  1. I wouldn't call it a hobby of mine, but I'll take big limbs from around the neighborhood during the city's large brush pickup and bringing it home for future firewood. This habit of grabbing some good logs over the past year served me well this past week. There is a ton of downed branches out there right now if you feel like prepping for next fall.

  3. Heard from friends at 2222 and Mt bonnell near st Theresa's that they're back online
  4. They might ask your friend if they are 1A/1B when they arrive, but they can't ask your friend to show proof
  5. Raleigh-Durham, Boise or Tulsa
  6. Bout tree fiddy
  7. Appreciate that. I ended up phoning a friend. As it turns out he's already made two other trips to pick up parents. We're going to let the ice melt a bit before attempting.
  8. Is there a 4wd Uber option? Or could someone show up in a Toyota Tercel?
  9. How difficult is it to drive in Austin in a non 4wd vehicle? Need to go get my parents. They told us their power came back on, but didn't tell us it went off again an hour later.
  10. APH has been getting about 12k first doses per week for the past couple of weeks. They're posting how many of those first doses go into arms. The first week, they fell 4k short of the 12k. Second week, 1k+ short. Or there'll be a huge data dump in a few weeks with some curious stats. APH needs to turn over some of their allocation to HEB and other local pharmacies if they can't hit the 12k mark. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/3dc1bcbae3ac419d82b127aa2cdc2a51
  11. Sounds like a Peaker Plant is the deus ex machina in a shitty disaster movie. "Hey guys, what if we dust off that old coal plant to get some extra power?" "Nelson, you crazy sonafabitch.... It just might work"
  12. Had to move one spigot to Team Drip after I saw it with a huge chunk of ice below it. I guess when I was wrapping it, I turned the handle on just a bit.
  13. Dog pooped in the hallway. Have taken her out 6 times since this morning. Took her till the third try before she peed
  14. If you have a little light by the water/ ice dispenser, turn it on and give it an hour
  15. If my power's been out for a while, can I be exempt from rolling blackouts?
  16. If you weren't on Team Drip, join Team Run while you try and get your water cut off. Really sorry some of you are going through this shit, and my fingers are crossed I won't. Soooo, do I hook up the hose to the spigot now and run it into the yard or cut it off at the street?
  17. Power's been out for over an hour now. The Austin energy crew is up in the neighbor's tree with a chainsaw. Getting cold in here but looks fucking miserable where they are
  18. Yikes FPVD
  19. Duke "Incidence and Secondary Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 Infections in Schools " CONCLUSIONS: Our cohort study demonstrated that enforcing SARS-CoV-2 mitigation policies such as masking, physical distancing, and hand hygiene, resulted in minimal clusters of SARS-CoV-2 infection and low rates of secondary transmission in schools, and did not cause a larger community infection burden. Our data indicate that schools can reopen safely if they develop and adhere to specific SARS-CoV-2 prevention policies.
  20. Haven't made it into free shares mode with XMET. Today might be the day
  21. Little bit of a delay in the data, but APHs dashboard shows 8k first doses administered for the week ending 1/29/2021. According to Texas dept of health distribution list, APH received 12k first doses for the same week. Did 4k doses fall off a truck somewhere along the way?
  22. No surprise, APH revised their flowchart so that it looks exactly like the state of Texas' 1A and 1B. Eliminates all the "community" chatter.
  23. Correct. But only refresh ad nauseum on Tuesdays and Thursdays as that's when they release spots
  24. Yup. The age related data doesn't lie. The older you are, the worse this'll affect you. And that's a plan that everyone can understand. Oh, the 72 year olds and older are on January 12th. The 71 year olds are the 13th....
  25. There are ways to achieve what Austin is trying to achieve without using race, if that's how they're defining "community". Start with the zip codes with the lowest property tax appraisals. Or by job classification. Or whether they live in multi generational housing. In the end APH will bungle this and not get as many shots in arms and the state will draw down the number of vaccines they get because of their inefficiency.
