Seattle proper. A little more exposed so the fronts blowing in can be a little more extreme, but we're not talking North Dakota. Being from TX and used to 300+ days of sun, Jan and Feb were really tough. Def had to invest in sun lamps/etc.
  12. I think he murdered #35 on that second play.
  13. Also, college isn't for everyone. If my kids were different I'd be pushing them towards a trade. Become an electrician and then eventually build out your own company. AI isn't going to replace a breaker or run a new line of romex. Hot, sweaty, hard work, but it is only going to be more and more in demand. Any thoughts around GCU?
  14. Do you enjoy 9:30 AM sunrises and 4 PM sunsets and when the sun is up, it's cloudy and raining? Most people forget how far north that really is because of the fact that it doesn't get very cold. I bet she doesn't post pics when it's raining, which is most of the time. I lived there for a few years and it's awful.
  15. Much of Washington outside of Seattle resembles east Texas.
  16. It's not great. Also, you'd be shocked how awful the weather is 9 months out of the year. Weather is amazing when college kids aren't there
  17. Yes, it is the wrong place
  18. Sounds like Lubbock
  19. Did not know that. USF is one of my daughter's top schools and my in-laws live in FL.
  20. Honestly no clue. I looked at going there in the early 2000's and the setup was more like apartments (4 room, 2 bath apartments) than dorm housing. I do think going there you'll miss out on some of the "big college" experiences since it is more of a commuter school as I remember it.
  21. Texas State (I know) has steadily increased the quality of a lot of their programs. It is maddening that UT system as a whole hasn't increased in quality. Top 6% at certain schools is an impossibility even for very bright kids (Westlake, Westwood, etc). I wish UT would build out an excellent focused program for each of the satellite schools. UT-Dallas for eng/comp sci maybe UTA for a business school comparable to McComb's. Obviously they wouldn't be as good as UT Austin, but close
  22. UT-Dallas for engineering/comp sci. It's a great school and I work for a major tech company and we recruit from there every year.
  23. Should have added Texas schools, but yes, Penn State and MSU should be on the list as well
  24. Baylor and aggy are the only two places my kids are not allowed to go to. Both institutions have shown they don't give a single fuck about student safety
  25. NIL bagmen now. No, we're doing everything above board. It's not illegal or unethical. Cry harder gomer
