  1. I agree but it’s also not my money or me also having to work all those egos and expectations. Also would help to keep Red happy because of the True Buzz connections. True Buzz has been a friend of the program with Red, Watts, and helping stay in the race with Ant Hill. I don’t know who we end up with in the WR room but J Mic would have been my guy from day one. Evan gets more attention and rightful so, but J Mic a dog and his word is more reliable.
  2. This is where Hooks is the gift and the curse. He has a really solid relationship with Sark and that relationship has helped us get into recruitments and win recruitments. The problem this cycle is Hooks is the trainer for the Cal WR, Cook, Evan, and Neyor. The Cal WR is/was very obtainable but you gotta be straight with Hooks and all the kids because they all talk or communicate with/through Hooks. You can’t tell Evan one thing J Mic something else. I am NOT saying that happened just an example of how this specific portal run has complicating factors. It’s a thin line as well cause Cook is coming to get reps while Hooks also wants to make sure Neyor gets a chance to bounce back. I don’t envy the coaches position on this one. But a WR with Worthy, J Mic, Evan, Neyor and Cooks would be amazing. Also possible with the right plays behind the scene.
  3. Maybe he is in SouthLake visiting an old QB friend. Evan plays a lot of games but now that the OC has been hired we will know soon if he is staying or not.
  4. The football program had no problem letting him return. Other aspects of the university are very glad to see him and Chris go. Very surprised he had the grades to even transfer.
  5. 100% agree on Denver Harris. Even tho the North Shore staff is not his biggest fan as of today, they still believe he was a decent kid who just wasn’t mature enough to be a leader instead for a follower. Most people close to him swear him becoming close to Chris Marshall was the start of his decline. His parents were begging him to stop hanging out with Chris. Mom begged Aggie to let him stay once she knew for sure Chris was leaving the team.
  6. I’m starting a go fund me to keep Blue at Texas. Texas football needs@closetojumping to give us the golden football to break the curse that has plagued Texas football for the last 10-12 years.
  7. He was great in Brent V’s scheme. Looked lost and disinterested in current scheme.
  8. I personally believe Bledsoe will be the best pass rusher out of that class. We definitely need to hit on two from that class. I really like Finkley but I don’t think he will a huge sack guy coming off the edge.
  9. The biggest issue down the stretch with that recruitment was how long Herman took to hire a WR coach. The family asked everyday who would be coaching their son and Herman had no answers as he swung and missed on multiple WR coaches. While we had no coach Malcolm Kelly was on him hard every day. Herman eventually hired Coleman who had been on the staff the whole time. If Herman had hired Coleman earlier I believe QJ is in austin. Made no sense to take as long as they did if you were going to hire the guy already on staff
  10. The issue is you’ve told him and his family all year that next year is his year. To compound that you wasted a year of eligibility this year for him. You didn’t preserve his redshirt this year like we did other linemen. Didn’t even try. And it’s not like he burned his redshirt getting OLine snaps. You burned his redshirt on field goals and extra points. When his family had questions about the wasted year you told them that there was no way he would be here longer than 4 years no matter what, because where you project him and talent to take him. So lose a year of eligibility and then have to sit another year. At least give him a chance to compete, preferably at tackle where he has been all year. It is not 100% he will transfer but Flood and Sark are going to have to do a major sell job. Some kids take you at your word and really want to compete/play.
  11. There are people in the program that are trying to convince Christian Jones to stay another year. If he does that’s going to cost us a young lineman.
  12. Yes, it’s him. But the Aggies need some recruiting momentum and they will get to tell their fans how they just went into Florida and got a National top 50 level recruit.
  13. Biggest lottery ticket in the portal. if he gives you a healthy season you hit the jackpot.
  14. Aggies are to suppose announce a “big time” transfer this weekend. Safety from FSU. I thought they they had their safeties of the future already on the roster so curious how this all plays out if true. and yes, definitely offering a nice sum per the kids family.
  15. In regards to a certain WR there are two things at play. 1 - His current team is absolutely aware of all the “rumors” and understands how much the potential transfer would hurt the school’s perception. Desperate times call for desperate measures. 2 - The family has been made some very big promises in regard to OC and scheme change. I doubt you see any movement until the OC is hired. That’s going to work in Texas favor cause it doesn’t seem like the big splash promised is going to happen.
  16. Cool. there is some talk of a South Dallas kid who might be a little home sick. Might just talk at this point so I was just checking.
  17. @closetojumping I have a question and if you can’t answer I understand. Just trying to see if what the kids are saying has some legs. is the Edge/DE that was suppose to enter the portal that Texas felt good about, from the DFW metroplex?
  18. The North Shore staff is absolutely in love with their Freshman and Sophomore classes. They are going to be filled with D1 kids. The coaches thought this would be a down year talent wise.
  19. I’ll say this: Two of my old kids have plans to transfer/attempt to transfer to Colorado. Both power five players. There are inner city parents who are absolutely enamored with Coach Prime. Parents seem to be more enamored than the kids. The word is Hunter has already been taken care of and that was taken care of before Deion took the job. But like everybody has said plenty of times, when it gets down to crunch time let’s see if the money is actually there and how much money you’re willing to turn down. more than likely Colorado is about to take a lot of highly ranked high school prospects who flamed out and feel like a change in scenery is going to help them. People will see their high school rankings and swear Deion is putting together a talented squad.
  20. Bobby can/could play at Jackson State and be successful at that level so him transferring there made sense. There will be better options in the portal for Deion at Colorado.
  21. I’m not the biggest Prime fan but that Colorado locker has some culture issue. One of our coaches accompanied a kid on his official visit to Colorado last year and it was a mess. The kid loved campus and was enjoying his official visit until the head coach’s wife made an ignorant comment to a parent as a “joke”that unraveled the visit. The kid asked his host about the coach after and his host told him and his parent flat out not to come to Colorado and that him along with most guys were planning to get out the program. The host and his roommate both hit the transfer portal.
  22. Really? I never knew he talked bad about the program. I was told he hated Herman but left because of injuries and a change of scenery because he was close to Jake and took his passing very hard.
  23. I really respect that IT can be in the know and not ruin things for Texas. Eric can be an ass at times but IT does look out for Texas’ best interest. if Ketch or Chip ruin this secondary player for Texas after the work that has been put in to make it work, Texas has to pull their media credentials.
