  1. Gerry's position - he's stated this multiple times - is that Sanders would be a good, developmental take, provided he was say the 4th DL taken. He thought we needed to sign 3 out of - Brandon Brown - Kevin Wynn - Myron Charles - Josiah Sharma - Zion Williams - Derry Norris (haven't heard his name in some time ... ) In that scenario, Sanders would be a good addition, as a 4th. Am assuming these are independent of Lance Jackson. - Of the ones above, Jackson/Brown/Wynn/Charles/Sharma have all OVed. - Williams and Sanders coming in this weekend. - No idea re: Norris; maybe he's no longer being pursued.
  2. Per Gerry, Dorian Brew's decision may come down to Ohio State or Texas. FYI, in this class, Ohio State has - #1 corner (Sanchez) - #2 corner (Offord) - #4 safety (Delane) - two other safeties
  3. Holy smokes, Michigan ... that cookie cake. And how appropriate that our old friend sounds delighted.
  4. Elite 11 rankings, by the Elite 11 staff, 247 staff (writers), and On3. Overall, Lacey did better in the Accuracy portion on Day 2, and worse (relatively) on the Pro Day portion. Also remember - they have a total of 20 QBs there, and 11 of them will end up as THE "Elite 11". DAY 1 (ELITE 1 STAFF) DAY 2 CUMULATIVE (ELITE 11 STAFF) (AFTER ACCURACY & PRO DAY WORKOUTS) THIS IS 247SPORTS / ANDREW IVINS' RANKING, AFTER DAY 2, CUMULATIVE (LACEY IS 10th) THIS IS ON3, FOR DAY 2 (ACCURACY AND PRO DAY)
  5. Good (contextual) notes from Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247). And an article, spoilered. Aledo 2026 three-star RB Raycine Guillory decommits from Texas Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247)
  6. Lulz. The original post, and the punchline ... wow. Bravo.
  7. The gist of Scrugg's note below - Tynook Hines: Likely Notre Dame at this time; Texas unlikely to push hard, unless Ffrench/Lockett prospects don't look good. Kiotti Armstrong: Canceling Texas visit Nick Townsend: Bama leads after their official, but expects Texas to win out after his visit Kaleb Edwards: Townsend much higher priority; Edwards has a bunch of visits, not sure where things stand Michael Fasusi: OU had very good visit; now it's likely a Texas / OU battle; still expect Texas to win out Michael Terry: Oregon visit coming up; likely a Tx/OU decision; expect Texas to likely win out Wednesday night recruiting notes A bevy of recruiting notes on a few top targets for the Longhorns. Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247)
  8. Need to get us into pole position ... we're Banking on you!
  9. Kelshaun Johnson update Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Mike Roach has entered in a 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction in favor of Texas A&M to land Hitchcock Top247 WR Kelshaun Johnson. On Hank and I’s end, in speaking with Johnson, those around him, and those at Texas coming out of the official visit to Texas this past weekend, the read we got was that Texas would end up winning the recruitment. In speaking with those close to Johnson today and in sharing intel with Mike, we now expect the decision to be Texas A&M. We’re holding off on changing our crystal ball predictions for now because things could still change, but, for now things are trending the Aggies’ way. It is very likely the predictions end up getting changed to being in favor of the Aggies between now and Johnson’s commitment date though. Far from good news, but with what Texas is expecting to land at the receiver position in 2025, this is the best case scenario for “missing” on a prospect. We still expect Dakorien Moore to end up in the class, one of Kaliq Lockett or Jaime Ffrench to end up in the class, and one of Tanook Hines, Daylan McCutcheon, or Andrew Marsh to end up in the class if things don’t sway back to Texas between now and Johnson’s commitment date. Other targets could emerge as well, but for now Hines, McCutcheon, and Marsh are likeliest for the third spot if Lockett and Ffrench end up being split like we expect.
  10. 1) We already have commitments from - Jackson Christian - Jordan Coleman - Devin Coleman 2) Fasusi has long been our top priority, and I doubt he would be scared away by any other prospect we're seriously pursuing 3) We've been after Mills for a while, and I believe he's a silent commit; not able to find it, but there was a note on Buckeye 247 that pretty much said so 4) So I think we're looking at - Christian, J Coleman, D Coleman, Mills, and Fasusi (hopefully); if we get Brooks or Rogers, I believe we take that player as a 6th OL; it's more likely that Brooks/Rogers is deterred by Fasusi, and not the other way round Here are the notes from Gerry's comments on a stream, in May:
  11. Lulz. From Aggie 247, about ESPN putting the Dia Bell commitment on their ticker. 😂 😂 😂
  12. 🔔 🔔 🔔 Screenshot, just in case he pulls a Brandon Harris ...
  13. Snippet from Hank South - Forgot to include this in The Stampede Hank South But Tashard Choice is actively involved in Nick Brooks' recruitment. Brooks is originally from Buford, Ga. which obviously connects the two. Still working on getting Brooks on the phone, but wanted to note that.

  15. Positivity, holla! The Stampede: Diving into a momentous recruiting weekend at Texas In today's The Stampede, Horns247's Jordan Scruggs and Hank South break down everything we're hearing from a momentous weekend in Austin, as well as other VIP nuggets from across the college football landscape. 16. Couple of CBs for Texas, from Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247).
  17. So, this is interesting. IIRC, the inside joke on Horns 247 used to be that we got commits whenever Mike went on vacation. I think in the note below, he means that Moore committed, but it's a silent (and Moore will go public after he's done w/ visits). In any event, it's a very positive hint from the Timorous One; he wouldn't throw this out if he didn't hear something significant.
  18. Some notes from the OTF/Gerry/Vodel/Rod livestream this evening: Kelshaun Johnson - A&M or Texas (may drop USC visit); Sark called him immediately after he returned from A&M (indicates priority); Johntay Cook hosted - also shows importance Tynook Hines - Notre Dame / Texas, will USC factor Dakorien Moore - Gerry's percentage 65%/70%; very comfortable with where Texas is in this recruitment; Moore specifically asked for Wingo, as a host Nick Brooks - Texas right there with Georgia Lots of early July commitments (Texas or otherwise) Smith Orogbo - great visit; parents didn't make trip; OK this week (I think) Kevin Wynn - in the game; good job w/ Culinary career stuff Brandon Brown, Marco Jones, Jonathan Cunningham - great visits Riley Pettijohn - A&M making a big run; will take a perfect visit w/ the Agroids, to pull him away from Texas Marucus Harris - Texas told him they don't really have a spot for him (shows what Texas expects in this class) Dallas Wilson - 5 star, one of the best, keep a watch on him, depending on how the others go Daylon McCutcheon - smooth route runner; not as fast as the other key targets Kaleb Edwards - Texas extremely impressed by Edwards on his visit (last week, I think) Nick Townsend - may be top of list of guys w/ whom Texas needs to make a move; likely Texas/Bama; elite skills' "certified dude" … lulz; may be top TE on Texas' board (someone asked about Townsend vs. Armstrong). Michael Terry - reminds Gerry of Niblack; these guys are better athletes than JT Sanders Winston - visited Auburn, visiting Bama this weekend And ... a lulz-worthy image (grabbed it from a Brooks video they showed)
