  1. Streets, on Jonah Williams "If asked today, I'd lean slightly to the Longhorns, but with 72 hours to go, there's a lot that can change." Edit - just saw 2147's note ... But the real jaw dropper ... lulz. " ... safeties coach Blake Gideon worked the phones during July while everyone else in the football world went on vacation." The recruitment race for Jonah Williams: Inside the final days before 2025's best available recruit commits Get the inside scoop on Jonah Williams' highly-anticipated college commitment, which goes down Friday. Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oregon and USC are the finalists for Williams. Mike Roach (247 Sports)
  2. On Jonah Williams, from LSU/Oregon/Aggie 247. LSU 247 Oregon 247 Aggie 247
  3. Yeah, he's a troll, but he nails this one - no cap!
  4. Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) gave an update on the 4 5-stars Texas is pursuing. Some key points below, followed by the whole enchilada. While wading through it, I was reminded of this funny I read a while ago. Employee shows up late. Boss: "Late again?" Employee: "Sorry! Ran into Alex Haley in the lobby, and asked him how his family was doing." ************************************************************************** Jonah Williams Decision Aug 24th. Source believes Texas. Schlossnagle an advantage. Scruggs thinks Phillips likely to flip to LSU, making Williams even more important. Once he decides, unlikely to change his mind. And this made me lulz - " ... the source I spoke with this morning doesn't believe A&M being such a tradition (midnight yell and things of that sort) rich school is helping them much if, at all, ..." Michael Terry III August decision possible, but looking more likely to get pushed into the season (with in-season visits, etc.). Scruggs still leans Texas. Full staff push, with Wingo's pop helping. As with Williams, once Terry decides, he's likely to stick with the decision. Scruggs emphasizes that NIL is a very small factor in this recruitment. Jaime FFrench Decision August 30th. Sources in Austin and Florida like the Horns at this point. Unlike Williams and Terry, this recruitment is not likely to be done on the 30th. Like Wingo's, will continue until signing day. Michael Fasusi Decision August 21. Source believes Fasusi and family prefer OU. Scruggs likely to change CB to OU, if current trend continues. Early playing time at OU a key factor. Also thinks Brooks to Texas very likely, and may put in CB for Brooks to Texas. Thinks Brooks commitment date (August 23rd) was chosen based on Fasusi's likely decision to OU. FULL ARTICLE The latest on the quad of five-star Texas football targets expected to announce decisions in August The latest Horns247 is hearing on the quad of five-star Texas football targets expected to announce decisions in August. Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247)
  5. The mods from LSU 247, on Ffrench. Slightly different take from the other mod, West.
  6. Gaby Urrutia (Miami 247) today, on Jaime Ffrench
  7. The Stampede: 10 important 2026 prospects ahead of 2024 season A look into important 2026 prospects ahead of a crucial time in the recruiting cycle — junior seasons. Horns247 Staff
  8. HANK SOUTH (HORNS 247), ON FFRENCH: AND THIS, FROM LACEY ...
  9. Gaby Urrutia (Miami 247) shares his thoughts on Jaime Ffrench's recruitment. "I still think Texas and LSU are schools worth watching here, specifically Texas. I'd probably lean that way right now, but Miami has made up some real ground in this recruitment recently. Getting Ffrench down to Miami at the end of July was a win for the program." FULL ARTICLE My thoughts on 5-star WR Jaime Ffrench Gaby Urrutia (Miami 247)
  10. Was just editing it - perhaps that's why? - is it there now?
  11. Billy Liucci - who indubitably has Watched. That. Tape - has a slightly different description:
  12. Steve Wiltfong, on 5 stars that Texas is contending for and that are expected to announce in August (Fasusi, Terry, Ffrench, Jonah Williams). Fasusi: Confidence in Austin, but don't sleep on Oklahoma and A&M (reiterated that A&M is in it). No real pick, but we're in it as much as anyone else is. Terry: If forced to pick, would go with Texas; Oregon and Nebraska are the others, Nebraska doing a good job. Ffrench: Texas was leading, then Ffrench went to LSU and Miami. Confidence in Coral Gables. Need to make some calls to check if Texas still leads. Jonah Williams: Texas and LSU at the top; Texas best guess today. How would he rank them in order of likelihood of Texas landing them? Well, far be it for me to deny you all the pleasure of a pic of the dickhead. Interesting order.
  13. !!! Scruggs: "But as we're now less than 24 hours ahead of Lockett's decision, this has burnt orange written all over it." South: "On the eve of his decision, we feel Texas is in a prime position to bring this recruitment home." "I like Texas with a big win to kick off what could be a massive month of recruiting momentum for the Longhorns."
  14. Interesting snippet that could apply to Nick Brooks, from Benjamin Wolk (Staff - Georgia/Dawgs 247) (They currently have 4 OL - two listed as OTs - committed in this class.) The same staffer - Wolk - didn't have Brooks in his mock class for Georgia, a couple of days ago. Have not seen a response yet, to the question below: And this, FWIW, from Hank South (Horns 247). It's from the Brooks/decision date thread.
  15. ON KALIQ LOCKETT - Mike Raoch (247Sports National Reporter) - With less than 48 hours to go for his announcement, Mike Roach reiterated that he "really likes" where Texas stands w/ Lockett. Ironic, but when 'ol Streets has chosen to make a strong prediction, he has been pretty accurate. Andrew Hattersley (Aggie 247) "Heading into Wednesday's decision though, Texas looks to be the team to beat after missing out on Dakorien Moore in early July." Brett Greenberg (Bama 247) The primary competition is Alabama. Here's a note from a few days ago, on Lockett.
