  1. If they feel like Scalley is their best option, they'll deem him rehabilitated, which I think will be the likeliest outcome.
  2. Heavy speculation that Whittingham is close to retiring, maybe even as soon as the end of the upcoming season. Utah's last two coaching hires have been exceptional (Urban Meyer and Whittingham), but can they do it again? They may enter a period of mediocrity soon.
  3. GK & Pac presidents = Soviet sub captain
  4. BYU athletics media team is top tier.
  5. Hey everyone B12 will still have a blue blood in it after this season! Sweet!
  6. Utah you should totally stick it out with Stanford, Cal, WSU, OSU, SDSU, SMU, Boise State, etc. in the traded up Pac 12.
  7. Have a hard time believing that Oregon State is going to get an invite. They offer little.
  8. Think OR and WA are waiting for the Big 10. Surprise school might be Stanford wanting to join the #1 hoops conference?
  9. Sounds like Colorado's patience is wearing thin.
  10. Other than Tier 2 schools losing developed talent to Tier 1 schools via the portal, I'm not convinced that much will change in terms of talent going to the top programs. Don't think high school recruiting will dramatically change. Texas and OU and the SEC got the best recruits, generally, before and they will continue to do so. The haves still gonna have. You are wise. With that niche pipeline, west coast talent access (especially if the P12 withers), better access to the playoff and better bowls, more money, playing for conference titles (not out of the CFB picture after the first loss in the season), etc., we should be able to expand our recruiting net and do better. Might make some noise in the B12. Probably take some time, though. Bout to find out.
  11. Sure did. Compared to staying in the MWC, we made more money, had way more exposure, had better schedules/opponents, and it made the move to the Big 12 easy with no exit fees. And we won the Pac 12 conference in 2021.
  12. Maybe some of you will find this recent BYU interview of Sark interesting. BTW, Sark opened the 1996 season with a win against Texas A&M.
  13. Ahem... "I asked the former ESPN exec what pushed the conference to the higher end of the scale? He said it was "BYU b/c of their loyal national following. They were the money shot. ... " I'll go with the former ESPN exec versus Hagbard.
  14. I'm sure you think you do, but I highly doubt it. I've read and studied quite a bit. You read Fawn Brodie's trash biography and other polemics and now you think you are an expert. Good luck with that. Anyhow, I'm not going to debate you on religion on a football board.
  15. Washington, ranked #2 after the regular season, declined the option to play BYU. They chose to play Oklahoma instead for more money. They got their money, but not the championship. They should have played BYU instead, but they didn't. Then at the beginning of the 1985 season BYU beat Washington 31-3. Baylor coach Grant Teaff, who played both BYU and Oklahoma that year, said: "We played both of them, lucky me, and I think BYU is better. We felt we had a chance against Oklahoma (ranked #2 before its bowl game against #4 Washington), but against BYU all I wanted to do was get the game over with and get out of there." Furthermore, BYU received the number-one ranking in ALL 4 NCAA sanctioned polls AP, Coaches, NFF and FWAA. Thus making BYU one of only 19 FBS programs which have been deemed "Unanimous National Champions". And one more point, a bunch of BYU players on that team made it to the NFL.
