  1. Not sure passing out handies under a mopac bridge passes as “real jobs” I know you’ve carved out a good career beating off and blowing homeless dudes, but is this really the direction you want to go? Wait what am I saying? Of course it is
  2. It’s cool with me. Working 3-11 today. Watch the game then boom. 2 hours of my shift is taken care of
  3. We clearly have the bats to go on a run. Need Witt to be awesome like he used to be. That’d be huge. With him, the rotation and bullpen will take care of itself
  4. Also I like Witt starting Tuesday. He looked pretty good his last 2 outings. Christ if he could be just 80% of what he was in ‘21 and early ‘22, we’re in business.
  5. We’re not canning him dude. Seriously do you watch Texas baseball? We’ve started this way pretty much every year Pierce has been here. Talk to me in mid April. I’ll go ahead and guess we’ll be top 3 in the conference standings by then
  6. My head coach when we would be in a 0-2 or 1-2 counts and one of us would try to spin a curve into the dirt or a slider that ends up in the lefties batter box. He’d yell “GOD DAMMIT THROW STRIKES!!!! Basically meaning fuck that off speed shit. Toss a fastball or change over the place. With a pitcher friendly count. Couldn’t believe my ears.
  7. @B00M I hate you so much right now. ‘06-‘08 hurt so fucking bad. ‘06 and ‘08 would’ve done some serious damage in Omaha. Same with the 2010 team. Still can’t believe the drop off from 2010-2012. Did Augie think he could just remake the T-Nic days instead of recruiting the Cameron Rupp, Kevin Keyes,Brandon Belt and Russell Moldenhaur’s of the world, 2 years later we have Felts, Walsh, Etier, Marlow (who was kind of a beast but inconsistent that year). IIRC, our strategy in 2012 was “just wait till Payton and Weiss are up. A hit or walk from anyone else is just gravy.” What a fun time that was
  8. Obviously LBL-Hurley-Howard. But man, I’d kill to have Morehouse back right about now. When he’s on, he’s one of the best closers in the country. When he’s off it’s not good to say the least. Really really wish he stayed
  9. Whatever it takes
  10. I’d be cool with Witt. He’s looked good the last couple outings. Let’s get him in a large crowd game experience against, and I say this lightly, a instate rival, and see if he’s gonna be legit for us or a midweek inning eater @shadow_operative2.0 you’d know, streaming options for this weekend? Assuming ESPN+ but you never know with this amazing conference
  11. So DP personally ripped off Mercers arm off and make Luke Storm quit like a bitch? Those 2 would’ve seriously helped last weekend
  12. Are you talking ‘06-‘12 or ‘13 then? Those were some rough years. Still won the conference I think 5 of those years. But the drop off was significant after the ‘10 team lost in the supers. Went from Rupp behind the plate to Jacob Felts. Our starting rotation of Jungmann, Cole and Workman went to, well, Jungmann and I honestly can’t remember who else. Huge talent drop off either way. And the 2011 team couldn’t hit a beach ball. It’s pretty close between the ‘11 and ‘14 teams being Augie’s best last team. But yeah it got real shitty real fast after 2010
  13. Yeah I figured it’d be the other way. Good to great defensively. Shit at the plate. Really need Galvan back
  14. Kind of depends. Are you talking after this year or in 2-4 years down the line?
  15. And it took him 5 years to get number 3. And no I’m not saying Pierce is Augie. Just sometimes it takes a sec to get the right players in and all that shit
  16. The next 2 are supposedly even better. @Hookem2147 and @texifornia would know a bit more about that than I do
  17. I think he can. We were a cunt hair away from winning it all in ‘21. And that was with a roster he assembled. He can assemble another roster like that again. Shit look at our freshman and next couple recruiting classes. We’re gonna be 02-09 level of talent here pretty soon. Porter Brown?
  18. Except not at all. I don’t remember Augie winning the conference or hosting post 2012 (other than the super in 2014). We’d look ok to start the year then get ass raped in conference and finish like 6th or 7th or something. Nothing was more frustrating than the 2015 team. Returned an ocean of starters from the ‘14 team and we just shit the bed. Simple as that. So no. Not “pretty similar” at all. Now the program has dipped, I guess. But we’ve still won the conference 3 of the last 4 seasons and have gone to Omaha 3 of the last 5 full seasons. So yeah. Nothing like Augie’s last few years
  19. That’s going really piss me off if we do though. Can’t stand those mouthy cocksuckers.
  20. I mean we’re kind of saying the same thing. Hosting means we’re pretty damn good to great which gives us a pretty good shot of making it to Omaha
  21. My yearly expectations are win the conference and host. Then let the chips fall where they may. Baseball is weird. I thought we had a national title level team in ‘06 and ‘10. Just the way baseball is
  22. Well, Galvan is going to develop through the year. Schuessler is like a Petrinsky lite. That homer was nice, but he’d hit like .230 on the year as an everyday starter. Galvan on the other hand could be good to great. Just needs more reps. But yeah, not having a legit 3rd team catcher is murdering us. Why don’t we have a Teagarden, Rupp, Tres or Silas ever year? That’s our standard
  23. It’s almost like we shut out a team all 3 games in a series for the first time since nam
  24. Ok, what about kind of good?
  25. I’d kill for DJ Pertrinsky right now
