Not really lifting as I never have, but looking to start soon. Even so, peloton has made my numbers better. While my weight loss numbers have considerably slowed, my BMI and BF has continued to drop.
I hear ya, but I completely disagree about slowing your metabolism. There are a bunch of recent studies showing that fasting and keto improves your metabolism. Now I don't fast like other here, but I do 16/8 fasting, which anyone can easily do, it is skipping breakfast basically.
I do agree with you on the sustainable approach of counting macros and eating healthier, etc. That is the key for maintenance. But I will still be mostly keto when I hit my goal, even for maintenance. It is a lifestyle for me now, feel better, have more energy working out, etc. For you, get over what you call a "fad" diet, things may work or not work for you, that is okay. You can say that someone lost weight and gained it all back on any diet in history, because that is true.
