Hey, you can't park there! or That's not how an end dump works! Saw this driving home.
The driver of an 18-wheeler who was involved in a dramatic crash off of U.S. 81/287 in Decatur Saturday morning has been hospitalized but is expected to recover.
The wreck occurred at approximately 5:33 a.m, said Decatur Police Chief Delvon Campbell. The driver, George Edward Crow, 63, of Garland was traveling south in a 2005 Freightliner before leaving the roadway at 500 South U.S. 81/287.
Campbell said Crow missed the guardrail and continued to travel south before going over the concrete bridge and landing on 800 W. Business 380. The cabin of the 18-wheeler crashed through and dove into the roadway below, while the dump sand trailer remained partially attached to the concrete barrier of the embankment.
