  1. I'm pretty much coated in a thick lining of it at this point.
  2. Herman has the added pressure of coming off a paper tiger effort from Orlando. Strong's first year defense was scary but the offensive woes made it unsustainable for a defensive minded head coach from the jump. Orlando seemingly had a the chops to let the offense do its thing but ended up being the Cro-Magnon pencil salesmen he appeared to be. The drop off from last year to this year was nothing short of alarming. It was clear he had no answers when opponents started to scheme against him and he had no ability to adjust in game or week to week. I'm not as worried as the OC hire as I am the DC. Now we have to make a home run hire defensively, that new staff has to come in and undo all the poor coaching, install a new scheme, get the defense on the same page, recruit, and all in one offseason. Where have I seen this before...
  3. I mean it's evident that all of this needs to happen but it doesn't feel great... Strong didn't get it right with his transitional hires when he took over. Herman didn't either. Strong couldn't make up the ground necessary to create a cohesive team to do fuck all when he cleaned house. Now we're on the exact same tipping point with Herman hoping that he can make up the ground by reshuffling the majority of his staff. Having to clean house in year three, necessary or not, isn't the best place to be in.
  4. Fuck me if that dude didn't crawl out of a swamp this morning...
  5. Baton Rouge so shit faced they can't tell when the grab an INT anymore. including the players.
  6. LSU has as many first downs as aggy has yards.
  7. They should really stop showing aggy 'mercials for SEC network...
  8. We're not really in a great place here. Fire a coach at the end of a 3 year tenure and off of a 10 win season, sugar bowl victory the season before. When it's rather evident to most at this point, even at times last season, that Herman appears to not be the solution we hoped for and part and parcel to the problem we've endured for a decade now. Or ride Herman again with a supposedly Russian roulette of new coordinators with nothing but a flimsy promise that they'll be rented out for a year if Herman can't figure it out. Again, we find ourselves in a situation where the letting go of personnel sends a message to prospective replacements that we're a program that has no patience for short term failure. Flip side of that is we seem to keep hiring staffs that apparently don't know how to solve getting out of a wet paper bag with a machete in the short term. We're still walking that fine line of sticking with the hires we've made in the respect of continuity versus cutting our losses and trying to find a whole new solution. A 4th iteration of that solution is rather frightening at this point but I can safely say that my expectations have been tempered like a Babylonian whore in hopes of rescue from her destitute existence. This recycle of coaches, head or otherwise, is getting tiresome. I sincerely doubt there will be a hire that moves the needle at this point. Finna be a long offseason.
  9. Dude... what? Sam basically reached into the manila envelope of the generic athlete answers filled with about a dozen stock options on little fortune cookie sized paper-ettes and pulled out "rome wasn't built in a day" and "I don't know the fuck is wrong with my coaching staff". I'm not quite certain how that can be considered one of the worst quotes from a decade from across college... Sam essentially didn't say anything to this fan base. Just QB speak. QB speak exists for the sole purpose of not being parsed. So why are you doing it?
  10. Think we're casting to negative a light on some QB speak from a young man who had a disappointing season overall compared to expectations. Haven't really been paying attention to whether or not he's had his head caved in after his comments after the sugar bowl. But obligatory what is he supposed to say? "Rome wasn't built in a day..." is about as vanilla as it goes. For all intents and porpoises, I don't think anybody knows where the offense went. Dude had some white bread answers after the last game of a shit season. Sam is far from where any vitriol should be directed.
  11. Christ... when I start agreeing with Wescott then there's a serious fucking problem.
  12. So do we need to start preparing ourselves and stocking the liquor cabinets for the inevitable OC hire fuck up a la Sterlin Gilbert? But this time it'll be for both coordinators? Then we have 1-year rentals if Herman can't turn it around significantly and then he's off coaching some directional school on one of the coasts. I was never really keen on Herman but I'd be lying if I said this nosedive isn't wildly shocking. There really isn't a lot of evidence to suggest Herman manages to turn it around at a school like Texas after his team regressed sub-fucking-stantially every single week. His face at the end of the Baylor game was rather telling of a dude that realized he's not doing a very good job and that his best efforts aren't good enough to win games. Blank stare of a narcissist who's realized he may in fact be completely full of shit.

  14. So... this is shaping up to be a rather fantastical nose dive in a recent memory that is full of spectacularly feces ladened nose dives. From losing by a score to LSU and ou to... whatever this is. Par for the course I suppose? At least Herman gave us last year to heap some hope on as opposed to Charlie who manages only do it against the domers. Progress I suppose? The fuck happened between ou and Kansas? Injuries and loss of starters I can buy. But if a system is effective on either side of the ball, truly effective, then there's a semblance of continuity when you lose players to injury or to the league. So what in the fuck am I watching week in and week out? Besides a continuity of regression. That's a coaching problem. It's the coaching problem we've endured for 3 straight regimes now. We gave Herman an extension and Orlando a fat pay raise. What they put on the field this season was a half-assed, half-baked, narcissistic belief that they had it alllll figured out. Yet I'm not surprised. Dude couldn't beat Maryland in two outings. For all his cockiness, Herman can't rise above this "We're Texas" mentality that has been plaguing us for more than a decade now. In fact, he's basically embodying it at this point. Seems like he expected to roll out his team and they'll win because he's in charge. Team can't tackle, can't execute, can't take a punch in the mouth, can't deal with adversity, can't deal with being down, CANNOT GET UP TO PLAY ANY SINGLE OPPONENT. Baylor was in shambles 3 seasons ago and they just punched a ticket to the ship against ou. Besides the fact that this staff has demonstrated a lack of ability to put our players in situations where they can be successful, which is obvious by how teams have been fucking our defense up and bottling up our offense at an exponential rate every week, the players seem to be more aware of just how unprepared and how ill coached they are. Shirts for this year should just read "Texas Football: Whelp..." with an empty bottle of tequila and a dead hooker on the back. I seriously don't even give a fuck anymore. It's legitimate, textbook apathy at this point. It's kind of hilarious how Strong had a historically horrible run here and then Herman manages to put this season together. Saddest part is the program is yet again left with its hands in its pockets and only offering up a shoulder shrug and a "maybe next year" muttered under their breath. But hey... Midland played at DKR and bevo blvd is kinda tight so...
