Luck Reunion yesterday.
Bounced around and saw several acts. Wanted to see Steve Earle and Charlie Crockett, but the chapel holds less than 100 people and I didn't want to wait in line for hours.
Chaparelle was entertaining covering Kris Kristoffeson songs. Several people came out to sing with them - Margo Price, Lukas Nelson, Charlie Sexton, and Grace Bowers.
Never heard of Grace Bowers, but she can really play the guitar. Ended up watching a good part of her set.
Shane Smith and the Saints always puts on a good show.
The wife really wanted to see Arcade Fire. They were playing in the saloon which holds about 200 people. There was a huge line outside during the earlier act, so we just camped out on the porch to see if we could hear from out there. When the previous act ended, everyone was supposed to leave the saloon - they refused. Security came and some people left, but the majority just sat down. Eventually, they started let some people in. It was kaos and during the confusion, the wife just climbed through an open window.
While she was watching Arcade Fire, I watched Lucinda Williams. Arcade Fire went long due to the mess, so I caught Willie singing Whiskey River and Stay All Night.
Back to the saloon. The Preservation Hall Band played the last couple of songs with Arcade Fire and then marched outside playing Iko Iko.
Long day, but we had a great time. Until next year . . .
