  1. A buddy and I went to Shaffer Bend this morning. Beautiful day, only saw a couple other people, and the fish were biting. I ended up with 7 whites, 1 Guadalupe, 1 largemouth, 1 sunfish, and a channel cat. All but one on an olive and white BC Streamer. All but one of the whites were really large.
  2. Wednesday nights for fly tying at Living Waters. Beginners to advanced.
  3. I can't find surly on tapa at all. Wasn't there another mobile app that @immamac was wanting us to use? I remember trying something but the user interface wasn't great.
  4. I totaled one just like that back in nineteen hundred and ninety-two.
  5. Probably worth posting a few of the new MLS rules. We'll see how good they are at implementing them. I'm glad that I don't have to synchronize my watch at the end of each half any longer. Off-Field Treatment Rule The Off-Field Treatment Rule allows medical professionals with time to assess and treat players off the field of play in a less pressurized environment. If a player with a suspected injury remains on the ground for more than 15 seconds, the referee will stop play and wave the medical crew onto the field to evaluate the player. When safe, the player will be removed from the field and remain off the field for a minimum of two minutes for further assessment and treatment. First implemented in MLS NEXT Pro midway through the 2022 season and continued through the entirety of the 2023 season, the Off-Field Treatment Rule has allowed medical staffs time to treat players, while also allowing match play to resume quickly. Exceptions to the Off-Field Treatment Rule include instances of potential head injury, goalkeeper injuries, serious medical events, and fouls resulting in yellow or red cards. Timed Substitution Rule Maximizing effective match time, the Timed Substitution Rule requires that a substituted player exit the field within 10 seconds. Failure to exit from any point on the field within the 10 seconds will cause the incoming player to wait for a 60-second holding period, before entering the game at the next stoppage. During the holding period and prior to the substitute entering, the team will play down a player. Exceptions to the rule include injury and goalkeeper substitutions. Enacted in MLS NEXT Pro during the 2023 season, 99.7% of the more than 3200 substitutions were completed in 10 seconds or less. In-Stadium VAR Announcements Pending International Football Association Board (IFAB) approval, VAR decisions will be announced by the referee to fans in stadium and viewers at home. Stoppage Time Clock Scoreboard, video boards, and/or stadium clocks will run until the completion of each half, including any additional time at the end of either the first or second half (ex: 95:04). Return To Play Equity Opposing players who simultaneously incur head injuries requiring off-field treatment, who are subsequently cleared to return to play, will return to the game at the same time, once both medical evaluations have been completed.
  6. I'm three episodes into a re-watch of season 1. Now the wife wants to watch it again as well. I will reluctantly watch the first three episodes again. Paying particular attention to Alexandra Daddario in episode two, again.
  7. I can’t tell you why but in the long run the Hotel California lyrics are already gone. The prosecutors should take it easy, but instead they will take it to the limit. There might be a civil action here, but a criminal case should be the last resort.
  8. Is this the show with big eared, blue, fish people?
  9. I really like Camp Tejas when the lake is up and the fishing can be great. Right now, you have to walk a mile and a half to get to farthest spot the spawning whites can get. There is plenty of fishable water between the parking area and the spot I'm talking about, but the white bass cannot get there from the main lake since the water is so low. The area they can reach isn't great for fly fishing, is mud bottomed as oppose to gravel, and lacks the concentration points I prefer to fish. Since you are close, you should explore and report. The blue mark is the farthest spot the spawning fish can go. Camp Tejas is marked with the tents.
  10. I've never fished the Narrows, but have heard good things. I fished Shafer Bend last year and caught several female whites and some largemouth. It was nice because there weren't any people fishing. Yesterday, I went out to The Steps on the San Gabriel above Lake Granger. Didn't catch anything and didn't see any fish caught. There were some whites running early a couple weeks ago, but I think the two days of cold weather cut off the run. This weekend should be okay with the increasing temps this week. I only fly fish and have no problems catching fish if they are there. I use minnow patterns like shallow water clousers and bc streamers. For conventional tackle, I would use white, white/blue, white/silver crappie jigs. I prefer 1/32 oz., but 1/16 should work as well. Fish the jigs right off of the bottom. You can also drift the jigs under a bobber, just make sure they are deep enough. I try to find a concentration point as opposed to open water. Once I locate the hole, I'll fish it over and over. Eventually, a school will hit the hole and I can catch several in a row. Good luck and be sure to give a report - good or bad. Eta - looking at the aerial, I'm not sure the spawning whites can make it up to Shaffer Bend this year. The Narrow might not work either. The Slab at Kingsland might be a better bet.
  11. Sound of Music. I have the 40th Anniversary Gift set that includes a DVD, a CD, and a companion book.
  12. I think that rule pertains to cooked chicken bones as opposed to raw. One of the people I work with fed his dog a raw chicken leg every day.
  13. Sure. Terrier is a type of dog originally bred to hunt vermin. A terrier is a dog of any one of many breeds or landraces of the terrier type, which are typically small, wiry, game, and fearless. Terrier breeds vary greatly in size from just 1 kg to over 60 kg and are usually categorized by size or function.
  14. This. I won't drive through Lubbock without stopping at Evie Mae's.
  15. You don't taste them as much when they're mixed in the milk carton with milk, mashed potatoes, and cafeteria mystery meat.
  16. We would have popped open a milk carton, added green peas, mashed potatoes, and whatever else was on our tray.
  17. In 2017 they were operating out of a portable building while they were building the new brick and mortar behind it. So your timeline is pretty close - probably 6 years.
