  1. Good stuff here on draft history by Howe. Jeff Howe Texas is expected to produce three first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, which kicks off in three weeks (Thursday, April 24). Based on 10 mock drafts published within the last 10 days by ESPN.com, NFL.com and CBS Sports, the trio of offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., cornerback Jahdae Barron and wide receiver Matthew Golden will be among the first 32 players selected. The 1980 draft was the last time three Longhorns went in the first round when wide receiver Johnny “Lam” Jones went No. 2 overall to the New York Jets, the Los Angeles Rams made cornerback Johnnie Johnson the No. 17 overall pick and the Baltimore Colts took safety Derrick Hatchett with pick No. 24. The consensus among the pundits is that Texas will accomplish something the program hasn’t done in 45 years. Nevertheless, there’s a wide range of predictions on where and when they’ll go. Barron has the highest draft projection of any Longhorn, with ESPN’s Matt Miller mocking the Jim Thorpe Award winner No. 9 overall to the New Orleans Saints. Terry Joseph was hired away from Texas by head coach Kellen Moore to be the team’s defensive pass game coordinator, one of two former Longhorn defensive assistants who now coach for the Saints (Bo Davis was hired in February to be the team’s defensive line coach after one season at LSU) and could, in theory, advocate for Barron in the war room. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com and Pete Prisco of CBS Sports have Barron headed to the San Francisco 49ers (coached by lifetime Longhorn Kyle Shanahan) with the No. 11 pick. Eric Edholm of NFL.com and Josh Edwards of CBS Sports have the Arizona Cardinals taking Barron with the 16th pick. At the same time, Field Yates and Mike Tannenbaum of ESPN have the Minnesota Vikings selecting Barron 24th overall. That’s how things look for Banks, who Prisco predicts will go to the Chicago Bears, the owners of the 10th overall pick. The Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy winner is projected to be selected by the Miami Dolphins (No. 13 overall) in the mock drafts of Brooks and Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, with the Yates and Charles Davis (NFL.com) believing the Cardinals will take Banks with the 16th pick. Houston is the most popular mock draft destination for Banks, a product of Humble Summer Creek. The Texans, who sent head coach DeMeco Ryans and general manager Nick Caserio to Texas Pro Day on March 25, have the 25th pick and have a huge hole to fill up front after trading Pro Bowl tackle Laremy Tunsil to Washington. Tannenbaum, Edholm and Edwards believe the team will tab Banks as a long-term option to protect their franchise quarterback, C.J. Stroud. Golden solidified himself as a first-round pick after tearing up the NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.29 40-yard dash. Edwards and NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein have Golden coming off the board to the Dallas Cowboys, who own the No. 12 pick. The franchise hasn’t used a first-round pick on a Longhorn since taking Scott Appleton with the No. 4 overall pick in 1964 (Appleton was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he spurned the team and signed with the Houston Oilers, who picked him sixth overall in the AFL draft). Connor Williams’ selection as the No. 50 overall pick in 2018 is the earliest Dallas has drafted a Longhorn, so acquiring Golden to pair with CeeDee Lamb would make history. He goes as late as No. 29 overall to Washington in Brooks’ mock draft, but six of the other eight mocks have Golden going between pick No. 16 (Cardinals) and pick No. 26 (Rams). Yates, Miller and Trapasso predict the Seattle Seahawks will use the No. 18 pick to take Golden, who could be a weapon from the jump for free agent acquisition Sam Darnold after trading DK Metcalf to the Steelers and releasing Tyler Lockett.
  2. The only sport that it would probably work and result in a title would be men's basketball I think.
  3. I do agree with him though....what is the NCAA going to do if teams just starting doing this? Absolutely nothing.
  4. This is an interesting video from one of YT's large creators that gives you an insight on why OTF post the videos and the amount they do because of the VODS. They're obviously not pulling in this kind of money but it's just interesting to see numbers generated.
  5. Aggie just wants to copy big bro with a former Xavier coach lol
  6. Fried boudin balls clears!
  7. This is interesting from Gerry: Looking at some recent visitors schedule and our pursuit of the Oregon commit it would seem like you're more correct than Gerry may be.
  8. He’s an alcoholic woman beater. There are pictures of it from that night that are suppressed. Holy fuck you’re a retard
  9. Blake Munroe Moderators 3.6k Moderators Posted 51 minutes ago As Texas prepares for the Final Four against South Carolina, I spoke with a couple of sources regarding the team, the future and more. - Texas felt they matched up really well against TCU in the Elite 8 and confidence was high in coming away with a victory (obviously for good reason, as Texas won 58-47). - The team is well aware that it gets harder this go round and they’re going to have to shoot better against South Carolina, but it seems they’re anxious to settle the score. One source said there is a quiet confidence in the locker room. I’m also told that they feel they are a “different team” right now versus the one that played SC in the SEC Tournament Championship game. - There’s been a lot of questions regarding standout Rori Harmon’s future in Austin. Multiple sources have told OTF to “not be surprised” if she’s gone after this year. - There is A LOT of confidence in freshman Bryanna Preston regarding next season. The staff has a lot of faith in her abilities, especially in the event that Rori leaves. - One note to close on… It seems there is a common belief that Texas could be even better next season.
  10. With Holle gone that ND chick seems worth the investment. Rorie definitely could take a medical and make more at Texas than WNBA.
  11. I don't think it matters that they are in conference or not at the level we're playing and the level they're getting to they will be there come tourney time.
  12. Trilly mentioned Texas when talking about this guy
  13. Gerry thinks Beard will be at Tennessee when Barnes retires.
  14. The meltdown here will be insane.
  15. Saving a little bit of rub and sauce for later
  16. Yankees aren't the only ones using them currently.
