  1. First episode of Dope Thief was strong enough to keep going. I like the two main actors.
  2. Hit InterStellar BBQ today. Arrive around 9:35 and was roughly 25th in line. About 10:15 the line was considerably longer. This was my first time since the Michelin Star. Not sure if this is the new normal or its a product of SXSW. Lots of groups. Most of my order was to go, so no pictures. I like to try the specials which today is the piri piri chicken which was amazing. Brisket, pork ribs, mac & cheese, jalapeño slaw, free charro beans, and peach tea glazed pork belly for dinner. Also grabbed a couple links of the 1963 polish sausage to eat on a future date with saurkraut. One of the guys in front of me literally ordered everything on the menu and not just a taste of everything. Two beef ribs with chimichurri, brisket, all three sausages, . . . pints of all sides and every dessert. I thought he was meeting ten other people, but it was all for him. Obviously he didn't eat it all, but he was trying a few bites of everything.

    ¡VERDE!
  4. I wouldn't expect anything that late, but that is just a guess. I say FAFO and report back.
  5. Luck Reunion yesterday. Bounced around and saw several acts. Wanted to see Steve Earle and Charlie Crockett, but the chapel holds less than 100 people and I didn't want to wait in line for hours. Chaparelle was entertaining covering Kris Kristoffeson songs. Several people came out to sing with them - Margo Price, Lukas Nelson, Charlie Sexton, and Grace Bowers. Never heard of Grace Bowers, but she can really play the guitar. Ended up watching a good part of her set. Shane Smith and the Saints always puts on a good show. The wife really wanted to see Arcade Fire. They were playing in the saloon which holds about 200 people. There was a huge line outside during the earlier act, so we just camped out on the porch to see if we could hear from out there. When the previous act ended, everyone was supposed to leave the saloon - they refused. Security came and some people left, but the majority just sat down. Eventually, they started let some people in. It was kaos and during the confusion, the wife just climbed through an open window. While she was watching Arcade Fire, I watched Lucinda Williams. Arcade Fire went long due to the mess, so I caught Willie singing Whiskey River and Stay All Night. Back to the saloon. The Preservation Hall Band played the last couple of songs with Arcade Fire and then marched outside playing Iko Iko. Long day, but we had a great time. Until next year . . .
  6. I enjoyed Panther City BBQ as well. Its been a few years, so I'll defer to @GreenspointTexas if there has been a decline.
  7. Now we all have "searched for helicorprion"
  8. What time did you go? A brick and mortar barbecue joint with two customers doesn't sound like a recipe for success.
  9. Vandy looked as if the entire team stopped to tie their shoes on that last rewind.
  10. Luckily, they dribble off their own feet quite a bit.
  11. Ball was going up and below the rim.
  12. I guess there is a slightly less than zero chance that it is a venomous snake from Australia.
  13. Can't see the markings in the photo. Either a Dekay's Brown or a Rough Earth Brown. If there are noticeable markings, including a slightly darker top of the head, it's a DeKay's.
  14. If octopuses eat other octopuses, it seems silly that I shouldn't.
  15. Love the call back to Inigo Montoya.
  16. His name was Chuck.

She was disowned. The money she has was given to her by her friend.
  18. Double or nothing
  19. Thinking about eating a plate of barbecue with that shirt Rogen is wearing gives me anxiety.
  20. I didn't get the understanding the @Captain Ron was going to be putting any maple syrup in the 55 gallon drum. I thought it was being used for fire.
  21. Link worked fine for me.
  22. Waymo is a better name for the obesity drug. Ad: Have you been eating Waymo than you're supposed to?
  23. I have it jotted down at home, but here are the basics: 3 parts water to 1 part ketchup; roughly chopped onion; some beef bullion; kosher salt and 16 mesh black pepper to taste. Bring to boil, boil to reduce to about half. Check salt and pepper seasonings, I tend to lean heavily on black pepper. Simmer for a while longer.
  24. LM beef rib is definitely the best thing on the menu and used to be relatively uncommon at other places. Beef ribs are on menus all over the place now, so not such a special item. I don't go out of my way to eat at LM, but if I'm in Taylor around lunch time I usually try to stop. LM and Smitty's are my two favorite old school barbecue locations for the history and vibe, unfortunately not for the barbecue. On a side note, I cook up a batch of LM/John Mueller barbecue dipping sauce when I make beef ribs at home.
