  1. Guess we should have taken the 10 second runoff.
  2. You know . . . Arch's biggest critic is Arch.
  3. Since buying the 4Runner last week, I've purchased a few things. Lasfit mats for the front and second rows. Really good fit and coverage. More rubber than the rigid, plastic like WeatherTech liners we have in the wife's 4Runner. Odero cargo mat. Covers 100% of the back, including the small areas behind the wheel wells. The WeatherTech we have in the other 4Runner is fine, but I think I'll like the total coverage of the Odero. Also added the panels for the back of the second row. Should provide protection when those seats are laid down. Since I didn't get the same mats for the front and rear, I had to find some that were sold separately. Found these at 4Runner Lifestyle. Finally got some smartphone door inserts, which allows for keeping the phone, wallet, flashlight, etc. In the door below the handle. Without these the space is not ask that useful as the lip isn't yak enough to keep things from falling out. The inserts are fairly solid and affix with double-sided tape. Also from 4Runner Lifestyle. I bought an Offroam phone mount that is engineered specifically for 4Runner. Solid construction and firmly holds the phone. Not sure if I'm going to keep it though. With android auto, I don't really need the phone in front of me. Thought I'd post on case anyone is looking at getting some new accessories.
  4. Watched the first episode last night. I don't know if I can do another series where I don't like anyone. Mayor of Kingston was that way.
  5. You see what you want to see. I see a chic spread and ready to go. No judgment.
  6. My wife has had a 2018 4Runner Limited for a few years now and we both really like it. Last week, I bought a 2024 TRD Off-road Premium with the blacked out emblems and wheels. It's cool as hell. I'm in the process of buying new floor mats, cargo mats, and figuring stuff out. There are some suspension differences between the OFP and the SR5 Premium, but I think everything else is the same. Side note: we have bought 2 out of our last three cars in San Antonio as opposed to Austin. My new 4Runner had 9k more miles than a similar one in Austin, but was $5k less.
  7. Twenty-four years later and my eyes still well with tears when contemplating that day.
  8. Good reminder of why I stay out of the CR.
  9. No one can mistake you for a genius, I guess.
  10. Just saw a closer video. Looks to be right through the internal jugular.
  11. That's it. Beef jerky and pickled stuff.
  12. Cities spend stupid money on stupid crap - news at 11:00. Probably 15 years ago, the City of Georgetown spent over $100k for the design of their new logo. It's a cursive uppercase letter G. City of Round Rock built a nice sign on 1-35 south as you enter from Georgetown. If you look closely you'll see mountains and pine trees. You know what doesn't represent Round Rock in any way? Mountains and pine trees. One thing is true across all levels of government, regardless of ideology or political affiliation - its easy to spend other people's money.
  13. Fitlump started a petition to stop the use of the new logo. Blah, blah, blah, . . . too expensive . . . blah, blah, blah, . . . more important things to spend money on . . . blah, blah, blah . . . think of the children. Guess who voted with the unanimous council to authorize hiring the design firm?
  14. Monty Python and The Holy Grail - not sure which genre as there was nothing quite like it. I suspect spoof/parody. It beat Airplane for a spoof movie by five years, but Blazing Saddles was released a year prior.

I think the last time we gave up the first goal on the road and came back and won was July 2022 against Colorado. That was a great win with so many players out, players in odd positions, etc. I hope we keep Owen at least one more season.
  16. For those here not named Vic - according to the google via an incognito window: SSBBW is an acronym that stands for Supersized Big Beautiful Woman and is used in specific communities, particularly in dating and social contexts, to describe women of very large stature. It is a term for a subset of "Big Beautiful Women" (BBW), often referring to those who weigh 350 pounds or more, although the term can be subjective.
  17. I got an email from peacock announcing The Paper from the same people that brought you The Office. I wondered if the storyline was at all related to Ricky Gervais' After Life series (which was set at a local paper), but it doesn't look like it. I'll probably give it a shot either way.
  18. You know he can't see your post. Unless, of course, someone quotes you.

Interested to see the team that starts on Sunday verses Sporting KC. Svatok, Uzuni, Periera, and Cascante all called to national teams. Ilie was went out last week with a back injury and was on the injured list this last game. Additionally, Sabovic was pulled quickly on Saturday with a knee issue. With luck, Ilie and Sabovic will be well enough to take some minutes. I suspect Mateja Djordjević will see the pitch for the first time.
  20. My second shot was worse than the first. Better than shingles, though.
  21. Carry it? I bet he stuck a bunch of straws together, sat down next to the tub, and drank the whole thing right there.
  22. That's very sad, Mittens. The last two Surly members that I know of passing were participants on this thread - both in their late 40s or early 50s. Both led extraordinary lives, had loving families and friends. As mentioned several times above: this thread is important to our community. There are plenty of active members with decades of sobriety that will respond to anyone seeking help. There are several of us that started the road to sobriety by reading these posts, relating to the stories, and staying sober by reading every time the thread is bumped. There are several lurkers that are evaluating their relationship with drinking and, hopefully, working to curtail or stop.
