  1. I expect the use of a 3-3 front with Collins murphy Coburn Overshown Ford Tucker
  2. If Kitan is the athlete they keep hyping him up to be, I wish we would have kept him at corner and played Watts at safety. They keep making it seem like Thompson is going to hold on to one of the safety spots and I just don’t see much athleticism in a Thompson Cook duo.
  3. Did IT drop the team notes this past Friday? I need some more Kool-Aid in my life.
  4. Neto actually had a pretty bad official visit the Kansas game weekend, but NIL and Coach Gilbert saved that recruitment down the stretch.
  5. The Kool Aid strong. I’m going to need them to add a little water, it’s June. At this rate Texas will be better than an NFL team by the time the late July reports come in. I do like the news about big Cam tho. His expectations based on talks with the staff have always been you’re a tackle 100%. Now it’s up to him to get and keep the weight down.
  6. I get making the move to the 3-3-5 Stack out of necessity, but I’d honestly prefer PK run the scheme he knows. Year 1 was a wash and we need to learn will his system work at Texas and how well can he teach it. Him running another scheme will give the staff another excuse to not can him if our defense is below standard again.
  7. Chris has been an absolute stud for Texas. He saved a few really important recruitments last cycle. If he was a full time assistant who could go on the road he would instantly become one of our top 3 recruiters.
  8. There haven’t been an additional criminal or behavior issues so it has to be grades right?
  9. Both Crawford and Barron came out of last season believing they were the best CBs on the team and expected to start outside. Jamison stays and Watts transferred in. I think Barron can be worked out cause he still will get plenty of time in the slot. Crawford is who I’ve been more worried about. Yes he should win the safety job but there are people in his ear that believe he should still be a corner and head somewhere that will let him. We shall see over the next day or so if they entered the portal.
  10. I wish somebody would have offered Jamison so Barron could start at outside CB like he needs to be. He is the best corner on the team.
  11. Murphy, Worthy, Collins, Sweat, Crawford, Barron and Blue have been recruited by other squads this spring. Some harder than others. Worthy was paid handsomely to ensure he will continue to be a part of the program. He was the guy recruited the hardest followed by Collins and Murphy. There are programs that think Murphy could be a game changer and some that think they could better use Collins. A Big 12 team wanted Sweat pretty bad. The coaches are aware of all of this.
  12. Might have been, but it’s pretty clear now that they need each other cause both have been terrible without the other. Maybe “time heals all wounds”.
  13. The guys I know believe the the first statement to be true. That our linebackers and safeties were so bad that it played a major role in how we deployed the DLine. the questioning of Bo coaching up PK’s scheme is just my personal thoughts. I don’t remember Bo every having a unit that looked as bad as ours and I’m pretty sure he has always coached an attacking style.
  14. I knew it was a problem just didn’t know how bad the problem was in regards to recruiting. The guys I know swear next year will be different and that our back seven played a role in the way we deployed our DLine. They gotta let them attack, and if we are not starting Byron Murphy you might as well fire PK now. Everybody around the programs knows he is the best DT and yet we continue to play other guys ahead of him. Bo can recruit and coach but I’m starting to think his philosophy just doesn’t match what PK wants out of the DLine guys.
  15. Should have hired Lane if we were going to hire a fired USC coach who got revived by the Saban coaching rehab. I love how aggressively he has attacked the portal. I wonder how much PK’s system and use of edge players has played a role in this. Doesn’t matter tho, this is still losing to Frost and a 3-9 Nebraska team.
  16. I would expect an “walk-on” deal to be an one off to make number works this year versus an actual program to help a large group of walk on. I just know the staff isn’t worried about numbers at all and if somebody that can help them win enters the portal they are going to go after them. That doesn’t mean they will get said players, cause as we all know they have thought they had kids plenty of times in the past recruiting cycle.
  17. I agree. I think the board is going to go up in flames when/if the DT’s leaves. Those are the ones I want to stay that are expected to leave. The secondary could take a hit from a name stand point but the secondary play hasn’t been great in the past so it is what it is.
  18. With “NIL” I would expect them to just ask somebody to “walk on” if needed for the numbers. I know Beard has told a few walk on offers that with NIL he didn’t expect their families to have to come out of pocket to pay for school.
  19. After the spring game I’m expecting to lose at a minimum 1 but more than likely 2 DT, a safety And WR to the transfer portal.
  20. I’m friends with a player and an admin from the Louisville teams Strong had. They visited Texas a few times while Strong was in austin. They both said things were night and day different with out Hurts around and felt like that was the biggest reason Charlie didn’t work out at Texas. I don’t believe that to be the case but it does go back to the value of having a few coaches on the staff that will kick ass if you have a soft head coach.
  21. Exactly. Thats not some high school coach who secretly took a video, that’s somebody with access to the practice cut up and inside the program. Sending that to somebody on Twitter wasn’t a good business decision.
