Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Gerry just said Goosby's injury was a hand issue - fingers caught in a jersey - could be wrapped, and goal was to get him back by beginning of next week; could possibly be back earlier than that. Gerry / Bobby didn't make too much of the moves - develop emergency depth - then wondered whether Sark would actually move Neto to LT in a game, if required. (If Goosby went down - just a hypothetical, people, nothing to do with the hand injury!) Speculated about whether Robertson could be the sixth-best OL (and so bringing him in causing the ripple effect on others ...). Gerry thought the depth at center was the best he had seen (or something positive to that effect).

A few days ago, I had posted an article about how unsettled Ohio State was at a few key positions - the lines in particular - and CTJ has commented multiple times on that subject, as well. This is very interesting stuff. Posted today, and written from the perspective of going up against Texas in a couple of weeks. "With an eye on the Longhorns, the Scarlet and Gray have decided to reassess their offensive line combination. That doesn't mean Ohio State wouldn't have done this in other years, but facing the No. 1 team in the country—whom the Buckeyes just defeated in the College Football Playoff semifinal—and with the reigning Freshman of the Year at defensive end, will make any team question everything." I'll be so thrilled if this kid's back to 100%. What a boost it could be, to get an elite RB back. And he sounds like a great kid (esp. the last comment in the clip.)- Texas A&M Recruiting 2026: The World's Drunkest Elk

FROM YESTERDAY BEGINNING OF AUGUST Regarding Arch staying on at Texas, which scenario would most payers prefer: Scenario A (Arch leaves in 2026): As a 1st-year player in 2026, without any direct experience in Sark's system, trying to beat out a 3rd year Trey and a 2nd year KJ Lacey; or even more difficult, trying to beat out an incumbent in 2027 Scenario B (Arch leaves in 2027): Sit behind Arch and learn Sark's system in 2026, and then as a 2nd year guy, win an open competition vs 4th/3rd year Trey/Lacey (and one of them may have left by then) (Btw, I too think Arch stays; just spelling out the scenarios.)- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

👀 👀 👀 KJ Edwards to visit Texas (and LSU). ************************************************************************************* Elite Texas A&M commit eyeing fall visits to Texas, LSU Hank South (Horns 247) Edwards' father: "I said are you going to Texas for a game, I asked him yesterday, and he said yeah dad I still want to go. My whole thing — and I know they got the other running back committed, but we don't really focus on none of that — with him is if we need to go make some more games, I want to make sure when that time comes that you really feel like you made the best decision considering everything. "I actually talked to him this morning, it's a few games that Texas has that we're going to see about going." FULL ARTICLE- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
"Probably?" :-)) (Clemson 247, referring to (the content of) the story on Horns 247.) I know, I know, it's FCB ... but ignore the click bait-y heading. Lots of quotes from Taaffe, Guilbeau, Joseph, LIttleton' mom, etc..). The Insider: The story of freshman Graceson Littleton and why he could end up starting in Texas' secondary In this week's Insider, we give you the story of freshman Graceson Littleton and why he could end up as a starter in Texas' secondary when the Longhorns open the season at Ohio State and take the field against All-American receiver Jeremiah Smith on Aug. 30. Given Ohio State's level of talent, they may well be deciding between good options and end up being good at these positions, but it's interesting that multiple key positions on offense appear to be unsettled. If these reports are honest and accurate. Specifically, QUARTERBACK It's still supposedly a competition between Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz. Sayin's good throws / inconsistency, vs. Kienholz's reliability / lower ceiling. LEFT TACKLE Their transfer tackle from Rice is apparently not a lock; they're considering Austin Siereveld (2 starts last year, played in most games, but mostly as a guard). RUNNING BACK Guess they have Peoples and transfer Donaldson splitting time, with others getting looks ... Donaldson played a bunch at WV, but in the aggregate, sounds like a far less established group relative to Judkins and Henderson last year. They appear thrilled w/ Klare (at least as a pass catcher) and their tight end group, and they of course have an elite set of WRs. And they discuss their good depth on defense, at positions other than DT. FULL ARTICLE Ohio State fall camp notebook: Week One What we're hearing coming out of the Buckeyes' preseason. Bobby/Vogel gave an update on their livestream, 30 min ago. - heard some positives; left field under his own power; no boot brace or crutch. "Sounds like it's not the worst case." Sounds like it's on the optimistic, positive side. Bobby - "you don't let guys leave without crutches if you think it might be an ACL." Then said "I'm told he was carted in, but came back later." Cole Brevard - right back in to finish scrimmage. Winston - expected out for a couple of months. What they've heard behind the scenes. (Texas has not confirmed.) Mosley - held out for an ankle, they believe; don't think it's anything major. Lockett played w/ the first group. CJ Baxter took the first handoff - ! - word is CJ Baxter may contribute more than expected. Yay! Baxter and Wisner rotated with the ones. (Wisner looked more filled out ... ) Christian Clark provided a real spark ... may end up being RB3 (chatter behind the scenes). May end up being the out of the backfield threat. Vogel thinks he's the most sure-handed. Endries/Shannon started at TE; Washington also played with the ones. (Sucks about Winston - the OTF guys were super high on him.)- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
UPDATE (1:15 pm CT) - A source said Brooks was walking around after the scrimmage and “looked OK.” Notes from the Texas Longhorns first scrimmage of training camp VIP ChipBrown247 AUSTIN, Texas — Here are some notes from the Texas Longhorns' first significant scrimmage of training camp on Saturday. The scrimmage was closed to the public, but Horns247 tracked down a few sources who were able to observe the scrimmage. Here's what those sources said: — Freshman offensive tackle Nick Brooks, who has been working at right tackle in the wake of Andre Cojoe's season-ending injury, left the scrimmage with what appeared to be a right leg injury. UPDATE (1:15 pm CT) - A source said Brooks was walking around after the scrimmage and “looked OK.” — The defense got a lot of push up front with senior defensive end Ethan Burke batting a couple passes. — One source said, "The defensive line is the real deal. There was a lot of pressure on the quarterbacks - so much so that they kind of let it play out sometimes. The front seven dominated." — Arch Manning had a touchdown pass to Ryan Wingo, who had a good showing on Saturday as well as Parker Livingstone. "Arch missed a couple passes high," because he was under pressure, one source said. — Quarterback Trey Owens had a good performance, connecting with Ryan Niblett, Aaron Butler and walk-on Rett Anderson in the passing game. "Owens was sharp with the ball and looked good." — Quarterback "KJ" Karle Lacey scrambled for a TD late in the scrimmage. — All of the team's top four quarterbacks - Manning, Owens, Matthew Caldwell and Lacey - connected on passes with tight ends. One source said the tight ends "were probably the best group - top to bottom - today." —Manning ran with the No. 1 offense. Owens and Caldwell split reps with the No. 2 offense, and Caldwell and Lacey split reps with the No. 3 offense. — Quintrevion Wisner, Christian Clark and CJ Baxter all had at least one impressive run.- Texas A&M Football 2025 - On the Edge of Glory(holes)
