  1. Still have all your arms, legs, and kidneys after getting that middle one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Saw a post elsewhere of somebody finding one in the Dallas area. I was tied up but let my boss know and he happened into his local Total Wine a couple hours later as the right truck was there and got us both squared away. Was going to grab more, but somebody else came up and grabbed a couple, so doesn’t appear to be a Limit 1 situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Tilted Bottle. There’s a main guy, but the handle is run by a handful of guys that run the main Specs in Dallas. They’ve become pretty common knowledge for clues of releases up this way. Problem is, there’s an apartment complex right behind the store. There’s a dozen or more release rats that just squat on his posts and waddle up the hill to buy shit and flip it immediately. Seen a few faces in person that correlated to flipper posts within minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Good to know. The specs ones, at least for the Dallas area, were 127 and 130 I think. The employee that posts all the time said the 130 was definitely the better of the two. The folks that complained didn’t specify which one from what I saw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Where’s that one from? The 134.5 doesn’t sound like one of the Specs ones from a week or so ago I’d seen. A few folks were posting elsewhere that it wasn’t that enjoyable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. “Do you all ever get any Blantons?” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Fair enough. Wouldn’t be the first time the wrong image was used. I saw 100 proof on the pic and was about to hop in the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hmm, so I believe the description or the picture? Hmm... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If you checked my sport coats/suit jackets right now, most of them would probably have a flat koozie in the inner breast pocket. Weddings were fun. Don’t know that I’d travel with a hard side koozie like that Ultra fan right there. You keep doing god’s work though with the ORVW! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I missed this yesterday somehow but a notification sent me to it today. Small world. Thank you all for the post, as it started the convo for me to unload one of mine to the same guy. Was buying a bottle for himself and his dad since he was buying his retiring dad’s company. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This particular one was a barrel pick by the local employee IG account team. I didn’t make it down myself, but it must not have moved as quickly as they thought, because they sent a handful of cases to other metroplex stores. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. No, but I wish I did. Just an example of meeting an internet celebrity in real life that I would genuinely be impressed with. Haha I remember I stumbled across the “old” site based on a sports-related link. Rabbit holed into grilling/bbq, food/travel threads, and whatever all the Paint stories were on. Then I recall something happened with a bunch of blondes at TX St, the site went away, and I thought it wise to stay miles away. Stumbled across it again on this page a while back and thoroughly enjoy it. The Facebook bourbon pages are a hard follow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ha, would be funny to realize someone I know has an alter ego on here. No, he and his wife just burn through a lot of nice wine. His bourbon introduction in recent years has only made it worse. But really, if I found out that I randomly knew that guy that used to do all the MS Paint drawings, I don’t know what I’d do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yeah I’m probably overthinking it. I’ve been honest once or twice. I tinkered around putting less desirable ones higher the next. Can’t remember what I did with the Fall drawing that had Parker’s Heritage and a handful of other non-BTAC offerings, but no luck to date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah my buddy is north of $12k spending per year and hasn’t been drawn either. I can’t figure out how much your preference order factors in, so it’s possible we’re shooting ourselves in the foot that way. I’ve cursed them off a number of times in my head and swore I’d spend all my money elsewhere, but dammit it’s the most convenient for way-home pickups. Also typically bootleg a few cases of vodka and some wine a few times a year to family in OK since cheaper here for whatever reason, so that helps me hit the mark and still be free to spend elsewhere. 17. The Total Wine allocated whiskey ones are based on spending. Have to be Grand Grand Reserve ($2500+ for the year), and you earn an entry for each point. I didn’t get drawn for any of them last year, so I think they rolled me some “bonus” entries to better my odds. Same with a couple buddies. I’m not holding my breathe. 18. So about a month and a half ago, around the time TW sent out the most recent Rare Whiskeys raffle email, I was joking about what a scam it was with a buddy. He and his wife are big into wine as well, so he used a wine concierge person there or whatever. He was trying to leverage that guy to see if his wine snob status could trickle over to the allocated bourbon side, but that idea for squashed quick. The guy also said that the rumblings he’s heard is that they’re going to stop putting the EHTs, Blantons, Weller 12, etc. on the shelf at all. Said they’re likely to start including those in an expanded raffle like they do with BTACs/Pappy stuff now. Makes sense since I’m pretty sure Blantons was one of the freakin options when I did my preference selection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I keep thinking of more things. Frisco, which is off the 70 exit heading into Breckinridge also has a tubing hill that’s usually open by now I think. Frisco is also an option for downtown/dining, but really there are plenty of good places in Breckenridge. I can send a separate list of Breckenridge food options. We picked keystone the last time since we were with a bunch of kids. Keystone doesn’t seem to be as crowded. Most of the best food options are in the main village, so we did those for lunches. We mostly picked up pizza or cooked back at the Vrbo to get the kids down this last time. Went out one night to Snake River. Keystone also has a big lake ice skating rink in their little secondary village that the kids enjoyed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. So like a few have said, thanksgiving is still very early season for a lot of Colorado. That said, your focus for now seems to be on the dining and younger kid activities (mine are 9 and 6 now). We did the week from Christmas through New Years last year with another family at Keystone. We like the kid program best at Keystone for ski school, plus other activities in the area. COVID has changed some things as far as reservations go, but Keystone had a tubing hill that is on the first level of the mountain that you buy separate tickets for. Book early, because it will book up. There’s also usually a play castle type thing that the kids have fun at (with mom, because I’m having beer at the nearest lodge or skiing). Back towards Dillon there’s an ice castle place that lights up at night and has mazes and slides, but it may not open until December. Overall easy town to get around. Unrelated, I found 4 MSRP Stagg Jr. on the shelf at the liquor store next to the main grocery store in Dillon. Lol That said, Breckinridge is my favorite. Skiing is top notch and the downtown/dining is fantastic. Vail/Aspen can make a case but for price and convenience, it’s Breck for me. Breck and Keystone are both on the same pass, so there’s no reason you can’t hit both over the same trip or at least venture over to the other for a day/dinner. If you have specific questions, just let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. My first (or only, depending on the night) pour will always be something moderate to nice. Inevitably I end up switching to something from Herbie’s rundown. Only thing I always have an open of that I haven’t seen mentioned yet that’s good for the later pours or cocktails is Evan Williams Single Barrel, but go ahead and just bypass that and leave those on the shelf. 22. One of the national groups, I assume? I’ll have to ask a buddy that’s on all of those. I can’t keep up with more than 2-3 of the TX ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. That whole product line is fascinating to me. They got rid of the Ancient Ancient Age 10 Year due to limited supply and replaced it with Ancient Age 10 Star in order to keep the name out there. Supposed it will eventually return to the age statement, but for now it’s just a young tasting Blantons mash bill. Never had the straight up Ancient Age though. Regardless, that Ancient Ancient age is the only plastic bottle I’ve ever muled in my checked bag for someone. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Definitely interested. I’ve convinced myself that one is likely to stay in my possession as a showpiece. Had initially wanted to go the route of a cash sale to lessen the blow a Christmas puppy that’s due for pickup in a few weeks, but you definitely checked some boxes there. I can shoot you a message on here to discuss feasibility of logistics and whatnot if serious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
