  1. Since it was discussed up thread, from AISD's e-blast just now:
  2. Lobo, Plexi glass isn't going to stop a virus. Your time is more valuable than that.
  3. @ jiggy z, What's the largest class there? That all seems reasonable for a school that small covering 6 grade levels where hopefully most of the school is vaccinated?
  4. That's exactly what we should be doing though.
  5. Since they're still getting adult sized doses, we used our kid's sizes as a determinant. Our 12 year old was about as big as my wife when he got his shots. My almost 11 year old is tiny, so if we're going to go down that route for him, I'd prefer to wait for the Pfizer Jr version.
  6. No easy decisions when it comes to your own children. What circumstances would allow your families to confidently choose in-person learning?
  7. Tractor Supply should say ivermectin now comes in an injectable form, but it's two doses three or four weeks apart... Depends on the flavor, of course
  8. So... They reopened in June after the "no mask mandate mandate" went into effect and then two months later closed down under the same circumstances in a town where many are already vaccinated and/ or masking? And they operate out of a church? Couldn't the church do them a solid and say "masks or gtfo?"
  9. My favorite Aggy joke: You know why A&M only gets 1/3 of the PUF? They chose first.
  10. It might be true, but this is a pretty shaky logic string. Maybe they're partnering with the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Board to make sure they have the correct denominator?
  11. Is this the Aspen version of "bus loads of untested migrants dropped off in the middle of Austin"?
  12. Yeah sorry, that wasn't directed at you, more the article. If I'm migrating away from some shit and there's a cure at the end of my journey, I'm going to hit a CVS first thing where they ask zero questions about where I came from and get a shot. And I'll admit, my take is pretty shaky, but so is the click bait doom porn article.
  13. Or, even better why assume they're unvaccinated?
  14. Man, there will be a lot of data to sift through in a year or so regarding masks and infections in schools.
  15. Someone else had a link from UT health that said peak in mid October. That seems like a pretty big discrepancy... I'd prefer today, but what's the difference between the two?
  16. For the vaccinated who are back to wearing masks indoors, what data are you using for when it's safe to go back indoors without a mask?
  17. Why not do what we should've been doing from the start: fast, accurate testing on a routine basis? This solves for the under 12 crowd who can't get vaccinated. I have no problem places asking for proof of vaccination as long as there's also an option for recent negative test.
  18. Click on bschoolprofs link 3 posts up.
  19. One of the local TV stations had a quote that something like 80% of Austin's hospitalizations were from one of the zip codes near Del Valle. I'll try to find a link to their story, but I couldn't ever find their back up. Looking at the case map for Travis county, most of the cases from the past 14 days are from Pflugerville and del Valle, so it could be true.
  20. You're correct. I'm sure it has something to do with that area getting hit hard prior to any vaccinations being available?
  21. The AISD mask mandate doesn't start till tomorrow. No rules broken if that meet the teacher was today for an AISD school.
  22. Yeah, but what flavor?
  23. @trauma babe, @cactusflinthead wants me to ask if you got a lot of kids in the hospital with covid? Also check yes or no if you like him. [ ] yes [ ] no
  24. What do you disagree with in his statement?
  25. Overwhelmed with covid kids? The APH dashboard, while a week behind, has 4 individuals under the age of 20 in the hospital for Covid? Is that a lot?
