  1. So, what's going on "in the 'Sip"? (Or however they say it in Oxford, MS?) Three decommits today ... And for the lulz, from Ole Miss 247 -
  2. Posted this on the A&M '25 thread, by mistake. Posting here, given the support staff discussions above. Tried to find an up to date bio for the guy, couldn't. So posted one from when he joined ND in 2017. Bill Rees Finds Home At Notre Dame Rees spent nearly 20 years on the collegiate level and another two decades in the NFL before landing a post similar to the one he has at Notre Dame at Wake Forest in 2015. Oct 11th, 2017, 12:00 PM
  3. Dakorien Moore and Michael Terry III were at Oregon for their OVs, this weekend. Here's the update from Oregon 247.
  4. Sorry, was multi-tasking, my bad. He was saying that Texas led, was in a good position. Tennessee may be the (primary) competition.
  5. At least in the 2022 class, at DL/Edge, we signed - - Finkley / 255 lbs. / 4 star - Tapp / 245 lbs. / 4 star - Ross / 280 lbs. / 4 star - Bledsoe / 270 lbs. / 4 star - Bryant / 306 lbs. / 4 star In addition, - Swanson / 255 / 3 star - Brown / 210 / 3 star - Burke / 225 / 3 star Don't know whether it was someone else who really did the work to land these guys, bad evals, head cases, or perhaps there are some late bloomers ... but we did get a bunch of 4 stars in that class.
  6. OTF Stream - June 23, 2024 - Sunday evening - Gerry/Bobby/Vogel JAIME FFRENCH Great visit; everybody is even ("we believe Texas leads"). Ohio State not in it, Miami likely out. Tennessee may be the leader. May wait until Aug 30th to announce publicly, but schools may not have to wait that long. KALIQ LOCKETT Lacey - very positive on Ffrench, says Lockett is still trying to figure it out. Bama/FSU/A&M all think they're right there. Could be wondering whether he should go to Texas, if Moore/Ffrench end up there. Vogel doesn't think we're the team to beat. Cloudier than for Moore/Ffrench. DAKORIEN MOORE Texas, w/ Ohio State second. Oregon not a player. NATHAN TILMON Texas has confidence. D-TACKLES VISITING OTHER PLACES Kevin Wynn - ends up at FSU. Hilson - says he's locked in with FSU, we'll see. Zion Williams - LSU July 4th. Texas down to keeping Brandon Brown. DJ Sanders - things looking good, something may happen within a week - down to Texas/Mich. Josiah Sharma (at Bama this week) - can he tell Courtney Morgan and Deboer no. And Myron Charles. Sark's strategy - recruit through the whistle (lulz), hang around the rim, look at senior offers. MICHAEL FASUSI Tremendous visit. Confidence on Texas side. TX/OU battle. Tex - Flood strong development plus process. (Never had to go to portal for OL.) Kelvin Banks good convo; Goosby good host. Goosby talks about physical conditioning and process. (Goosby hosted Fasusi and Rogers.) Fasusi's decision may take a while to play out, at least publicly. Doesn't expect that decision to come out early July or soon. Defensive Back Unlikely to target Antoine. Feel good about Anding (decide within next week); Brew? - right there with Ohio State; end of July decision. If we get Anding, we may then sit back and try to get Sanchez or Brew (if he picks Ohio State) or go after someone else. Spoke with Kade Phillips - decision July 4th or 6th. Rush of commits starting July 1st through 10th. Nick Townsend TE is where he is best suited. Texas did well with his visit. Vogel likes where Texas sits. Thinks it's Bama/Aggie/Texas (think he meant this for Townsend.) Tynook Hines May announce w/ Townsend, July 7th or July 8th. ND has been pushing; visited USC w/ Townsend. Thinks it's Bama/Aggie/Texas (think he meant this for Townsend.) Kelshaun Johnson May happen before July 11th; A&M/Texas. Brooks/Fasusi/French may carry their decisions out a little further, even if colleges know where they stand. Madden Faraimo Bobby - thought he was an ND lock - did Texas do enough to become involved? Vogel - think Texas did - talked about life after football, etc.. (Story time w/ uncle Gerry - the staffer who picked up Faraimo at the airport, said "Good to see you back again … " so he's been to campus. Wasn't known before.) Texas took them to a Catholic church. Riley Pettijohn Aggies/Ohio State/Texas, very tight race. CHAT Q&A Chance of getting all three - Barnes/Pettijohn/Faraimo - less than 50/50. (Duh!) Gerry - feel great about Moore, really good about Ffrench, Lockett's a wait and see. Behind the scenes, feels like Moore/Ff go to Texas; will be surprised if all three do. Adding a new Hi! Thinks they're up to 6. Biggest takeaways from weekend Vogel - kids getting to know each other Gerry - a) Showed the university and football program off really well. One parent whose kid may not end up here said it was the best OV, even if Texas isn't the best place for his kid. B) Texas now using freshmen and redshirt freshmen as hosts (Goosby hosting Fasusi/Rogers, Wingo hosting multiple 5 stars (including Moore, I think)) Most excited families - Ffrench and Faraimo families. (Faraimo family okay w/ him going to Texas.) # of LBs and WRs: Likely 3 and 3 … W/ Matai the USC kid, Texas may chill and see what happens w/ Riley after the season (NFL), etc.. WR - 4 if it involves speed. Kyle Flood - Nigerian soccer shirt w/ Fasusi - that's an experienced recruiter. Michael Terry - wild card, two visits in the last month How many of the 9 uncommitted prospects do we get? Gerry - 5, Bobby - 5, Vogel - 6
  7. MICHAEL FASUSI - GERRY HAMILTON / OTF Texas vs Oklahoma for Fasusi is where it remains headed with the Aggies swinging. A source close to the recruitment said Fasusi truly values the plan and development of Kyle Flood. Fasusi also really enjoyed his away football time in Norman. That appealed to him, maybe more than Texas. And yes, the players went out to 6th area a little while last night. It’s a recruitment Texas can win. But still in the balance/battle. MICHAEL FASUSI - GERRY HAMILTON / OTF Texas remains confident… to be clear. The Horns side feels good. NATHAN TILMON - GERRY HAMILTON / OTF Texas safety target Nathan Tilmon (Mansfield, Texas/Timberview) opens up recruitment Texas feels pretty good here - for what it’s worth
  8. Ohhh ... Maid! I thought it was Maid. Like so ... Huh. Who woulda thunk it.
  9. Aggies getting ready for their first national championship opportunity in a big three sport since forever, and Greg Sankey comes on the pregame show and talks about the excitement surrounding Texas and OU joining the SEC. Lulz.
  10. (I would have gone w/ Vivaldi for the sound track ... 🤭 🤭 🤭.)
  11. Notes from the Gerry / Bobby OTF Stream - June 22, 2024 (AM) Kade Phillips Good things behind the scenes, he and family wanted this offer; would like a chance at corner - open to safety, if that doesn't work out; Texas or LSU decision; Derek Williams is his host (guy from Louisiana, who chose Texas) Jaime Ffrench Continue to hear positive things; had a call this AM - blue blood program thinks Moore and Ffrench ultimately end up at Texas; Mom, Dad, sibling, couple of coaches with Ffrench; Texas had confidence starting weekend, not heard anything to change that; Bobby - looks like Texas has a great shot; Gerry - Mom really liked her last visit, Jaime mentioned that, Mom flashed Hook 'em stepping off the plane, really excited about football/academic combination at Texas Madden Faraimo At one point, was thought to be a lock to ND; Texas/Notre Dame competition; Mom and Dad with him, Nansen attached at the hip on visit; really big kid Michael Fasusi Hearing good things about the visit so far; Gerry - now think it's Texas vs. OU; Texas has been in a favorable position for a while, now need to close it out; Gerry - Texas feels pretty good, but knows it's a battle w/ three big regional schools for a top tackle; Goosby hosting Fasusi Brandon Brown At OU this weekend; Mom is w/ him at OU - very interesting; barring something this weekend, Gerry still thinks it's Texas/LSU; same three schools as Dominick Williams; visiting Tennessee, but they're not in it; OU may try to muddy the waters against Texas, if they don't get in it themselves FSU visitors - Kevin Wynn / Myron Charles / Javion Hilson Big weekend for FSU; Wynn and Charles are two of their top four; FSU has thought they have been the favorites for those two, since spring; with Zion Williams not coming, these visits become even bigger for Texas (Wynn/Charles/Brown/Sharma). Javion Hilson - interesting if Mom continues to say she wants Hilson out of state. Alabama visitors - Josiah Sharma / Dijon Lee Josiah Sharma - committed to Washington (DeBoer and Courteney Morgan - that'll be the tough call if Sharma doesn't commit to Alabama). Dijon Lee - wild card - expected to commit June 28th. Had a better than expected visit to Texas. Nansen recruitment. Also fighting Bama for Lockett, Townsend, Kaleb Edwards. Oregon visitor - Dakorien Moore Host Evan Stewart. But Texas vs. Ohio State. Texas remains favorite. Ohio State visitor - Dorian Brew Ohio State vs. Texas. Oregon/USC thinks they're in it. Mom in Ohio State Hall of Fame, visiting with Brew. Almost committed in Jan. Up there for spring break. Ohio State has #1 and #2 corners already committed. Texas A&M visitor - Riley Pettijohn Throwing kitchen sink, hard sell. Texas has been in a pretty good spot for a while; A&M knew they were working from behind, going into the weekend. Ohio State in it too.
