  1. Why are you waiting longer than 30 seconds to eat them?
  2. Bobby Burton Posted 32 minutes ago Six games in, we have now reached the midway point in the season. And some Texas players who have not seen much action (playing in four games or less) are making and/or contemplating decisions about redshirting and then possibly transferring. Yesterday, we heard of one such player who is opting to take the redshirt with the intent of entering the portal in December. He will not play the rest of the season. While we are not going to name the player until he or the team announces it, I can say the player is not a front-line player and really does not have a clear path to the field or to be a large contributor long-term at Texas. Bottom line: these things are unfortunate, but they are bound to happen. Attrition is a natural part of college football. ** Yes, the OL played much better. Yes, Tre Wisner was a shot in the arm to the run game. Yes, Arch Manning was efficient and smart. But the unsung group on Saturday were the receivers for Texas, both the wide outs and the tight ends. In talking with Coach Bob Shipley and Coach Bryan Erwin yesterday for Lunch With the Coach, they both preached about the receivers working harder to give Arch opportunities if and when the pocket broke down. I remember two scrambles for Arch against OU very clearly. In both instances, he escaped the pocket and came near the line of scrimmage to his left. And in both instances, the receivers —Ryan Wingo and DeAndre Moore — found holes in the coverage for Arch. Those plays look easy, but they’re not. Not only was it a cross body throw for Arch, but it takes recognition from the wide receiver. Then they have to find a soft spot for their QBs. Both times, the Sooners had three guys in coverage around Moore and Wingo, yet they found a way. Coach Erwin also applauded the tight ends, saying the variety of looks that two tight end sets can give to an offense makes Texas tough to defend. As Jordan Washington, Spencer Shannon, Nick Townsend and Emaree Winston become more and more integrated and useful, the offense will only get better. Don’t forget about this receiver group. They are improving game by game, too. Roster guys, who we thinking? It’s someone who obviously hasn’t redshirted already.
  3. Mack was playing by game 2. Either way the fact they played Connor stroh as long as they did given he was the worst p4 guard in the country was failure. As I said earlier Brooks should have been starting by SHSU, instead of being thrown out there mid Florida game in a position he hasn’t practiced. They even had a bye week between games to help him
  4. Given his experience he’s now the worst starting lineman on our team.
  5. Doing both play through whistle if you get a flag fuck it you’ve been getting them all season anyway. We need more aggressions period.
  6. Oh shut up pussy. We need our linemen to be like that and not some soft ass bullshit they have been in the interior. Another player got one as well and was playing well before. Shit excuse. He should have been playing guard since Sam Houston state game. This staff trotting stroh out there continually was fucking retarded
  7. Would be a good mixer for some Christmas bevs
  8. Going forward we’re only going to have 3 out of conference games. This is stupid.
  9. am I reading this correctly that we went back to more physical practices and urgency heading into OU game?
  10. You people should really read the thread the post and context of the surrounding post when i made it about roster construction and especially the last part you didn’t include in your replay that suggest that it’s probably a better post in the OL thread.
  11. Didn’t realize Taaffe is an offensive linemen See above
  12. He navigates the pocket well and we’ve said it from the beginning. He still needs to work on getting the ball out quickly which he did this week vs Oklahoma. If he can continue to do what he did vs Oklahoma coupled with his deep ball clip rate which is really good it truly opens up the whole field. But if he goes back to holding the ball and looking for deep shots only it’s not a good recipe for our team success
  13. Stop recruiting upper middle class white guys unless they demonstrate incredible physicality. Who is the last guy from this demographic that was physical and hungry? Ive been thinking about this and I think Ohio state does something similar but don’t recruit specific guards unless they’re elite. Recruit more tackles and swing them inside, generally they will have better feet than a similarly ranked guard. So much easier to swing a guy in than out. This post will probably be better in the OL thread.
  14. The fewer times arch has to turn his back to the defense the better.
  15. Nah that’s where sark fucks up. He goes too deep ball heavy. Especially vs the defenses we face, it’s not a good recipe. When the deep shot is there we need to hit at a high clip though
  16. Going to be a great center
  17. I can never tell real Angel Reese quotes from fake ones
  18. Sark needs to let him play more freely imo and that will really open him up
  19. You should have called him a pussy
