  1. I don’t get why Sark doesn’t try to get the ball to Bolden more. He had two big plays in the 2nd quarter, but I don’t remember hearing much from him after that. He has reliable hands and great speed and agility in space.
  2. Quinn’s obviously still not 100%. If we can grind out a win on Saturday and get him 3 weeks to recover, I think we’ll see a much improved Quinn in the playoffs.
  3. We need this clip with Craig’s call instead of Fowler
  4. Just protect the ball and don’t lose the field position battle. Lean on Wisner. Get a first round bye, then get Quinn, Bond, and Banks healthy over the break. We’ve got this!
  5. We’ll see. I’m not sure I totally agree here. The only real impact is that it killed any outside shot of them making the playoff with a loss to us (although I think any 3-loss team with no real signature wins would have a tough argument). They’re still playing for a chance to play for the SEC championship and thus a chance to earn a playoff spot with wins over us and Georgia. If the loss last night would’ve eliminated them from SEC title game contention, I’d be more inclined to agree about last night’s loss crushing their spirit. Now, the physical toll of playing a long game like that could play a role on Saturday, but they still control their own destiny to some degree.
  6. The couple of times I’ve watched A&M play this year, none of their position groups stood out to me as special. Their DL could give us fits, but that’s about the only major concern I have. Their offense is a bunch of JAGS, so not really concerned unless we gift them short fields like we did against Georgia. All that being said, I’m sure they’ll play out of their minds since this is their super bowl, so we’ll definitely get their best punches. I think the real X-Factor is going to be the stadium. Kyle Field is typically overrated, but it’s going to be absolutely rocking. Momentum and crowd energy are really hard to quantify, especially in college football. However, I trust Sark and co. to know how to manage that. Plus, some of Quinn’s best games as a Longhorn were on the road (last year @Bama and this year @Michigan).
  7. So then why throw Arch out there against Georgia? Sark can say he did that just to settle down Quinn as much as he wants, but at the end of the day he had to realize that if Arch goes in there, lights it up, and leads us to a win, there’s no turning back. It’d have been Arch’s team plain and simple. You don’t make that move if you’re dead set on rolling with Ewers the rest of the season 100% like you say.
  8. One thing I’d add here is the ramifications of having RFK Jr in any position related to public health. Giving him any kind of power to limit vaccine availability or at bare minimum spread vaccine misinformation is horrifying. And the dangerous part here is that this affects a lot more people than just those who refuse to get the vaccine. My dad is severely immunocompromised from cancer treatment, so more antivaxxers running around spreading preventable diseases to people whose bodies aren’t capable of handling those infections is just going to cause unnecessary and preventable pain, suffering, and death. And that’s not even getting into ramifications of his proposal to remove fluoride from water or any other health issues that he’s in no way qualified to oversee.
  9. My dad finally finished his chemo for follicular lymphoma. Met with the oncologist last week and it seems that the treatment did the job. He did stop short of saying he was in “remission” simply because this is form of lymphoma is indolent and basically incurable. The most recent scan did show no evidence of cancer, so obviously that’s a huge win. He’ll still receive maintenance immunotherapy infusions every six weeks for the next two years, but thankfully the immunotherapy is much easier on him than the chemo. Now, it’s just a matter of keeping an eye on his blood work and doing the best we can to stay safe in cold and flu season with his compromised immune system.
  10. Hold X/A to keep the ball on a triple option or read option. Basically the exact opposite of what it was in the old games. For the RPOs you have to tap the receiver icon before handing it off, so you have to make a pretty quick read or know exactly where you want to go before the snap.
  11. What ever happened with that guy? Is he still around?
  12. Saying “A&M baseball is not a stepping stone program” roughly 10 mins after it is confirmed that A&M baseball is indeed a stepping stone program is an amusing lack of self awareness, even by aggie standards
  13. If I remember correctly, Sark was announced the same day Herman was fired
  14. “$200,000 is a lot of money. We’re gonna have to earn it.”
  15. Welp, my dad was officially diagnosed with stage 3 Follicular Lymphoma. Doc wants to start treatment next week with a Bendamustine+Rituximab regimen. The oncologist said overall this has a favorable long-term prognosis, but in the immediate term they said the treatments may be pretty rough on him. Although they did also add a disclaimer that different patients respond differently and some don’t have hardly any side effects. Luckily I live pretty close so I’ll be able to check in and keep an eye on him regularly, take him to appointments, etc. Definitely would appreciate any advice y’all would have for caregivers of someone going through chemo.
  16. Yeah I dropped Texas Sports Unfiltered after listening to BK talk about watching a hobo shit in a red solo cup on a Texas-OU pregame show. Totally pointless drivel most of the time.
  17. Agreed. Really liked the time slot for the Tech game this year. Don’t have to compete with any other college or NFL games. Easier to work around family gatherings, too.
  18. At this point they should just make Robinson with his stellar 1-1 record permanent head coach for a discounted deal. Try to hang on to as many of their good players as possible and pray that they can somehow catch lightning in a bottle like Ed O in 2019. If (when) it doesn’t work out, then they can just cut their losses fairly cheap as he’d likely be a more cost efficient hire than even Fisch or Traylor.
  19. I think our game against Michigan will be a Big Noon game, so we'll have to deal with him next year. They do SEC OOC games if they're at a Fox partner's home stadium (like when Bama came to Austin last year).
  20. As far as national talking heads go, Joel Klatt was much more accurate in his assessment of A&M than Pate. He said they’re the 4th best job in the region and at best the 7th best job in the SEC. Pate’s just making a business decision because he knows that the cult will eat up his BS and give him more clicks/views.
  21. To that point, that’s why I couldn’t see them going after Klieman. They wouldn’t want to hire someone who’s 0-5 against Texas.
  22. Guys, we’re fucked. They may have Saudi money to bankroll their coaching searching and football program (courtesy of Longhornfrenzy on Twitter/X):
