  1. BYU does that, too. Don't ask me why.
  2. Texas Tech players seem to have a spitting problem, and not the first time.
  3. We have some key injuries, but it's not too bad. One of our best LBs, Ben Bywater, is out. Current starting safeties were 3rd string at the start of the season. We have been short a couple of receivers and a RB, but they may be back for the UT game.
  4. Good question. No good answer. Agreed, the royal blue is far superior.
  5. Most of the noted criticism of BYU in this thread is fair. We have lots of issues & weaknesses. Despite those -- and being #124 in total offense (301.9 yards per game) and #74 in scoring offense (27.6 points per game) -- we have a turnover margin of plus-9, #3 in the country, and a good scoring efficiency in the red zone (#23 in red-zone offense). BYU is #14 in fewest penalty yards, #24 in fewest turnovers lost and #22 in net punting. Those other little things have made a big difference for us. We need to continue playing clean vs Texas. We do have a new DC who plays a far more aggressive defense than we have had in years. I'm sure he will go hard after your new QB. Our corners are pretty good, but our safety position is beat up and we are way down the depth chart here. If Maalik can handle the pressure and make us pay when we blitz, y'all will probably win. If not, and we force some turnovers, then maybe BYU pulls off the upset. I've said elsewhere that I have a hard time predicting this game. I could see you destroying us but I can also see us playing well enough to win. I'm sure Sark will not overlook us. And one more thing, this team is not just a bunch of old white guys, although we have a few.
  6. This is a game you should win. I won't be surprised if you demolish us and I would only be a little bit surprised if we beat you. We are probably one of the worst 5-2 teams out there, our run game is atrocious, and our safety position is a MASH unit, but we sometimes play up to the competition and are capable of making things interesting. Slovis can be accurate if we can protect him/give him a little time, but we aren't able to always do that. Our receivers are a talented group, but they can struggle to get open on talented backfields. Who knows which BYU will show up. Our coaching staff knows we will be overmatched, so they will probably take more risks and roll the dice more than they otherwise would.
  7. You guys have it made in the shade. Backup QBs are our kryptonite.
  8. Looks like BYU will be the conference flagship when UT & OU gone. 😉
  9. This BYU team has issues for sure (horrid run game for one, despite a promising freshman RB that took over the starting role in game 2), but we will be a tough out. We are overperforming vs expectations coming into this season. This does seem to be a pretty good Texas team, so I anticipate a loss here. Kinda wish you left the Big 12 before we joined so we could hold scoreboard over your heads, but you will probably avenge your recent losses to BYU. I hope you do overlook us. Don't think Sark will though.
  10. BYU v Kansas 1M was lined up against the Colorado v UO deathstar, Alabama vs top 25 Ole Miss, and top 25 matchup UCLA v Utah. Not a bad turn out under those conditions.
  11. For all y'all pissing on the Big 12, just a reminder that Texas hasn't won the Big 12 since 2009. I think the saying is "all hat, no cattle"?
  12. Old Houston mascot looks like a demogorgon.
  13. He's also talking about Utah moving to greener pastures. Why else would the rivalry not be "permanent"? As long as Utah is in the Big 12 it would be. Whitt is a graduate from the Urban Meyer School of Civility.
