  1. Saying we would have easily scored 3 TDs vs Georgia if Moerschel had been the QB is silly. No one knows what would have happened. Just as ridiculous a comment as Mack saying he "knows" we would have beaten Alabama if Colt hadn't been hurt. Makes him look like an even bigger whiner than he already is. Yeah, do the math.
  2. If our pee is the right color, can we truly be called a piss-poor team?
  3. I've lived and died with the Horns since 1961, when I was 6. I remember running around the house crying when we, the number one team in the nation, lost to these very same cockroaches that day, 6-0. While my heart has been broken on occasion, these Horns have given me plenty of great moments. But as of today, I will not watch any more this season during the day unless it is freezing or pouring down rain. Too many other things to do. Herman's arrogance has killed my desire to root for these kids. I thought he was a good coach, but an A-hole of a guy. I didn't care as long as the team played hard for him. But it's now clear to me that his arrogance camouflages his inability to to make the proper adjustments needed to win, either during the week or during the game. He talks the talk, but doesn't know how to walk the walk. Same as its been the past decade. Texas is all hat and no cattle. Pathetic and sad.
  4. Asking how it has come to this is almost funny. This is who we have been for a decade. Opponents openly mock us now. We have a head coach who talks the talk. Makes it even more embarrassing. Cya in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport .
  5. I'm gonna cut the kid a ton of slack. Playing hurt is how I see it. Far cry from disgraceful and pathetic. But I think he should sit for the time being.
  6. If Orlando isn't smart enough to see that what we're currently doing isn't working then I agree he needs to be replaced. I'm not in favor of a panicked in-season change unless Herman and Orlando have a knock down drag out argument over what to do and can't agree. Otherwise, let's see if Orlando can make some adjustments to at least make us half way decent the rest of the season. And then evaluate at the end of the season. I don't know if it's scheme, or injuries, or whatever. But it needs fixing. Fast. Like now.
  7. Why are we talking about Charlie Strong? He's gone. Mr Irrelevant here, IMO. Dude never crosses my mind anymore. As for the point that we had many of the same issues on defense when we were healthy, it bears remembering that the healthy starters were inexperienced. Anyone who thought losing 8-9 starters off last year's team wasn't going to have some missteps was too optimistic. Drink the Kool-Aid at your own risk. I also don't subscribe to the 4 & 5 star comments that if they knew how to tackle and take proper angles in high school means they've regressed at Texas. Comparing any high school level of play to D-1 football is silly. Many of our players made plays at the high school level because of their superior athletic ability. Should they be "coached up" here? Absolutely. And it's fair to question our coaches based on the dismal performances of late. But I don't think it's right to not hold these players accountable also.
  8. We aren't as good as we were a month ago. That concerns me. Our defense is awful. And it's compounded by Herman's horrible in game decisions. I can't fathom how wide open their receivers get, or how our DBs never even know where the ball is. I'm just glad we won. I fear there won't be too many more victories this season.
  9. Well Gravy Train, if you don't think OU is a very good football team there is probably nothing I can say to change your opinion. So we just disagree. As for the Goliath comment, they've won 12 Big 12 Championships, we've won 3 and Baylor and KSU have two apiece. Not sure what that means to you, but to me it means they are the big dog in this conference.
  10. So now it's Del Conti's fault? LOL. I think Herman is arrogant. I also think he coached the LSU game badly and it cost us, at the very least, a better chance of winning. But to automatically say that our coaches are bad when we lose to a very good team just seems silly. I highly doubt any of our coaches tell a player to miss a tackle, to try fielding a punt while sliding to the ground, to ignore a blitzing linebacker, etc, etc. Maybe some of our guys have a low football IQ. Maybe some of them are 20 year old kids who make mistakes. IMO, we are moving forward. Like LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Michigan we have a Goliath in our conference.
  11. The defense missed 21 tackles and that's Orlando's fault??? Does he run missed tackling drills? Doubtful. So I'm blaming the players for that. When I look at OU vs Texas I only see elite talent on one side of the field. Almost every year. As much as I hate to admit it, they are a better "program". Recruits know it. Herman still has a lot of work to do.
  12. I think we lose one more. Some team, can't say which one, will be super hyped and we won't be, and they will ambush us.
  13. I think Herman is a good coach for UT. But he is arrogant. IMO, his bad coaching decisions contributed heavily to the LSU loss but no one held him accountable. It was all about Ingram's dropped pass, or Burrows being on fire. He's a huge improvement over Strong, and he's change the entitled culture that Mack cultivated. But he ain't perfect, and he needs to quit acting like he is. Let's see how we react to this loss. Hopefully we get the Sooners again. I never thought for one minute that we were a playoff team this year. A lot of teams would lose to both LSU and OU this year. We are a good team. But we are not an elite team.
  14. While I believe Delo$$ Dodds misplayed his hand badly, the ags done mucked up when they left for the SEC. They can chant SEC all they want, but they are just as much an afterthought now as they've always been. UT gave them just as much (more IMO) legitimacy as the SEC does.
