  1. Glad we could help you hit rock bottom so you could rise again. We got Manny Diaz fired for you.
  2. Congrats UW on the win. You guys played lights out. QB seems pretty legit and was throwin darts. That TD toss to the corner of the endzone was crazy. Defense is super stout. OL is beastly. Great coach. Enjoy.
  3. What are you talking about pops? Who thinks that? Do you have an example? We just like watching our main rival lose and even better that it's to a team we beat. Schadenfreude. I don't think that's a foreign concept.
  4. Oxford University Press, the publisher, didn't think it's a joke.
  5. I'm not wasting my time in a sports board arguing with a misinformed know-it-all. You can read this book if you want an unflinching, fair look at the matter.
  6. Haha Bernard just got trucked for that TD
  7. I've done nothing but be respectful and talk sports in here, champ. So easily triggered. Wow.
  8. To paraphrase Kissinger, it's a pity that they both can't lose.
  9. Horrible tragedy that should not have happened. But Brigham Young didn't order it; locals did. The historical evidence suggesting the possibility that BY ordered it is very weak and there is lots of evidence that he didn't. But you already hate Mormons, so you believe the worst. Why is religious history even in a sports forum? Still traumatized by the Taysom Hill Massacres? Focus on the thread topic, dude.
  10. UCLA was also set to be the next Jordan branded school after the adidas contract expired. Deal was near final and then Under Armour offered more money and UCLA opted for UA. Just another example of dumb decision-making at UCLA. I say this as someone who went to UCLA for grad school, so I care. I'm stilled vexed about it.
  11. It's not as bad as you think. The colored section is cropped from that photo.
  12. And Leach was heavily influenced by LaVell Edwards and BYU. Leach acknowledges that a lot of the Air Raid elements came from his time at BYU. "We had quite a few people come and visit, and hang around and observe, and that's how a lot of that got started with ... Mike Leach and other guys," Edwards said. "We shared a lot of information in those days." Leach said Edwards is "easily one of the greatest coaches that has ever coached. And I think that's indisputable." He said he would hang out at BYU spring practices with offensive line coach Roger French, Norm Chow and Edwards and soak up all the knowledge he could get. "They were throwing the ball all over the place," Leach said. "It influenced me directly, specifically. It is the core of a lot of things we do offensively, the philosophy of attacking the whole field, and then you take it a step further..."
  13. I know this site loves all things BYU, so I am going to post more BYU content for your enjoyment:
  14. The move to navy from royal was a misguided attempt to get the cheap fans to wear the school colors more because hey people probably already have some navy in their closet. As for the tan, I have no explanation other than maybe to create a unique color combo because navy alone isn't and nobody was using tan (for good reason)? Otherwise, it has to be revenge or sabotage. Probably a Harvard Business School case study for poor decision making could be made out of this. Also, the article that TeddyBearStallion linked to mentioned that the bib uniforms were outlawed because of the two color schemes on a single jersey. Any other examples out there of a jersey so bad the NCAA outlawed it?
  15. I can't begin to tell you how glad I am that BYU is re-emphasizing royal blue under Kalani Sitake. Bronco Mendenhall started to dabble in it, but Kalani is bringing it back in a big way. Distinctive color and a classic and clean look that evokes some of our greatest years. I think our royal uniforms belong with the best in college football: I'd be good if we completely shed the navy and went completely to royal, too. And may the hated navy and tan bib uniforms / color combo forever rot in hell.
