A year removed from parting ways with the seller and we are better off for it in many ways. Our process is right, what I need is techs that follow it consistently. It's like at times they are afraid to make money.
Just moved our shop up north a bit. Dropped rent from $4500 to $1700/month.
Hired a marketing firm in Austin to assist with PPC, SEO, SM, etc.. One month in, so not much to report there.
Landed some bigger Commercial jobs but those are less profitable than Resi.
Finally got a good sales type guy. He's still a tech but runs the same process we do and it shows.
Got the financials set the way they should be so I can accurately track profit margins. This was an undertaking.
On a separate side note, I'm part of a PE firm acquiring HVAC, Plumbing and Electric companies across the US. Just closed our first in NC a few weeks back and looking to close another in KC before Thanksgiving. We have a $100MM to spend with a very attractive upside option for owners that partner with us. Exit timeframe is 24-36 months based on our current pipeline.
