  1. Pure protein bars from costco are legit. You can get them anywhere but the bundle of 24 or so for like $25 is the best deal. I've also been a fan of Quest bars lately. I'll grab them in the airport when I don't have time to get food.
  2. Just opened a chase sapphire account for the 80k bonus points for $4k in spending. Will be my corporate travel card. I typically spend around 3k a week with flight, hotel, meals, rental car, etc. Also been flying delta and staying at marriotts pretty religiously the past few months. Cut up my corporate issued card as that program is getting reigned back in. Any tips or tricks for a newbie on point programs?
  3. I bake my own. About 2 cups of bread flour, two cups of water, 2.25 tablespoons of yeast, 2 tablespoons kosher salt, mix, cover and let rise for 3 hours. Put in the oven at 450 for 35 minutes. It’s delicious and easy.
  4. My HEB prime steaks are the equivalent of Costco choice. Costco prime is a very very good steak. I've just started buying choice at Costco.
  5. This. Most of my lucky's are from Costco. Wish they carried 33/32 at mine. Puma socks and boxers are my go-to as well. Very comfortable.
  6. I think they're pretty standard pricing across Texas (my mom shops in the Frisco Costco and has the same prices as me in Houston). Choice tenderloin/filet are around $19 per pound, prime tenderloin/filet is $22/$23 per pound. I believe Prime Strip is around $20 per pound, choice strip is $18? Prime Ribeye is $19 and choice ribeye is $16/$17. I haven't bought strip or ribeye from Costco in a while. Filet prices were as of last weekend.
  7. Good luck man. I’m eyeing a 70.3 in 2025.
  8. I like Jeff nippard. He’s a no BS kinda guy that promotes full body exercises. He does tend to concentrate more on the bodybuilding aspect of fitness which I’m not really into any longer but a lot of his diet information is very good.
  9. 3 scrambled eggs with valentina's. Cup of oatmeal with splenda, cinnamon, and a serving of peanut butter mixed up.
  10. YMMV. I’m a distance runner with an Apple Watch. I think it’s an 8. I use it to track my mileage. It also has a heart rate monitor than varies a lot when compared to my wife’s Garmin watch. It’s accurate enough if you aren’t moving around but if you walk, run, bike, it’s not much help in terms of heart monitors.
  11. Definitely not buying into the off-season koolaid (yet) until I see at least some improvement in the WR room and DL with my own eyes. Hopefully we see something at the spring game. It is nice to see some good news at RB and Quinn taking the off-season seriously. Been burned too many times by the 9.95ers to buy into the hype. Show me.

  14. I tend to vote for people that will leave me the fuck alone.
  15. Exactly like the reform of SS/Medicare/Medicaid. Welcome to politics. I'm all for some type of gun reform law that will take guns out of the hands of the mentally unstable. But given the political climate, ain't nothing going to change. Which is why I carry. You literally never know.
  16. Why does your wife hate guns?
  17. I avoid Wal-Mart. Mainly just stick to HEB (when it's open).
  18. A few months ago, I always carried. I didn’t travel for work at my previous company. Changed jobs and have been flying more frequently so obviously can’t carry. Never shot anything aside from deer or dove. My dad was in law enforcement and I grew up around guns. I have shotguns, rifles, many pistols.
  19. This hits home for me. When I lost a ton of weight (315 -> 178), I wasn’t eating a well balanced diet and couldn’t run more than 5 miles to save my life. I gained 10 pounds by eating a better diet (more fat and carbs) and boom, my training exploded, I look a lot better, feel a lot better, and finished a marathon (not at the time I wanted so I signed up again next year!) I just finished my last race of the season - half marathon. Ran it in 1:47:00. This was my second half of the season (first was in October - Houston Half) and I shaved 8 minutes off the time. It really is amazing what hard work and consistency in training AND diet will do for you.
  20. Travelled from NY back to TX via ATL this last week and a woman had a clear backpack with a fucking cat in it. What the fuck is with people today?
  21. You should call Costco and tell them that. Report back.
  22. After the whole SWA shitshow, I’m done with them. Flew Delta from Hobby to Albany, NY and was quite impressed. Disappointing that they only have 3 flights a day out of Hobby and only to ATL but oh well. If I fly east coast, I’ll fly delta. If I go west, I’ll go United out of IAH. I had companion pass for 3 years with SWA but just can’t stand them anymore. Terrible planes, terrible clientele, very ugly stewardesses.
  23. I get that these people are outliers (myself included) and can appreciate a doctor (like yourself) who recommends diet and exercise. However, patients aren't incentivized to actually follow through with said diet and exercise, are they? No, their insurance will cover the cost of these drugs that enable their current lifestyle.
