  3. On Michael Terry, - For some time now, the assessment has been that Oregon and Nebraska are our main competition. - On Monday, Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) said Terry didn't make it to Oregon (yay!), and reiterated his Texas pick: "One of the rare times the San Antonio native isn't the highest ranked prospect on the list, it goes to show you the amount of talent the Longhorns are welcoming to campus on Saturday. After not making it to Oregon this past weekend for the Ducks' home win over Ohio State, Michael Terry III is expected back in Austin this weekend for Texas' biggest home game of the year. After seeing Nebraska to open the season, this'll be Terry's second time back on campus this season alone after stopping by the Forty Acres for the UTSA game earlier in the fall. A December timeline continues to be what the five-star tells folks, however Horns247 is expecting a commitment to take place sometime before the month of December. Nebraska and Oregon have been the main competition to the burnt orange going back to the summer, but at this point in the recruitment I'd be pretty shocked if the pick doesn't end up being the Longhorns. I'm not expecting anything as of right now, but it would not shock me if a big Texas win over Georgia on Saturday speeds up the timeline of the nation's No. 1 athlete." Then, Mike Schaefer (Huskers 247) said this yesterday: "Michael Terry III — This five-star wide receiver is looking to make a December decision and he's been in Lincoln once already for a game as he was in town for the Colorado game. There's a chance he could double back later this season. Texas is the primary competition for Nebraska and the Longhorns, who look like the best team in the country right now, are the expected landing spot. Still the Huskers have sold Terry and his family on the idea that Nebraska is putting together a program designed to get talented players to the NFL, built around Matt Rhule's experience. Still it's beginning to feel a bit like a long shot." :-)))
  4. Cross-posting, given the "hi" discussions. May have been the "hi" from yesterday - sounds yuuuuuuge ...

  7. 247 Sports / Hank South confirming the Justus Terry visit for the TX/GA game. Five-star DL schedules visit to Texas for Georgia game Hank South (247 Sports) Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry plans to unofficially visit Texas next weekend when the Longhorns host Georgia, the Manchester (Ga.) product confirms to Horns247. Terry, a one-time USC commit, is trending to the Bulldogs heavily on the 247Sports Crystal Ball but the Longhorns could have a window of opportunity to make a move for the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder. Alabama and Florida State, among others, are also involved for the Peach State talent. Terry is ranked the No. 2 defensive lineman and the No. 8 overall player in the country, per the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
  8. If that many kids happen, he ain't going in through the back, that's for sure ... 😏 😏 😏

  18. I hope Livingstone has a fantastic career as a Horn - I'm sure we all do. His profile lists a 100m time of ... 11.7. (As a soph - no idea whether that was an official time, wind aided, or what.) Given Wingo's 10.55, he would be pretty far behind 🙂 Even assuming improvement over time, official times of sub-10 seem VERY unlikely. For reference, TJ Moore and Perry Thompson are 2024 WRs listed at 6'3". They have times of 11.113/11.5 (Moore) and 11.1 (Thompson). Moore is a 5 star, and Thompson, just outside 5-star territory. Guys like Roy Williams had mid 10s, but ... yeah, different level of prospect. If Livingstone uses his size/body control / hands to serve as a reliable red zone target and possession receiver, that would be an asset and a great start. Any speed/quicks to create some separation, would be a bonus. (As would his mellifluous voice and wizardry with a guitar ... allegedly.)
  19. Jamarion Carlton's visit update. Sounds like a monster recruit, and a priority for the staff. Would rock if we locked him up early. Temple 2026 five-star EDGE Jamarion Carlton recaps fourth Texas visit of the year for Miss. St. game Jordan Scruggs (247 Sports)
  20. Couple of prospect visit-related notes. 1) NELSON MCGUIRE (IOL) This guy visited Auburn last weekend, Texas this weekend, and will be at A&M next weekend. Also scheduled to visit Clemson (in Oct). His bio below - started off on defense, played some tackle, throws shot put. 2) DAYLAN MCCUTCHEON (FROM FSU 247) Some reactions from the FSU board - spoilered below.
